... makes no mention of her standing at the Dispatch Box in Parliament saying TWAW TMAM.

Tell us you've changed your mind , Penny, or don't bother.

@LarryBlackmonsCodpiece The comments on that times article, holy hell. The tide is a turning

Frankly this whole Tory leadership battle is an embarrassment.

We have candidates promising huge tax cuts without a mention of how these would be funded, vague nonsense about destroying "wokeness" as if this was the nation's priority or even possible, threats to Net Zero in the face of environmental catastrophe and cynical manoeuverings around women's rights about which I doubt any of the candidates give a rat's arse.

I'm not going to vote for this shower.

If Labour do get into power I suspect they will introduce self-ID but maintain single-sex exemptions - there will be so many massive problems to deal with that I doubt whether they'll have the energy to do anything else. Tony Blair had a massive majority but that didn't save him from a world of trouble over the fox hunting ban and this would be the same. I'd sooner take the chance I'm wrong about that than vote for a party that has done, is doing and will do so much catastrophic damage.

Does worry me a bit that if the Tories go full TERF, Labour will double down on TWAW.

as the SNP cry "hold my beer"...

Delighted this is part of the conversation around any leadership bid. Keep pulling!

WarriorN · 10/07/2022 15:10

From what I can glean someone has fucked up her ad; including an image of Jo Cox and Oscar Pitoruius?!

WarriorN · 10/07/2022 15:05

I agree kat, and maybe she is, at the same time it's just occurred to me that I feel all the candidates will make sure they know what a woman is right now. Their party is behind them.

I want to see Labour (and the other parties) U turning.

I can't work out with a hangover if this will impact the other sides or not.

KatVonlabonk · 10/07/2022 13:38

Wow, she's coming out fighting.

I've been in trouble before with this but I really feel we should leave our enemies a golden bridge to retreat over o sorry I meant, let people change their minds.

This is after all what we want, I know it's been a horrible battle, but we need people to come over to see our perspective and protect our rights. Politics is a slippery business

Oh I couldn't agree more - but they have to actually cross the bridge, not waft around on the middle trying to find some weasel words.

She's looking to be our PM. I want a crystal clear statement that she was wrong: that she recognises humans can't change sex, legal status means nothing in terms of single sex spaces and women's rights are not to be given to males, however sad saying no makes them.

achillestoes · 10/07/2022 14:42

@KatVonlabonk

She can have all the golden bridge she wants. I love it when people return to sanity. My bar for my one, precious vote every five years is a lot higher than “used to be a bit mental, is now back with us,” though.

chilling19 · 10/07/2022 14:35

As a PP pointed out, this is now a recognised issue that politicians will have to address. Are you listening Labour?

Who is parsley?

David Pa1sley
Which my phone offered to correct to "Parsley" Grin

RunSeaSurf · 10/07/2022 13:46

On the one hand it’s good that she finally sees that this is an issue the public care about.
On the other hand she must think we are stupid to see this as nothing more than a reverse ferret. So was she lying then or is she lying now?

littlbrowndog · 10/07/2022 13:17

How could she say trans women are women and trans men are men and then suddenly not believe herself 🤣 what’s that about ?

weasely woman. And showed laziness and contempt towards women in her webchat

Whatsnewpussyhat · 10/07/2022 13:08

Nope. I'd never trust anyone prepared to pander to male feelings at the expense of the 50% of the population who are oppressed due to their sex.

'Legal women'?
It needs to be made crystal clear that self ID does not 'legally' make a male a woman in this country and the few with a GRC are still very much classed as their biological sex in the exeptions put in place to protect females.

Then all businesses, schools, prisons and sports bodies etc can stop discriminating against females on the basis of their sex, because Stonewall told them it was perfectly acceptable to remove female only everything.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 10/07/2022 12:46

Very confused by this. I thought the Tories have already had a shifty lier as party leader, why does she think they want another one

thats what i thought!

maybe it is a part of the (secret) job description

TheirEminence · 10/07/2022 12:44

Not to be trusted. But glad she realises that so many women think she’s their enemy who will sell them down the river. Which she would, in a heartbeat. She still doesn’t get it and thinks we’re pathetic, naive creatures who just need a bit of placating by big strong Penny who knows the ways of the world. Fuck off with that bs. What will she propose in terms of policy? Tbh, it might have been better for her if she had just kept her mouth shut.

ZaraSizeMedium · 10/07/2022 12:42

Sexnotgender · 10/07/2022 12:32

Them’ll be absolutely apoplectic. Poor parsley.

KittenKong · 10/07/2022 12:29

Wait until parsley sees that. Them will blow a gasket.

MargaritaPie · 10/07/2022 12:29

I'm also confused tbh. I get the impression she's choosing her words carefully trying to please everyone bless her.

WarriorN · 10/07/2022 11:34

Oh dear Penny.

She's digging a very big hole. The arrogance is astounding to think she can rewrite history and not be called out for her lies.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 10/07/2022 12:03

I thought the point of removing Johnson was that he lied and was generally intrustworthy.

Doesn't that tweet prove that she is capable of lying? It's such a pointless lie, too.

Somersetweelassie · 10/07/2022 11:57

Really hope she doesn’t get it, shame on you Penny

Quia · 10/07/2022 11:52

achillestoes · 10/07/2022 10:13

I just watched Mordaunt’s pound-shop Churchill campaign video, reminding us that the new Tory leader will ‘colour every aspect of our institutions’.

We need no reminder! We know.

I found it almost incredible that she released that. Didn't anyone point out to her that it looked and sounded just like a Little Britain parody? I wander how many times they had to stop the recording whilst the voice over person tried to control their laughter.
