Lesbians not welcome at Gay Pride

This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

So a minority of people went to a event and then demanded the events to change for them, sorry but sounds kinda TRA like

How did they demand the event to change for them?

NecessaryScene · 29/08/2022 08:52

Actually, the Stonewall protests were started by British radical feminist Sheila Jeffreys.

She also wasn't there on the day, so it did take quite a long throw, but she was quite cross, and wanted to pre-empt what she could see was coming.

So GetTheLOut are just continuing her legacy.

LuftBalloons · 29/08/2022 08:43

You need to educate yourself @stoplittlepotstop

listen to what Fred Sargent says, as @Helleofabore outlines. He was there. It was NOT a “transwoman of colour” who started the Stonewall protests.

Helleofabore · 29/08/2022 08:03

It is a falsehood that some people keep repeating. I wonder why people do that when it has been exposed as a lie.

I remember when Fred Sargent was banned from Twitter. I wonder why activists were so determined to have a person who WAS there banned from Twitter. It must have been very tiresome for them to have him debunk it constantly, by telling them who really was there.

And it wasn’t the drag artist (who I have never once seen proven that he was identifying as a woman…)

History has a habit of reverting to truth in generations to come when history has been changed through propaganda and not irrefutable evidence.

Wishful thinking and millions of voices repeating something that is untrue only temporarily changes the narrative.

Pride as a protest was founded by a transwomen of colour who started a riot because of the persecution and victimisation of gay folks.

It bothers me that she is erased from the narrative, by a minority who claim others like her are erasing women. Please don't forget that.

Unfortunately for the attempted rewriting of history (good for exposing the lie though), the person who you claim started the riot has stated they were not even there on that day, It is a falsehood that some people keep repeating. I wonder why people do that when it has been exposed as a lie.

Ya'll need to know what folks/folx have revealed before peddling porkies! If the person you referred to says they weren't even there, are you claiming they were? Unreality into reality?

FYI
Witnesses of the start of the Stonewall riot all say that the person who probably started the riot was a lesbian called Stormie Laverie. The drag artiste Marsha Johnson was by their own recorded account not even there that day.

Norma27 · 29/08/2022 06:30

@stoplittlepotstop it bothers me that people lie that pride was started by a transwomen. It was not.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/08/2022 01:49

This isn't true.

Which is ridiculous.

They should have been allowed to fully participate as founders of the movement.

That's odd, I thought you were just saying what all women really thought, but now it seems most women don't agree with you?

Being noisy doesn't stop the handmaidens being a minority.

BingBongSong · 29/08/2022 00:55

Covered (albeit sparsely imo) in today's Times.

Well yes, corporates would not have touched the original Pride as gay and lesbians were so reviled by so many people.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/08/2022 00:40

But with less corporate input in the past.

antelopevalley · 28/08/2022 23:16

@GertrudeKerfuffle And it is still the same. Pride still has ordinary-looking women and men, men dressed up in women's clothing and some gay men wearing chaps. Both sides have always existed.

I suspect there are many straight people (particularly women) who see Pride as a big party

To be fair all the corporations being involved doesn't really lead you to believe that it's anything else.

This is true. It's strange how the more fun and inclusive the party gets, the more sinister it really is.

GertrudeKerfuffle · 28/08/2022 23:04

And of course those straight partygoers will have no clue about the history of Pride and the real struggles that occurred and are still occurring behind the rainbow and glitter. No idea at all.

I suspect there are many straight people (particularly women) who see Pride as a big party and give themselves a pat on the back for being so woke and inclusive. Now that Stonewall et al have done their work on making T the group that needs lifting out of oppression, those people are simply expanding their 'I'm cool with the queers' schtick without employing any critical thinking - they are doing as they are told. Then these meany lesbians come along and try to ruin the party, and they think the right thing to do is turn on them, because as we all know, lesbians are the poor relations in the LGBT+ and are not as fun to party with anyway, compared to the gay boys and drag queens.

And next, a quick lesson on how to suck eggs.

There is little evidence of that knowledge.

If you know so much can you please recite pride history to me
