According to the BBC in advance of the results being published. Let's hope so. And I hope it is her attitude to women's rights that has cost her

I'm still disappointed it's not going to be Kemi, but so fucking relieved it's not Mordaunt either!

One does not just walk into Mordaunt.

It took me a while but I finally got the joke. Brilliant 👏🏻

Datun · 20/07/2022 16:22

Yes, I hope this does send the message that not only is wokery in general very unpopular, but people who want to win votes will be reverse ferreting on TWAW as fast as their legs can carry them.

RhymesWithOrange · 20/07/2022 16:22

I think Mordaunt's outcome should be a big warning to any politician who faces serious competition (i.e. not those in safe seats) that Women Will Not be Fucked Around With.

GrimDamnFanjo · 20/07/2022 16:21

Serves her right fo not even having the integrity to stand by what she believes.
It's enabled the media to scrutinise the issue and been discussed on tv.
Guido did several separate blogs including the infamous despatch box speech.

Beowulfa · 20/07/2022 16:21

Thank Fuck.

The refusal to acknowledge the dishonesty about her role in the maternity bill was genuinely alarming.

Would be nice if other politicians were taking note...

PearlClutch · 20/07/2022 16:14

THANK THE FECKING POPE.

Relieved. It's really frightening to think how close we've come on a number of occasions with women's rights and child safeguarding.

JustAnotherViper · 20/07/2022 16:13

I wonder (hope - probably in vain) if Starmer has watched how important this topic has been in this leadership contest and which way the wind is blowing and might consider using his former legal profession to inch himself and labour away from the toxic identity ideology.

He’s got time and I reckon people could buy something along the lines of - initially wanted to be kind, we’re left wing and the party of inclusion but recent court cases have shown to remain inclusive we need to balance trans rights and women’s rights.

SpindleInTheWind · 20/07/2022 16:11

On the whole, hugely relieved. Mordaunt will now blame ‘personal attacks’ of course, but it has opened her and her wee pals up to a scrutiny she’s never faced before.

xalo · 20/07/2022 16:08

Yeeeeeessssss!

achillestoes · 20/07/2022 16:06

Thank Christ.

achillestoes · 20/07/2022 16:06

She’s out.

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 20/07/2022 16:04

Thank goodness for that! 😄

Conflictedunicorn · 20/07/2022 16:04

Well that’s a relief

Hoardasurass · 20/07/2022 16:03

🥳

TeenDivided · 20/07/2022 16:02

Yup, she's out. Sunak v Truss.

Apollo442 · 20/07/2022 15:59

The only good thing to come out of this is that Truss will take on the gender ideologues. About time they were driven out of the NHS, schools and the civil service but I fear in other respects it will be crap (like May mk2).

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 20/07/2022 15:56

She's not right-wing enough for the ERG lot and and the back-bench loons who are desperate to keep Sunak out of the top job, so they're piling behind Truss because of that, and the fact that they realise that if Sunak/Mordaunt goes to the membership, Mordaunt will be PM.

And I hope every other politician takes note of how well this toxic ideology, now that it is out in the open, goes down with the public and press.

TooTightFit · 20/07/2022 15:55

They aren’t going to get in next election so it’s pretty irrelevant. I’ll vote for a cardboard box before I’ll vote conservative again.

ControversialOpening · 20/07/2022 15:55

What a weird world we live in: A world where I’m backing Liz Truss to win.

This is what trans activism has brought us to.

SweetSenorita · 20/07/2022 15:54

Penny made her bed and .... now she gets to lie in it.

I live and die by my choices and decisions. And so must she!
