Lesbians not welcome at Gay Pride

This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

way that so many women have become not just the handmaidens but the frontline troops for the TRAs.

I see it as having an added thrill for misogynistic males, that they can enforce domination of women by using other women. They can completely erase there is any problem for women as a sex by pointing out the compliant women and to the bystander it just looks like a "People's Front of Judea" squabble.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/08/2022 13:22

@CardiffPridedisrupter many women here are fully behind you.

I'm one of the lesbians involved in yesterday's protest in Cardiff. I'd say 90% of the abuse I received came from women and that's what's at the forefront of my mind today, the way that so many women have become not just the handmaidens but the frontline troops for the TRAs.

On the pavements women took up the chant 'Shame on you' jabbing their fingers in our direction. A group of very straight-looking women in frocks and full make-up approached me and after telling me I was being silly and making a fuss about nothing, went on to tell me I was disgusting before the police shooed them away. A couple of men dressed in skirts and tiaras yelled the kind of classic sex-based insults that men always yell at women. Two furious males, one of them very clearly with complex needs, were screaming in an out-of-control fashion and were restrained from launching themselves at us by the people they were with.

But the vast bulk of verbal abuse came from women. I know that at least one of the women who was screaming at me with absolute hate on her face is a lesbian and a member of various lesbian groups I once was a part of. So the question I'm asking today is why it's women who are so vehemently opposed to simple statements of biology. Why so many women were shouting and jabbing at me yesterday and not the men.

I think over the last 20 years or so I'd forgotten that being a lesbian and refusing to contemplate intimate relationships with men is the most radical and provocative position a woman can take and one that a lot of straight women have only superficial tolerance of. Pre-Covid one of my friends attended a Women's Place UK meeting where a highly-respected Labour female councillor with a long track record in improving women's rights got up to speak and prefaced her comment with 'I never used to have any time for lesbians but I feel sorry for them now'. Which tells you how low in the pecking order some women are to women who are generally supportive of women. The insult to lesbians, who have started and underpinned almost every women's organisation you can name, is staggering.

We thought the world had changed, but I don't think it has. Yesterday was like being back in the 80s and 90s. The hatred was palpable. It must be so hard to be a young GC lesbian coming out into this climate.

I'm tired: I'm rambling: I'm trying to process too much. I'll stop now.

@CardiffPridedisrupter
Powerful comment. The handmaidens issue is so baffling, depressing and infuriating, but rings true for me from what I see and hear.

The insult to lesbians, who have started and underpinned almost every women's organisation you can name, is staggering.

This, with knobs on. Where is the respect? Women in this country owe brave and committed lesbians pretty much all the gains made. Speaking as a straight woman I am profoundly grateful, even if others aren't.

FemaleAndLearning · 28/08/2022 13:11

OMG the BBC don't even mention Get the L Out!

Cailleach1 · 28/08/2022 13:08

It is strange how the PN chappie says something along the lines of 'Have you something against transgender people?'.

That is like saying to someone who is same sex attracted 'Have you something against heterosexual people?'

PN chappie's affected, faux bewilderment is dishonest, as well as being offensive.

When he says that Pride is being led by a group of people "against transgender rights" [sic]. Incomprehensible that anyone could be for women's (including Lesbians) rights. Maybe he'd rather the current zeitgeist of it being led by people against women's rights. Maybe the chappie (and all his chappie prioritising friends) would rather that. They don't seem to be able to compute anyone giving a flying f*ck about women's rights.

Artichokeleaves · 28/08/2022 13:06

I'd forgotten that being a lesbian and refusing to contemplate intimate relationships with men is the most radical and provocative position a woman can take and one that a lot of straight women have only superficial tolerance of.

Nailed it.

So much of this comes down to deeply ingrained misogyny, entrenched in culture, entrenched in people, that

  • a space serving only females and not useful to males is unjustifiable, selfish, not right, wasted space that should be redirected
  • a female who is in possession of female biology and gatekeeping it from being accessed for sexual service of males is unjustifiable, selfish, not right, and is either wilfully defiant and needs conquering by the righteous, or is messed up beyond retrieval and should just be shunned or got rid of.

