Long twitter thread here. She's had her electronic devices seized too, and has been accused of being certain posters on Kiwi Farms and Mumsnet

@BernardBlacksWineIceLolly and @BreakWindandFire sorry to tag you but she's been accused of being you!

We all know who this will be, but as Caroline says, please don't speculate/discuss them.

There is this perception that the police are inhuman . They aren't . They will stop and talk to anyone who wants to talk . And those who don't want to - that's the job .
Just because they wear uniform and are i ln a car doesn't mean you're being watched ! They are just people- trying to do a
Job . To keep people safe - the subject here is "wrong think" isn't it ?
And I'm against thy but police are duty bound to investigate all allegations- spurious or not .
That is not to say I agree with this culture of arresting people for tweets . I find it frankly ridiculous. I'd a rather be out patrolling and looking for criminals .
Of which you clearly aren't one else they'd have stopped .

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:38

They didn't stop because you were of no significance. If yku felt so threatened you should have waved them down .
I'm sure they'd have told you why they were there . Public engagement is part
Of the job .

But actually, yes we should be supporting her here.

If we don't, to me it would seem to be harmful to women in general yes

See, I just can't get this viewpoint, and I've tried .
We should support all women, regardless of their views?
If they're at home, cooking a roast chicken, tending to the kids (as alluded to in the emotive tweets) it doesn't matter what they' might be sending, or what they're saying, they're a woman so we must always be supportive, no matter what?
No.

I didn't say that did I?

I said in this case - arresting a woman, barging into her house and confiscating all devices from all family members because someone said she'd said something online, that is easily provable to have been posted by someone else - the case of arresting a woman for the right kind of wrong think affects all women.

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:36

Hat

The police are going to "look" at anyone out and about at a daft hour - it doesn't mean they automatically think your a criminal ! The job is to look for unusual activity. If your car
Was nicked or broken into or your house I'm pretty sure you'd be glad they were "looking "

I try to engage with the fwr threads . But sometimes- posts are just plain daft .

Hatthatwesrsyou

What makes you think police were looking at you specifically?

On mobile patrol at night the job is patrol- cruise around looking for anything out the ordinary because that's when burglars work , car thieves work , etc . They won't have been looking at you! There may have been some Intel suggesting your neighbourhood was subject to car crime or burglary.
The paranoia is alarming. They won't have been remotely interested in you or your dog .

It's not paranoia thank you very much, how patronising! You weren't there. They were clearly looking at me.

I was the only person on the street and after passing the first time they circled round the street I was on four more times. There's a whole town to patrol. The last two times they went by me, like I said, they slowed down a lot, the last pass was practically a crawl.

I actually turned around and bent down to look back in through the window so they could get a good look at me and I think subconciously so they knew I was trying to get a good look at them.

I'm sure they have no interest in me or my dog Hmm We are very uninteresting, that's kind of the point. Even if they thought I was dodgy looking, why didn't they stop?

Any police with half a brain must know that passing a woman alone at night five times at decreasing speed without saying anything in this climate (SE etc) is going to make them uncomfortable?

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:19

If they are - this
Happens all the time . In all crimes .
Issue is if someone alleges something police are duty bound to investigate- it never means the allegation is true .

This happens a lot in custody cases - one parent uses spurious allegations to curry favour in court even if it's untrue .

The only thing to take heart from is if the allegations are unfounded it will come to light in the ensuing investigation.

This is nothing new . Police are used all the time . But they can't be judge and jury - if an allegation is made they are duty bound to investigate it - often the allegation is unproven .

If this is a case of one individual using police
Repeatedly for malicious intent then they themselves could be subject to a
Complaint of harassment......just so you know .....putting it out there ....

There is recourse . I can advise further if necessary. Pm .

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:11

My questions then

Are the police being used to spuriously investigate allegations that have no foundation?

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:10

sashh · 05/10/2022 02:59

That's a stock answer and actually - the truth .
An allegation was made
Police are investigating. That's their job . Woman released under investigation - so analysis can be made as to whether any crime was committed - or not . If not - investigation will be closed no further action.

