what a star! if only so many on Mumsnet could do the same

"I cannot think of anything that helps women’s rights less than pinning the blame on trans women. They face so much violence and scrutiny as is. Leave them alone and focus on the real war on women. It’s happening in the courts and legislatures around this country."

Antifascist is an unfortunate homonym, makes me think of racist uncle!

Why is it when I see a post by antifascist I always automatically find a scene featuring Rick from The Young Ones running through my head….?

Well said. I wish this was posted to every HR department in the country

Sorry. Should have refreshed. Crossed with Roses.

Helleofabore · 07/07/2022 17:39

Because, Suggestions, decisions to interact with a thread has as much to do with who is posting and why, as to the subject matter.

RoseslnTheHospital · 07/07/2022 17:11

Because it's self evidently incorrect, if you understood anything about feminist criticism of trans activism/ideology. Never mind the fact that the OP isn't posting in good faith, they want to start an argument or simply just give everyone they perceive as "fascist" a good telling off. Why they haven't been banned for it idk, given how many of their posts are like this and how many get deleted.

achillestoes · 07/07/2022 17:04

Because you can’t reason with fanatics. There’s no ‘pinning the blame’ on anyone for anything. Men just can’t be women. That will be true for as long as humans exist. I’m not going to waste my time arguing about it with the woman who used to play Wonderwoman.

suggestionsplease1 · 07/07/2022 17:01

Not going to be able to respond if anyone addresses that as I'm heading out but don't take that as an indication of flouncing haha.

suggestionsplease1 · 07/07/2022 17:00

It's interesting to see how few people on this thread are actually distancing themselves from that quote - I would have hoped there would be more responses saying along the lines of 'Pinning the blame on trans women is not what GC feminism about, rather ....' and finding nuance to distinguish a position which is less antagonistic.

Why is that not happening out of interest? I'm hoping that failure is not a tacit acknowledgement that this is what GC feminism is about?

EmileFord · 07/07/2022 13:24

Badlifeday - oh, thanks - I'll have to check the listings better!

There has to be some kind of connection between raining goady ploppers and the trans umbrella but I haven’t had enough coffee yet.

Hallelujah!

...

Amen!

To be fair, GJBJ has been here for years...serial name changer with an immediately recognisable posting style.

Lol

The ones with the drive-by comments on 'what FWR is like' but never ever ever engage properly are always distinctive. You can tell because they can't even set out their own position coherently, let alone have any accurate idea of what 'GC' is... best just nodding kindly and scrolling on by....

'WonderUterusHaver' just doesn't have the same ring to it though

Haven’t read the thread but 😂😂😂😂

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2022 09:20

Blunder woman doesn’t really look fat now does she?

<frets about our increasingly overweight society >

CandyLeBonBon · 07/07/2022 09:02

'Raining goady ploppers' is my new favourite phrase of the day.

Waitwhat23 - gosh, Kevin Bridges - I really used to enjoy watching him. Not seen him on TV for years.

He's been on tv lots - maybe you didn't recognise him as he's lost so much weight!

I think you must have quoted the wrong tweet op, because I went for a look and, while I didn't read every response, I didn't see a single call for Lynda Carter to be killed or raped. I mean both sides are as bad as the other, right?

Mmmhmm... Dammit, you're right Floisme we're all doing feminism wrong. I haven't threatened to rape or kill anyone in forevvvvver!

*Ponders

Yes, actually in forever. Like I have never once threatened to rape or kill someone .

Maybe we need Antifa to educate us all in how to be proper feminists 😏

You can always tell when we're having successes, because it starts raining goady ploppers here.

KittenKong · 07/07/2022 08:01

She has probably been told that she is a gay icon - and that today this means… well you know.

Lapping up the adulation ‘when I was a little boy I dressed in my sisters WW costume…’ (yup seen a lot of those). And she is feeling ‘relevant’, loved… maybe she got crap from feminists back in the day (‘ffs what’s with the skimpy costume and lippy if you are battling bad guys?’) and now she feels vindicated…

will she be trotting out to the comcon events to sign autographs?

ContradickstoryEvidence · 06/07/2022 23:33

You aren't here to praise her. She's just your useful puppet to scold us. You are here to tell us off for not sharing her opinion and for agreeing with certain opinions of other people - people who are regularly analysed on here as being flawed individuals with politics most of us don't agree with, but whose gender critical views reflect their universality across all parts of the political spectrum, and particularly amongst people who are A/ highly intelligent, B/ critical thinkers and C/ people with the courage of their convictions, rather than those who would prostitute themselves to any political cause du jour in order to further their own pathetic need to be liked.

I wonder (ha!) when the fragrant Lynda last had to use a public toilet, a changing room in a municipal sports facility, fight for a women only scholarship, compete for a place on a female only sports team, use a DV victim shelter, survive in a jail. I doubt she has any idea what today's ordinary women are up against.

@ContradickstoryEvidence
👏

Abhannmor · 07/07/2022 07:38

I'd rather watch Wonder Woman than Wonder If It's a Woman.
I'll just get me coat...