We haven't moved on in any way from the large crowds of women who would gather in crowds to shout in churches to shame the wicked sinners, confiscate children off the feckless to ship them to Australia and Canada, gather at the witch trials - there's a lot to be assessed in how females when their only power is to serve male interests get right behind that service, but frankly the enjoyment of a good old shout and shame and mob mentality in the name of whatever righteousness or fad is currently passing through really is a big human thing.

It's the hypocrisy of this lot shouting 'love!' and 'inclusion!' as they scream violence and hate at homosexual women for having resisted the hostile takeover and forced rebranding of homosexuality that sticks in my craw. If you're going to hate on females for resisting cock then own it and be bloody honest about it and stop claiming you cover yourself in rainbows because you 'love gay people'.

What a depressing read, though I am sadly unsurprised ☹.

I'm so sorry that things have gone so far backwards.

So depressing that women throw themselves in to the Support Dog role

Artichokeleaves · 28/08/2022 12:57

I think it's like the 'it's ok to make up evidence and harass and bully and lie to get rid of a site if it's mean and nasty.... but not twitter or reddit which is full of death threats and rape threats and paedophilia and other such stuff because that's righteous mean and nasty'.

It's never about what it's claimed to be about. It's always just shutting up those saying things the TQ+ political lobby don't want heard. Its always about punishing heretics, and if you're righteously punishing a heretic then anything you do is righteous and justified.

And anything the heretic does, including breathing, is evil.

Nobody seems to want to answer whether protesting TRAs should be removed by the police from GC feminist events.

I can't understand the value of a definition of lesbian which includes men. Most people don't care if a man wears a dress. So if a man wearing a dress has sex with a woman, most people don't care about that. You can't feel homophobic towards a couple which you see as a man and a woman.

The value is mainly to the man in a dress who has delusions he is actually a women, and wishes to be validates as such. Everyone must participate in this or be branded a bigot.

Farmageddon · 28/08/2022 12:43

Viviennemary · 28/08/2022 11:33

I read that a group of Lesbians were harrassing the trans gender marchers. Why cant they just live and let live and let folk be proud of who they are. I thought thats what its meant to be the whole point of it.

The transgender marchers are mainly men who claim to be lesbians, who harass and attack actual female lesbians who disagree. What's live and let live about that?
When heterosexual males in dresses are more welcome at Pride than female lesbians, there is something gone very wrong.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 28/08/2022 12:39

BBC report conveniently fails to mention who the protesters were, and why they were there...

There's no value to lesbians. Quite the opposite.

The 'value' comes in the form of validation that the male in question is actually female. Heterosexual males want to be thought of as lesbian, both for reasons of having sex with women, and the validation that they too are woman.

they don't target heterosexual women, because heterosexual women only date men. And that isn't validating for them.

I didn’t realise they’d been told to go to the front (presumably to make it easier to remove them?) That makes the police reaction even worse in my eyes.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/08/2022 12:08

Which makes what these few female people did an act of absolute bloody heroism, because I'd have been far too scared to stand in front of those bullies and challenge them.

These women are amazing. I have long been in awe of them, starting when they led the parade at Pride in London 2018.

Literally the only reason that I'm linking to PN is that they have a full video embedded of this - if you're going to click on any PN article, make it this one.

From the comments this appears to be the case.

When they were removed lots of people (women and lesbians included) cheered. It appears they were removed for causing trouble and confrontation and their views do not represent the majority of women or lesbians.

Which is utterly impossible to evidence because as demonstrated, the only 'lesbians' permitted at Pride these days are the ones who either have penises or are willing to suck them.

Anyone not loudly clapping and shouting mantras at that in the approved manner has been excluded for being homosexual and saying so. So it's certainly the majority opinion of the TQ+ controlled ideology, but no one's checked how many homosexual people have given up, gone away and accepted that Pride and LGBTWhatever is no longer welcoming or inclusive of them, is hostile to them, stomps all over them, and is something they need to get the hell away from.

Many of whom post on this board, but are repeatedly told they're the wrong kind of homosexual, and therefore inclusion and diversity and other words don't apply.

It's like 'no women are excluded from women's spaces by TQ+ male people using them' - no one is checking or recording and the massive majority of those excluded are too bloody scared to draw attention to their exclusion

They have been bullied out. By the oh so loving and kind and inclusive gender lobby. Which makes what these few female people did an act of absolute bloody heroism, because I'd have been far too scared to stand in front of those bullies and challenge them. And makes it blatant what the TQ+ lobby's true colours really are.
