Just posted on Twitter. The usual suspects are all over the replies, obviously, so give her some support if you can—but there's a surprising amount of balance. Seems to me that the scales have finally started to tip.

That’s right, and when you strip away all the glitter and the ‘be kind’, it’s obvious these people believe those things (being old, not being ‘breedable’) make her an ‘unwoman’.

That’s because they are deeply, irredeemably sexist at heart.

It's notable someone from the showbiz especially musical theatre world is calling out the 'be kind' crap. Also Bette Midler is a grande dame isn't she, plenty of credibility.

As for Macy Gray, I love her plain speaking, I just love her voice anyway to be honest, how could you disagree with her? She should narrate a GC audiobook!
