Tory’s manipulation of women

All this nonsense that only the Tory’s know what a women is and you can’t vote Labour/Lib Dem/SNP because they don’t is just conscious and disingenuous manipulation of women voters, isn’t it? They say what people want to hear. Photo taken today at conference suggests they are also unclear about the rights of natal women but happy to get their votes by lying.
who is really more likely to support woman's rights, JRM or Angela Rayner? Johnson or Yvette Cooper?

Well I may not like the tories and think that they are basically a bunch of incompetent twats but I hold Labour, the Liberal Democrats, SNP and greens with the same level of contempt as they hold women and as such they have lost my vote.
Tbh I don't know which is worse the Liberal Democrats who call us non men, the greens who want us to believe them and the science about global warming yet don't understand basic biology or Labour who who have stated that anyone who has any understanding of biology is not wanted in the party so yes I will vote for the party that is rolling back stonewall law and not promoting it thanks

That should be, "the CP has the same policy as the LP".

MangyInseam · 02/10/2022 22:05

when you have just as many trans supporting Tories

I'd query the factuality of this.

Similarly, the idea that one photo of a TWAW supporter means the LP has the same policy as the LP.

We regularly get a poster bringing up one particular trans Tory MP, implying that means that the policies of the two parties are the same.

There are all kinds of things we could say about the two parties other policies. But as far as this issue, my response, OP, is how fucking stupid do you think we are?

Sausagenbacon · 02/10/2022 22:05

That's just desperate. One tory MP feels that way? What a surprise, that changes everything. Not.
Of course some Tories have that opinion.
But it's only Labour where the leader says that it's inappropriate to ask if only women have a cervix.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/10/2022 21:59

Kemi Badenoch or Lisa Nandy?

I disagree with Kemi on almost every political issue and agree with Lisa on most but Lisa is a spineless moron and Kemi is competent and articulate.

I will vote Labour but the ploppers painting all Tories as cartoon villains are using the wrong tactics if they genuinely want to switch women's votes.

If you want women to vote Labour then Labour need pro-women policies.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/10/2022 21:54

It's totally fine to disagree with some policies but to actively vote Tory when you have just as many trans supporting Tories is just bizarre.

I'd never vote Tory but not based on how many 'trans' (ugh) vote for them.

Since you, OP and the other first poster have all just arrived on MN you must be unaware that Feminists support trans people too;* *it's the policy of self-ID we want stopped, as do lots of trans people.

Yes some Tory MPs are awful on this issue and many don't give a shit but the Lib Dems are totally captured and Labour are substantially captured.

CaronPoivre · 02/10/2022 21:39

Definitely not Kemi because of her extremely right wing views. Any candidate supported by Britain First would not get my vote.

A Penny Mordaunt supporting LGBT Conservative thinks TWAW, no surprises there.

TheClogLady · 02/10/2022 21:13

This has never been an issue that is solely left or right.

Which is why many of us have chosen to work ‘across the aisle’ and create single issue orgs where women of all (and no) political affiliations can work together.

At this moment in time the Tories are in power and have been slightly more receptive than the other parties.

I used to be a Labour member but I won’t be voting for them in the next GE unless they specifically promise to protect single sex spaces and stop schools from transing children behind their parents backs.

If that doesn’t happen I will spoil my ballot.

I live in a Labour safe seat and the candidate (previous MP is stepping down) has got splinters in his arse.

Who actually cares about this nonsense?

Hope that’s ironic and not you being a dick.

YetiTeri · 02/10/2022 21:06

Yep, plus the bot infiltration on here. It's totally fine to disagree with some policies but to actively vote Tory when you have just as many trans supporting Tories is just bizarre. Labour has a lot to get right but let's not pretend Tories care more about the average woman.
