I don’t feel bad for her - she’s very openly dog piled on famous accounts, like JK Rowling, as well as attacked random private citizens. She’s a liar, who will stomp down vulnerable women to impress men. She deserves to see exactly the kind of backlash she’s been unleashing herself. A taste of her own medicine, and yet it’s still somehow the transphobes’ fault.

To be fair, I think this has always been common practice when introducing a radio guest (or a TV guest waiting unseen in the wings), simply because it builds up the suspense while listeners guess who it could be. I don't think it has anything to do with genderology.

i do. And i know this will sound strange, but they are their own persons. With their own lives. I didn’t build them, I’m afraid. But a bit of pot luck and they’ll turn out decent.

I was listening to a program on the radio which was little 3 minute slots given to acts who had been at the Edinburgh Fringe. Each act was introduced as ‘they’. So it was ‘fresh from their sell out tour where they explore their upbringing in a religious cult, it’s Sarah Smith’. Then ‘Sarah’ would start. ‘It can be really hard as a woman in a religious cult…….’ So clearly Sarah identified as a woman. This was the case for every single act. And then I realised. If everyone is referred to as they then you can’t get it wrong. You can’t mis-gender if you don’t specify a gender. Also if everyone is special then no one is.

And this piece by Jameela reads like a wet feminist's dream:
