Okay, I'll give you salivating, but not 'some lawyer'.

Ben Cooper is a God amongst men.

Some lawyer indeed.

And I'll thank you to keep your opinion to yourself about how I spend my millions.

Soooo are you identifying as a millionaire or are you in fact (cue dramatic music) jkr ?
In fact has anyone seen datun in the same room at the same time as jkr?

Also agree about ben the God amongst men.

I think I got such good entertainment from my 20 spot for allison, this might get similar or a bit more come payday.

GrittyTruth · 11/08/2022 20:32

Hi everyone. I am the woman who wrote the post on twitter, and my crowdfunder will go live tomorrow. Obviously I'm not going to link to it here as I think that would violate standards.

I can go into more detail now about what happened, or maybe starting a new thread would be better.

In short, I was lecturing cultural studies, to students who had signed up to do music industry related degrees. Some resented having to do any academic topics, some loved it.

For clarity, at the beginning of any lecture about gender, sex, women's rights or feminism, I defined how I would be using the terms sex and gender. I did not discuss trans politics / identities. Partly because of the storm that would likely ensue, partly because it was one session a year and I couldn't possibly do it justice, partly because it's such a small part of such a long history (one module is popular music 1900-1975 plus links to present day), and partly because I'd been explicitly asked not to.

I NEVER told students what to think. I just asked them to read, to listen, and to form their own opinions, which they should rigorously challenge, and academically support (crazy I know).

I also said once in the staff room that I don't like drag, and I reported that female students were uncomfortable talking to a male student support officer who had been sharing naked videos of himself on instagram.

Essentially discriminated against for being a woman, and a feminist. I can start a new thread with more details, and happy to answer any questions.

Happy to dig up a few carrots for this one if necessary.

It is always wonderful to have posters come and celebrate their inability to comprehend reality with us.

Keep it coming!

Datun · 06/08/2022 00:11

Donate away, the more raised, the more funny it is when the loss comes in.

If a 'loss' translates to you as criticism of gender critical reviews being designated as legally discriminatory, then fuck knows what a win is - and good luck with that!

And, just as an aside, for most women, it cost less than a round of drinks.

Cheers 🍻

yourhairiswinterfire · 05/08/2022 23:06

Watching MRAs trying to frame Allison being awarded damages + aggravated damages as a loss is just 😘

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/08/2022 22:56

lmao, this conjures up images of hordes of barely literate transactivists desperately poring over the judgement for something mean they can highlight about AB, and of course hordes more of them on social media mindlessly sharing whatever scraps their leaders were able to glean, like an army of bots but less energy efficient. All of them endlessly confused about why the media keeps saying she won.

It's funny that exactly the same process took place when Maya won her case.

Voice0fReason · 05/08/2022 22:50

Some hilariously delusional posts on this thread. It's been a good laugh!
Allison's win was fantastic.
Happy to dig for the next one.
Very proud of the suffragette colours.

Is it just me or has the number of derailers, scolds and general tickers-off gone up in the past few weeks?

We had our regulars who wanted to tell us how wrong we are, but I came back from holiday and lo... Could it be related to the schools breaking up for the summer, and uni students on vacation starting to get a bit bored and hiding upstairs on their phones to avoid parents telling them to get a bloody job?

Or am I just a cynical old crone?

Kids really should get out more.

Get some exercise mate
You need some Parklife

😂😂😂

Bailey "lost" in the same sense as "transwomen are women."

Her employer did discriminate against her. So badly that she was awarded aggravated damages.

The judgement did not say Stonewall's part in this was fine. It only said the discrimination was the employer's fault, that Stonewall could not force them to be bigoted.

Stonewall got off on what amounts to a free speech defence, the judgement said the employer did not have to act on their guidelines which produce discrimination when acted on.

That is not a win in the real world.

Yep, however the activists on the other side are desperately telling themselves - sorry @CatherinaJTV, I'm not sure you'll ever convince us a win is a loss.

Thelnebriati · 05/08/2022 21:45

@CatherinaJTV Discrimination cases work using a hierarchy of claims so if claim A succeeds, claim B is dismissed.
The court decided she had been discriminated against. The outcome was that her employer was the one liable for using the advice, not the company they had paid for the advice.
HTH.

DarkDayforMN · 05/08/2022 21:35

She didn't in 3 of 5 counts and the court called her ideas on Stonewall's influence on GCC policy "conspiracy theory", I believe.

Fuck me, I think all us gardener's should do a stand at next year's Chelsea, we must all have green fingers by now.

I do love gardening, I particularly like the Maya Hardy Perennial, it will reward us year after year.

Best money I have spent recently has been for these Tribunals.

If needed, my thread wrangling skills will be available. Wink

It's hilarious and shows that the house of cards is falling rapidly and they are frightened/furious. It's all falling apart.

I suppose it's like being in an abusive relationship, the most dangerous time is when the women find the strength end things because they know they are losing control.

expect an increase for a while of people coming to tell us off, and minimising. There will be denial of service attacks, doxxing, violent memes, thought policing.

They don't seem to realise that makes us more determined.

every time someone tells me I'm wasting my money I donate a little more.
