The Women’s Rights Network have a suggested email for people to write to their MP if Conservative if anyone interested.

Unfortunately I am not in a Conservative constituency.

Braverman is backing Truss. About half her supporters are as well but it probably won’t be enough if Tugendhat’s go to Mordaunt...

I am a member. Never voted Tory in a general election to date, but alot has changed since the last General election. The world went mad.

I know. The UK is the most unstable it's been in a hundred years.🤯

achillestoes · 14/07/2022 17:54

I emailed my MP yesterday - consider writing, especially if your MP is currently endorsing Mordaunt.

achillestoes · 14/07/2022 17:47

Apparently Mordaunt would bring in Andrea Leadsom as Chancellor.

achillestoes · 14/07/2022 17:37

The one positive if she does get in and brings back self-ID: visibility. The ideas of the trans rights movement are ridiculous. The higher profile they get, the more opposition there will be. Eventually common sense will win out (because people can’t change sex).

Who is best to vote for strategically to keep Penny Maudant out?

Unfortunately if you are not a Conservative MP or a Conservative party member, you have no vote.

No say.

BlackForestCake · 13/07/2022 23:30

There's just been a forecast on Peston that it will end up as Mordaunt v Sunak.

The fact that any feminist would want a tory government after the last few years is very sad.

Yes, it is very sad. I'm a leftie. But there is no way I want a government who would bring in self-id and other gender nonsense.

achillestoes · 11/07/2022 13:23

Rees-Mogg is considering a leadership bid. Jesus H Christ, they’re all going for it.

achillestoes · 11/07/2022 13:13

‘I was trying to think what the weaselliest possible angle would be!’

😂

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 11/07/2022 13:04

He is smart. Smart enough to back someone very good who will probably be out of the contest soon because she lacks experience, so he can see who everyone else backs and then swing behind the person he really wants

haha, that makes sense. I was trying to think what the weaselliest possible angle would be!

Though I agree with you, I think Badenoch could beat Starmer if she had a chance of getting selected.

achillestoes · 11/07/2022 12:42

But Badenoch should win, she’s very good, and could beat Starmer.

achillestoes · 11/07/2022 12:21

@BreadInCaptivity

He knows Badenoch won’t win. We’ll see who he really fancies in the next round. Remember last time, he threw his own hat in after backing Johnson. He is not not a snake.

Or smart enough to know he's unlikely to get a prime job under Rishi et al so is throwing his weight behind the candidate he really likes?

Neither you nor I get a choice whether we have a Tory government in the near future. This is about the Tory leadership race, DoM.

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 11/07/2022 12:01

Gove is backing Badenoch

that is really interesting. He’s got a lot of influence, hasn’t he? And afaik he’s known for being a bit smarter than the other Tories.

HPFA · 11/07/2022 11:58

She would have been better sticking to her original position rather than coming up with clearly false statements.

It's hard to know who is the worst among these numpties.

achillestoes · 10/07/2022 20:56

Gove is backing Badenoch.

Explain please ?

I think, given that Penny Mordaunt is now an official Prime Ministerial candidate, it's fair enough to discuss material in the public domain.

Penny Mordaunt's twin brother James, whom she name-checked and tagged on her twitter account in 2020 using this photo of the two of them together at Pride when I believe she was still Secretary of State for Defence, was apparently once in a serious relationship with an actor who is allegedly a gender ideology fan.

Let’s hope Mordaunts not the next PM

Just seen this tweet from Venice Allen
Have any of the Tory leadership hopefuls pledged to fight for ‘trans rights’ yet? It’s absolutely extraordinary how this issue has shifted since 2018 when @DavidTCDavies was the only conservative MP brave enough to stand up for women.

She's so right - we should remember where we started from and the toll it's taken on brave individuals standing up and dissenting at great cost.

The Penny Mordaunt group of MPs have really made a huge mistake with all the 'so called feminist', TWAW contempt they've thrown at GC women. I'm not offering any golden bridges to them.

I remember that very positive online chat with David TCDavies MP and what a relief it was that he took concerns on board. I seem to remember some people were expecting to hear from the other David Michael Davis MP (the high profile Brexit one) but no matter, we were so grateful to be listened to.
That's really how bad it was...we still haven't won...

I saw on Twitter PM’s brother used to go out with the man who has problems with ribbons, is that right?

Explain please ?
