Just reading/watching about the tragic death of Mahsa Amini following her arrest for incorrectly wearing the hijab. These women are so incredibly brave.

"Anti-government protests are taking place across Iran following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini on 16 September. Amini was detained in Tehran by a paramilitary unit that enforces Islamic dress codes after she reportedly didn’t wear the hijab correctly. She fell into a coma under unknown circumstances while in custody and later died, prompting outrage at religious police and security forces. However, despite its scale, analysts and diplomats are doubtful that the protests will lead to any significant change."

Both weeping seeing this documentary and knowing nothing has changed for those women despite so many of them and men being killed by the regime. The world is a horrible place for women especially in Iran and Afghanistan, but not only those countries as we know. Solidarity with all those fighting the patriarchy. Brave brave women.

They are called the TRAliban for a reason......

And so much for solidarity with women or vulnerable or oppressed people, the agenda couldn't be clearer.

It's always the way isn't it OP? Nothing matters in comparison to the demands of these toxic activists.

The tragic story of Reyhaneh Jabbari was discussed on Woman's Hour this morning ( www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001k7qr
48:20 minutes in):

In 2007, when she was just 19 years old, Reyhaneh Jabbari was sentenced to death for the murder of the man who tried to rape her. She spent seven years on death row, dying at the age of 26. She is heralded as a symbol of resistance for women in Iran and now a new documentary tells her story. ‘Seven Winters in Tehran’ brings together secretly filmed footage, and testimonies from family and friends. Nuala talks to the director of the film Steffi Niederzoll and Reyhaneh’s mother Shole Pakravan.

Thanks for the link Biology how devastating and how brave that woman must have been.
