trans supporters and tactics

I was posting on the now deleted thread about trans women who wanted to pee and it made me think about the tactics that are used by trans supporters. The "need to pee" one being obvious. Another used to be "be kind" but I think that is becoming a little outdated now. Ageism is another I've observed - whether it is calling people who support single sex spaces dinosaurs, or just pointing out as was done on the other thread that it tends to be slightly older women who support womens rights. Another is to call people phobic, because we associate the word with homophobic which is obviously abhorrent. Also the mention of DSDs. Any other tactics that I've missed?

Because of the deliberate obscuring of language by the media and other institutions, I can't take what used to be the reporting of perfectly straightforward words like woman, female or lesbian at face value now.

Too many news articles which say a 'woman' did something horrendous which proves in fact to be a male.

So no, I can't take those articles on face value. Blame the 'queering' of language.

Women not wanting men in their toilets, and men ignoring that and going anyway, and the unintended consequences of women then being kicked out of their own toilets, is the fault of MEN not women.

Fair enough.

Today for example, although I’m wearing a summer dress and sandals I am also in the office running a department in a bank. This is not traditionally female, hence my coming firmly under the trans banner.

Yesterday I wore my husband’s shirt. That’s cross-dressing, also trans.

I like to think I’m doing my bit to widen what it means to be a woman.

My husband will be cooking dinner tonight. Also trans.

That's hilarious, even funnier some people say things like this and mean it haha

BlueMumDays · 19/07/2022 15:16
  1. the only way women could ever be mistaken for trans women is if trans women DO start using women's toilets on a regular basis.

  2. I find it really hard to believe that there actually exist many women who can't tell the difference.

There seems to be a big push amongst some trans women to dismiss "butch" women as not actual women. This was most notable after JKR hosted her lunch, and twitter was awash with "well I'm more of a woman than THAT!" comments. Presumably because their mere existence discredits the whole ideology. To use their own terminology, it seems some TRAs are trying to eradicate butch women. Which is literal genocide.

All in the US, what a surprise.

Ah yes, that's another good one. "Female people will be punished for not being feminine if they go in female toilets, therefore we can't have single-sex toilets. But also being a woman is about how feminine you are or aren't, and that's far easier to segregate toilets by."

The contradictions are legion.

BootsAndRoots · 19/07/2022 14:22

Another tactic is usually by teenage boys who pretend to anti fascist and claim that women standing up for women's rights is fascism.

LaughingPriest · 19/07/2022 14:18

Gosh, if only a certain very vocal group didn't continuously conflate 'female' and 'feminine' then perhaps people wouldn't be so confused about what a woman is.
Seems to me like perhaps the GC feminists trying hard to unpick this conflation might actually help situations like those reported in inews, but of course that'd be right-wing and bigoted.

Are you saying this woman is lying?

Yes.

Butch lesbians and gender non conforming women will be harassed/excluded/beaten up in toilets if you don't let TW in Totally untrue of course and the only times lesbians are mentioned or matter are when TRAs want to use them.

"How dare you call yourself trans widows, you're disgusting, that's an insult to actual widows. You're saying you wish your ex partner dead, you vile bigots. It's not about you. A kind person would love their partner for who they are, not for their gender."

Whilst simultaneously using words like "dead name" 🙄

EmileFord · 19/07/2022 13:29

That women have more important things to address than "gender neutral" language. And that the same things are happening to the language around men's health issues (or will be, when they get round to it). inews.co.uk/opinion/there-are-real-problems-for-womens-healthcare-gender-neutral-language-isnt-one-of-them-1744602.

Anybody know if the i paper accepts online comments on articles? I take the print version.

TinselAngel · 19/07/2022 13:19

Act like an arsehole on FWR, upsetting women, until you finally get banned, everyone breathes a sigh of relief, but then turn up again under a different incarnation being just as goady.

Or act like an arsehole on FWR, upsetting women whilst claiming you don't want to be here at all and are desperate to see some real feminism, somehow don't get banned, and just when you become notorious to all regular users as a goady, sea lioning arsehole, name change. Repeat this process again and again until we all start to question the point of our existence

Shortpoet · 19/07/2022 13:16

“If you want single sex spaces, why don’t you set up your own?”
Women did.

unherd.com/2022/07/why-im-suing-survivors-network/

Alongside lies and misrepresentation of the Equality Act 2010 of what case-by-case and “discrimination can be justified if the person who's discriminating against you can show it's a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim” actually means.

MangyInseam · 19/07/2022 13:12

Nice to see the real-time examples in the thread! I am sure lurkers will appreciate it.

Trans women are just like Black women, therefore feminists who object to men in women's spaces are racists

When you break this down, it's actually people arguing in a circle. It's a really common logical error. It's obvious if you write it out, but because the assumed premise isn't set out formally - TWAW - a lot of people don't realize that they are using a premise as their conclusion.

It's a bit of a window into how easy it is for many people to make errors like this without realizing it.

There's also an element where many people are actually afraid to challenge premises they have been given if they are told they are the basis of social justice. They function as completely unquestionable dogma.

I’m not a trans activist though, just a normal female who doesn’t happen to identify with all of the stereotypes of either sex, so am non-binary.

Can you not find your own campaign to poison, and leave trans to ourselves?

Lol, if only trans activists would stop foisting their ideology on everyone else people would be happy to leave trans to themselves.

New one from Twitter today - 'we need her to be sacked'. I also saw a condescending prick yesterday complacently tell women that anyone who didn't agree that TWA literally W should be sacked from employment. Other people's comments/facts/legal precedents were simply ignored.

The authoritarian tone of all this crap is what galls me. Males in particular seem to think that if they say something confidently enough that it's an absolute truth and shouldn't/can't be challenged.

The rage and anger that comes out when women assert boundaries is quite astonishing. So many men can't handle it when women say no.

Tenuously linked, but I am reading a great book at the moment called "the End of the World is Flat" by Simon Edge. It tackles just this issue in a satirical way.

(Though I expect you all read it years ago).

I've just tried to order this from the library.
Unfortunately none of the libraries stock it so I can't even order it from another branch.
