This article in The Critic discusses the backlash to my legal challenge. Very grateful to Victoria Smith for highlighting the misogyny female rape survivors face from some 'feminists'

Ah, looks like I can't link to crowdfunder, must read those mumsnet rules.

Dug, although took a little time to locate. I put in the OP's MN name + 'rape crisis'

Good luck Sarah, glad to see the garden is looking quite healthy now.

ScrollingLeaves · 16/07/2022 14:22

Bump

TheBiologyStupid · 15/07/2022 19:25

Have just done some digging, too. Very best of luck for the tribunal, Sarah.

ScrollingLeaves · 15/07/2022 17:56

Have planted some medicinal herbs.

SerotinaPickeler · 15/07/2022 17:45

You're welcome Sarah. All the best to you and your team x

ScrollingLeaves · 15/07/2022 17:45

It seemed like a reasonable thing to ask, because they had a group for trans women, and a trans-inclusive group for women, so two groups for people born male, but none just for females,” she says.

It is incredible isn’t it?

IamSarah · 15/07/2022 17:22

Thank you so much @SerotinaPickeler

The interview Hadley Freeman published yesterday has inspired a few other gardeners. I'm so grateful Flowers

Bringing back the thread to Sarah Surviving crwd fndr (remember to replace the with the appropriate vowel when you Google 🤔) I've just gardened again. This is the most important garden I have tended so far. I might feel the urge again because I am doing something right and good.

@MeMe36 · Yesterday 22:19
Sorry, I looked but couldn’t find it
Thank you for looking, and for the link to the other.

MeMe36 · 14/07/2022 22:19

Sorry, I looked but couldn’t find it. I did find another one about another registered sex offender. www.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/tsfokw/cringe_freakout_video_of_me_was_uploaded_to_yt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

ScrollingLeaves · 14/07/2022 09:55

@MeMe36
On Reddit there was an article posted about a transwoman holding down and forcing oral sex on a special needs minor

I am sorry to derail Sarah’s thread, but MeMe do you have a link? There is another thread on here about the dangers of men having access to special needs women and children.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 14/07/2022 09:47

MeMe36 · 13/07/2022 19:55

That will NEVER fly bc no one can ever out-victim these people. They’re ALWAYS the victim, it’s what they live for.

On Reddit there was an article posted about a transwoman holding down and forcing oral sex on a special needs minor. The courts wouldn’t let her change her name on the sex offenders registry, and the trans community did a whole “woe is me” over the injustice to the trans community.

You must be mistaken, @MeMe36

That never happens.

Someone else has written a great article for the Critic

Thanks so much, Sarah. I'm so sorry for everything that you have been through. Very best wishes for what lies ahead in your incredibly brave struggle to put an end to this misogynistic nonsense.

ScrollingLeaves · 12/07/2022 17:18

Thank you for the article which is very well argued and, among other things, searches out some particularly pernicious thinking disguised as concern.

Thank you for going through so much on behalf of other women who need the sanctuary of male free rape groups. By exposing this trend to prioritise some men’s need to dominate, by allowing them into the very space where women need to heal away from them, you will open this practice to scrutiny.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 12/07/2022 15:35

Yes, that's a very good article. Let's all keep gardening for you, for all our sakes.

Artichokeleaves · 12/07/2022 13:25

That is a very well explained article, I agree with every word.

I'm astounded by the ugliness of the comment of the individual from the Victorian Women's Trust, who would appear to be someone traumatised female type women should not have to be exposed to. Furiously, vitriolically screaming about compassion - but only for males, and the pathology that starts to emerge towards females makes the sheer misogyny and lack of any real values of compassion or understanding of rape become painfully apparent.

It really is the case that anyone passionate about this ideology should not be allowed anywhere near female only services. I could compare other groups who come up with this kind of violence and threats to the populations they dislike; anyone responsible and capable of balanced thinking would certainly not tolerate one of those groups being handed the control of a service for that population.

Well I do have an idea actually, offer the option of a single sex space for women who need it.

Just this!

When did we lose that option? Who could have thought that a mixed -sex group - oh just a few, just a very few who are bound to be nice harmless people who are just as nice as women and you really wont notice a difference and if you do then shame on you - is a good idea?

SidewaysOtter · 11/07/2022 14:22

Artichokeleaves · 03/07/2022 13:28

And if 're framing trauma' is the answer and should be expected of those in distress, my answer would be to the TQ+ lobby: you first.

Go and use sex based spaces; reframe your trauma around transition and not being able to. Reframe your trauma around misgendering. Reframe your trauma around females saying no and wanting spaces of their own that recognise them as half the bloody human race. You first.

When you prove it's a lovely, happy wonderland that leads to being able to cope easily with what is so distressing - and it's a moral imperative to overcome it - then perhaps females will consider following the example.

Until then? It sounds like coercive bullshit that sets out demands for sacrifice and selfless suffering from females that males have absolutely no intention of ever making themselves. They will simply demand that females do all the servicing of their needs so they don't have to. There's words for that. Very, very old ones.

This, in absolute fucking spades.

@IamSarah I am sorry for everything you've been through and for the ongoing shit that's thrown at you.

JamieFrasersBigSwingingKilt · 11/07/2022 10:47

Excellent article. I support you @IamSarah. I'm so sorry for what you've been - and continue to go - through.
