An official compliant has been lodged with the @Conservatives Party in regard to @Baroness_Nichol’s online behaviour.

It comes after dozens of complaints were lodged with social media companies regarding her views on #trans.

The Conservative Party has been contacted for comment

Chamber voice is an on line 'news' outlet.

Apparently Twitter banned the Baroness, but immediately corrected after appeal.

They really are idiots, what do they think they achieve.

Hitler is not alive today. You're desperate.
You're going back even further than 20 years now, in order to monster a current politician, working in current circumstances. On safeguarding children and women.

Do you ever feel ashamed of yourself, for campaigning against safeguarding for children and women? Or do you just view children and women as collateral damage for men?

MeaninglessGraphs · 17/08/2022 00:47

Anyone complaining about Baroness Nicholson, for whatever 20-year-old historical reasoning - please answer honestly:

Do you believe that male-sexed people have the right to undress and shower in a communal changing room with teenage girls?

Baroness Nicholson is currently very incisive on women's rights. What her thoughts were 20 years ago are of no relevance or interest to me, right here, right now. I said and did extremely twattish things, 20 years ago. I am older and wiser and more experienced in life, now.

Baroness Nicholson has been engaged for years and is currently engaged in defending women's rights and children's rights against the men's trans rights onslaught, and they really, really hate her for it. As demonstrated by this current wave of tarring her, right here on this thread. She's hitting the target.

20 years ago she was probably older than you are now. If she hadn't reached peak maturity by 60 years old, then that's even more to worry about.

I do wonder at what point the one issue voters would actually say "y'know, this person is actually agreeing with me on this issue, but given that everything else about them is shit, I might actually not vote for them."

If Hitler was alive today...?

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 17/08/2022 00:44

I'm not trying to "tar" anyone, I find that such a strange mindset.
Disagreeing with someone on their stance doesn't automatically mean you're trying to tar them.

Bills come before parliament, they are voted for, against, amended, bits voted for or against, more amendments until it goes through, or not and then they all move on and get on with the next one. Life moves on. You can't take the votes on one particular Bill and attach to a fixed, unchanging, ideological belief in perpetuity to it. That is for Twitter. 🙄

All homophobes are also transphobes. Hence why the LGB and the T go together.

Then please have a word with the rancid homophobes in your movement who smear lesbians as 'sexual racists' and compare lesbians refusing cock to apartheid.

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 17/08/2022 00:34

Oh and snakebite, past blast!! Used to love pints of snakebite 😁

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 17/08/2022 00:33

She was an MP voting against gay rights, not a sixteen year old having too many snakebites, coming home and throwing up in their parent's porch
Exactly

MeaninglessGraphs · 17/08/2022 00:31

Oh, such eloquence and perspicacity!!!

"All homophobes are also transphobes. Hence why the LGB and the T go together." Courtesy of our dear pet Hearach!

What??!!

ObsilonMinos · 17/08/2022 00:28

There's posters very much personally invested in discrediting Baroness Nicholson in something she said or did 20 years ago. There's stuff I did and said 20 years ago that I now feel like a twat about. Seems how life appears to work. You get older, more experienced - you learn.

It's surprising that so many TRAs hate her so much then...

The Baroness has a current keen focus on women's rights. And for that, I admire her very much. She is extremely eloquent and perceptive in her focus. And I thank her for it.
TRA and MRA grudgers banging on about something she said 20 years ago - not so impressive.

MeaninglessGraphs · 17/08/2022 00:13

The Baroness's current activities certainly tend to cause bloviation in those who oppose her!

Hearach15 · 17/08/2022 00:11

ObsilonMinos · 16/08/2022 23:43

She's a spiteful homophobe and has been for decades.

100%

Yep! "I am no trans right activist..."

Bingo!!

Emma Nicholson is a homophobe, therefore I am a TRA?

Is that how this works?

Care to talk me through that one?

‘I’m no TRA’. Is the new Orwellian speak for ‘ I am absolutely a TRA,
same as when one of them starts up with ‘I’m Gender Critical But it is a nuanced problem blah blah ‘

Ok, let me clarify this for you -

I am no trans right activist, mainly because I have no interest in trans rights, have never taken part in any organised activity intended to promote or further them, and that being the case it, would be pretty ridiculous for me to either claim to be a TRA or fail to refute an allegation of being one.

To be honest, I'm not sure why it's relevant in any case, because my TRA credentials, or lack of them, have no bearing on the fact that Emma Nicholson is a repulsive homophobe.

MeaninglessGraphs · 17/08/2022 00:03

Can you grasp the idea that people can move on from what they believed 20 years ago? I certainly have. For example, 20 years ago, I thought that women had approximate equality, it was OK, and that men had our best interests at heart. Oh, how I laugh, these days! (Bitterly.)

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 17/08/2022 00:01

I’m no TRA’. Is the new Orwellian speak for ‘ I am absolutely a TRA,
Seeing as I've not done anything remotely activist in my life, I'm really not.
Unless disagreeing with a few posts on MN now suddenly makes me one 😕

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 17/08/2022 00:00

I've been wondering where the obvious panic would manifest as soon as the dial shifted in anything remotely positive for women as a result of women refusing to STFU.

Targeting an 80 yr old woman didn't seem the obvious sign of losing it, but this seems to be the chosen route for those in a tail spin.

I'm sure the Baroness has the gumption to cope - I've been so very impressed with her stamina & general upbeat & unfailing politeness.

To the most outraged-definitely-not-Anti-women activists: good luck with your endeavours. I'm sure it's a very productive use of time & energy, trying to get a well regarded 80 yr old censored somehow. 👍

Lifeadmin · 16/08/2022 23:52

ToGanymedeAndTitan · 16/08/2022 23:44

I'm no TRA, but Emma Nicholson is, and always has been utterly objectionable, so if people are finally calling her out for her longstanding homophobia, bigotry, and dark-ages views, then all power to them
Exactly, and same

Women like Emma Nicholson make me consider the possibility of voting Conservative for the first time in my long life.

Do you know the first thing about this obnoxious woman, other than that she's said something today that you agree with @ThinkingaboutLangClegosaurus ?

She's a foul, homophobic person, and a very good reason NOT to vote conservative, however much you (and I) might agree with this one opinion that she has.

Obviously if you do, along with her, think that homosexuality is abhorrent and that same sex marriage should be stopped, then by all means go ahead and cast your dirty vote.
