Is Pride really just turning in to one big kink fest?

Yep. It's become an excuse to parade drag, fetishes and plain old pervy exhibitionist men. Very little to do with LGB people.

Though to be honest there's this weird thing for naked cycling here and the police seem not to care - it doesn't actually bother me, its not like it's vaguely sexual! Just odd anyone (and I've seen women too but mostly men) want to ride naked, just being practical, that's a lot of extra sunscreen!

The kink stuff annoys me though, if it was a normal parade and women were dressed like that there would be an outcry. Sex stuff should remain out of the eyes if children, straight or gay

I've heard Pride declared a great day for families and then find this object on display. Is this really the gay idea of innocent fun?

Funny how that would be a breach of the peace, at the very least, in any other circumstances, but in a "pride" march, it's hunkydory.

I am obviously referring to a naked man, jumping up and down in a rabbit mask in front on children in a parade- NOT the concept of pride which I think has been subverted from its original aims by some.

I am really not a prude but this is so not acceptable. I can foresee ten years from now we’ll have people having a similar ‘hiding in plain sight’ conversation about things like this as we have had over Jimmy Saville. It’s obviously not okay.

I'm reminded of that sketch Eddie Izzard did back in the days when he was very funny, about can there being, in his words, a difference between transvestites and fucking weirdo transvestites with criminal records, and not confusing one with the other.

I'm in the same mind about LGB related issues. I'm one of the increasing number of LGB grown ups who stopped going anywhere near Pride years ago, no longer feel any pride in Pride but acute embarrassment, and are doing our best not to look at the flags and fuss and attempts to make LGB a whole lot of things that many do not relate to, agree with or want anything to do with having spent decades trying to convince the public that being LGB did not equate with deviant with no boundaries or capacity for normal social appropriacy.

This is not helpful. Any more than trying to insist that 'normal kink' involves total lack of care or regard for involving non consenting others, and that's fine and appropriate if LGB. No, that would be fucking weirdo inappropriate LGB and kink, not LGB or kink.

And look at the audience, laughing along as if a naked middle aged man walking along the middle of the road infront of children is a perfectly normal and acceptable thing. They're just enablers.
