Long twitter thread here. She's had her electronic devices seized too, and has been accused of being certain posters on Kiwi Farms and Mumsnet

@BernardBlacksWineIceLolly and @BreakWindandFire sorry to tag you but she's been accused of being you!

We all know who this will be, but as Caroline says, please don't speculate/discuss them.

@ancientgran
Yes, he has a duty of care. Imagine the fuss if he released her and she did harm herself and maybe died. He'd be well and truly in the shit then.

Exactly

KettrickenSmiled · 04/10/2022 11:48

Well said @ancientgran. As above - PP don't understand how police procedure works, & are conflating a piece of legally required speech with the misconduct of an apparently wrongful arrest.

maranella · 04/10/2022 11:47

I'd never heard of Caroline Farrow, but am appalled by the content of her tweets and that the British police are being used (and allowing themselves to be used) by malicious misogynists for the purposed of intimidating women and their children. What on Earth is this country coming to?

reigatecastle · 04/10/2022 11:47

We always suspected that something like this was going to happen because we (Adrian Yalland, her, me) are targeted by a deeply obsessive, abusive, man who thinks the police can be summoned upon demand

And that deeply obsessive man was right - he did summon the police on demand and they jumped to it. I know you can't say who he is, but he's obviously got friends in the Surrey police force.

whynotwhatknot · 04/10/2022 11:47

wait they have no evidience but theyre asking her if shes done anything

bloody extreme

jay55 · 04/10/2022 11:46

It's the complaint who should be sectioned, given their levels of delusion and paranoia. And the police damn well ought to recognise this.

Wishing all the best to Caro and her family.

You surely can't be unaware of how manipulative, attention-seeking & batshit Farrow is? Just because she agrees with us that humans cannot change sex, doesn't make her a default heroine.

I don't care. I don't care if she's the MOST manipulative, attention-seeking and batshit person ever to have existed. It doesn't matter. It's not against the law to be an arsehole.

What makes her a "default heroine" is that she's been arrested and treated this way. That means that everyone who cares about women's rights needs to come to her defence. If you are willing to throw her under a bus, you are no friend to women.

It's Caroline Farrow today. Who will it be tomorrow?

It's Caroline Farrow today. Who will it be tomorrow?

Wrong question. The question you are missing is "who was it yesterday? Who is it today?"
I don't think any of you have ever been taken to a cop shop.
Shit like this happens to working class folk with depressing regularity. But as they're not yummy mummies with a high profile, nobody's taking to MN to defend them.

Disliking her views doesn't make me willing to throw her under a bus btw.
Of course she shouldn't have been arrested & treated like this - but she has the resources to not only escape whatever penalties the police might have trumped up mistakenly felt she was due, but to capitalise on this incident to promote her 'brand'.

littlbrowndog · 04/10/2022 11:44

Yes loiuse and Adrian yelland got damages from the Met police

donquixotedelamancha · 04/10/2022 11:44

Quitelikeit · 04/10/2022 11:28

Well the law says you can’t be hostile to certain groups?!?!

sadly you may not like that ……….

do educate yourself on the subject before you post such false information

Who are you talking to?

What law do you think bans feeling hostile?

ancientgran · 04/10/2022 11:43

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 04/10/2022 11:23

Threatening to section her too
Reading the tweet, she says that she said yes to have you had thoughts of self harm.
So it kind of makes sense that the police would be concerned that she was a danger to herself.
This seems to have been escalated on here to "threatened with" -seems a bit of an emotive twist for dramatics.

Yes, he has a duty of care. Imagine the fuss if he released her and she did harm herself and maybe died. He'd be well and truly in the shit then.

MelodyPondsMum · 04/10/2022 11:43

This isn't about 'heroes'. Getting caught into some purity spiral is exactly how gfs try to distract from scrutiny.
Cluedo guesses are not the basis for law - 'I think it was Plum on Twitter with the gun meme'.
At a time when so many other parts of the house of cards is falling down, perhaps it's time for officers to reacquaint themselves with their declarations and oaths.