But there appears to be some
Back story to this ? Is someone alleging criminal offences groundlessly?

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 03:06

sashh · 05/10/2022 03:05

@stillvicarinatutu

When I was arrested over something similar that I hadn't done they arrested me for 'Computer misuse'. That's up to 10 years and an unlimited fine.

On the face of it sounds utterly insane.

@stillvicarinatutu

Is it not reassuring to have cops patrolling at night round the neighbourhood?

Genuinely asking

Yes it is, saw a couple round ours last week and they said "evening" as I passed
So I naturally said it back.
It was kind of comforting knowing they're out there making sure properties weren't being broken into, and if they were they were about to deter those who would if it was unpatrolled

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 02:32

You know what ....
I'm thinking I should have become a lawyer rather than a cop.

I know of a few lawyers that were cops .....

I think I'd have been better at being a solicitor than a cop
Sometimes.

I walk my German Shepard at this time most nights . It's now 2.30am . If police pass me I wave . Granted I am one but still.....

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 02:28

I have the definition of mal comms pinned to my desktop.

It's always bandied about but to complete the offence requires specific criteria that's hardly ever actually happened.

Sec 127 is a very specific offence that I use only to stop nuisance callers to our control room .

Someone is clutching at straws if this is being rolled out .

Mal
Comms has a specific definition i law .

Anything else (if you're just pissed off or offended ) is civil law . Defamation of character or slander is civil. Go
Sue .

Police should deal with CRIMINAL offences. The definition of mal
Comms is very specific. It wasn't even crime
Recordable until recently.

Pm me please - I'll charge the laptop and log in from there if I can ever remember my password.

The Laptop specifically.

stillvicarinatutu · 05/10/2022 02:14

And I've no idea what this thread is about . Clueless. Asked for pms . Because I'm not in the know. And if I as a female police officer is clueless then I'm betting the majority of my colleagues are also clueless.

I'm getting Surrey police have arrested someone for wrong think or something. ?
Ridiculous if so . It appears from what I've read that the police are being used to hound women who say women are women and men are men ?
That's a fact isn't it ? What's this complainant actually alleged ?

I get why there is mistrust of police in the fwr board if this is how the police are being used .

But I do t know what's happening. (I work in a sleepy little hollow that's never had stonewall training, we are t on their accredited list of trainees, we do t have stupid rainbow lanyards or cars emblazoned with that shit - were lucky if we have diesel actually. Or cars .

I'm so out of the loop .

Of course it altered it, as another PP pointed out.

Talking of whataboutery & lying - tell us again how disliking one woman's homophobia & anti-abortion stance equals misogyny? You've created a straw man out of nothing, because you think everybody should be "supporting" Farrow, & that not to do so is somehow being against all women.

I don't think it needs said out loud but just in case, I hate homophobia, I'd disagree strongly with CF on a lot of (most?) things I'm sure.

But actually, yes we should be supporting her here.

If we don't, to me it would seem to be harmful to women in general yes.
This is a concern for every woman, regardless of beliefs and views.
Any of us, no matter our personal status could be arrested and treated like CF purely on someone else;s say so, for something someone else has said.
That's sheer insanity and extremely, extremely frightening.

Also if it is like you say that the working class women in general have no platform, privilege or voice and no one to stand up and speak on their behalf here on MN for example and there weren't any instances of situations like this where CF as a vocal middle class women uses her platform to point out the injustice she faced for being a woman (coz lets not get confused here, this is about her status as a woman and not for her absolutely dislikeable views on other things), women collectively would be silenced across the classes then wouldn't they?

No one would ever hear of stuff like this happening. The world at large would be unaware. So what good does that do anyone? None whatsoever.

The police are particularly scary these days.
I took the dog out for a last toilet walk up my street not too long ago and was driven by five times by a police car. The last two drive bys were done at increasingly slow crawl which I found intimidating and unnecessary. They must have been able to see I am a woman (cunty type) and if they thought I was suspicious for some reason, why wouldn't they stop and talk to me? Nope just a repeated, slow crawl by.

This is just another reminder, as if we needed one, that we now officially live in a dystopian feminist horror novel made reality.