Batdad12 · 04/10/2022 11:41

The police are basically letting themselves be used as a mercenary service, free for hire to anyone who has a grudge against someone else. oh, but they are "just doing their job" "just following procedure"

LaughingPriest · 04/10/2022 11:41

In fact the argument is that equality and access to police fair treatment under the law is rightfully conditional on the purity of your politics. If you have bad thoughts and beliefs then you should not expect equality or fair treatment.

Which is the viewpoint now being enforced by the police who are supposed to be impartial.

I don't care what views Farrow holds. I do not believe that policing and law should be governed by an extremist, partisan faith that is now essentially suppressing heretics. Morally that is beyond fucked.

This exactly. If you're posting to pick apart how nice CF is or isn't then perhaps think about what is actually important here?

beastlyslumber · 04/10/2022 11:40

Fucking hell, will you feminists ever learn? You're posting about how CF doesn't have the correct, pure politics, rather than in outrage wanting to defend a woman who has had the TRA gestapo brought down on her head.

Just stop going round and round in your purity spiral and stand up for women.

sashh · 04/10/2022 11:39

oakleaffy · 04/10/2022 11:25

What has Carolyn F allegedly done?
I haven't heard of her, but devices to be seized, it seems like it must be pretty serious crime, terrorism or dodgy images

..But upon reading Twitter, Carolyn says ''Women don't have {Aubergine emoji}''

IF it is to do with something like woman not having aubergines, {which they don't} the police have gone stark, staring bonkers.

Why aren't they getting involved with serious crime?

Probably because it's easier to arrest a woman in her own home than to deal with true criminals on the streets.

Got it in one.

I was in a similar position, before even interviewing me, I was offered a 'deal'.

I was in one country and the computer I was accused of using was on a different continent.

I had to explain tot he police what an IP address was.

No matter how appalled you are you cannot know what it feels like to be in a police station with a person interviewing you who isn't actually listening.

thirdfiddle · 04/10/2022 11:39

She's a Catholic afaik. Not surprising she'd have many views I disagree with, but that's no reason for anyone to be arrested.

Electrix · 04/10/2022 11:36

*Which I disagree with, but it is not illegal and if you think your beliefs on abortion should affect how the police treat you, you have some very 'problematic' views

I didn't say that. I'm giving more background on her because the poster said supposedly she doesn't agree that TWAW? I didn't want the poster to think that CF is some feminist hero

beastlyslumber · 04/10/2022 11:36

DrLouiseJMoody · 04/10/2022 11:35

Hi All.

As many of you know, Caroline is a dear friend of mine (yes, we're able to disagree on various things and maintain a friendship). We always suspected that something like this was going to happen because we (Adrian Yalland, her, me) are targeted by a deeply obsessive, abusive, man who thinks the police can be summoned upon demand. As for me, I've now taken reasonable and proportionate measures to prepare given that, unlike our abuser, I have various commitments and off-line people to protect.

I'm angry upon Caroline's behalf like everyone else, but I don't think she'll say how she's responding and she is responding entirely appropriately after what one man has put her and her family through.

Since I'm struggling not to use language that might see me banned I'll sign off and say I'm sure she really appreciates the support.

Louise

LaughingPriest · 04/10/2022 11:35

Yes, but she is also anti LGB as well and anti abortion

Which I disagree with, but it is not illegal and if you think your beliefs on abortion should affect how the police treat you, you have some very 'problematic' views.

Electrix · 04/10/2022 11:33

Presumably Caroline is a regular poster, who is against TWAW? And somebody, a trans rights activist? is targeting her and has reported her to the police?

Yes, but she is also anti LGB as well and anti abortion

nauticant · 04/10/2022 11:31

do educate yourself on the subject before you post such false information

Which law are you referring to Quitelikeit? In terms of the actual statute?

MelodyPondsMum · 04/10/2022 11:31

We should start a petition to parliament about how the police are being weaponised against women. It would be beneficial for everyone in the UK and all the police forces across the UK to know exactly what is legal and what isn't. And if they could reassert the punishments for malicious and vexatious complaints, that would be helpful for everyone involved.
