If I was to ‘live as a man’ from tomorrow, what would I do?

I don’t pretend to be an expert in trans issues but I am fascinated by how society drives gendered behaviour.

I believe anyone wanting to change gender would normally ‘live’ as the opposite gender for a while, or even permanently. But what does that mean? What would I need to do to live as a man? I’m guessing use male facilities but anything else? Grow a beard? Plenty of men are clean shaven.

I don’t wear dresses or skirts or have long hair, so why do trans females sometimes think this is part of living as a woman?

For many years dressing in a stereotypically female way for a substantial period of time was required before trans women were allowed to get a gender recognition certificate. This was (is?) one of the ways that they needed to prove themselves to their psychologist. That might be one reason.

Develop an inflated sense of entitlement.

Give unsolicited opinions to women.

Talk over women.

Tell women to smile, they’d look so much prettier.

Apply for jobs and promotions you're totally unqualified for.

Open your legs very wide when sitting on the tube. And get huffy at anyone sitting next to you who objects.

Pee standing up
shave your beard?
can’t think of anything else
though in our house, you’d get to put the bins out 😁

Scratch your crotch regularly and publicly?

Stop sitting with your knees together, particularly on public transport.

In the same way that 'living like a women' has no real answer.
Unless you are looking for answers that are stereotypes, there is no answer.

I would get up and have a quick shower, whack on basically the same outfit every day and go to work.
How liberating vs having to wash and dry hair, apply makeup, dress in lots of different styles, accessorise etc. It’s such a bloody waste of brain power (and yet I do it every day)

Get a pay rise?

Fart more.

Change your body language to be more confident (definitely manspread)

nocoolnamesleft · 26/06/2022 19:00

Get paid more?

Stop seeing dust, or mess, or laundry.
Stop hearing cranky kids.
Stop reading any sort of instruction manual.

Start taking 30 minute poos.
Start mansplaning.
Start tapping the top of any doorframe you walk through.

Unless you buy into stereotypes there's nothing, is there.

IMO you would need to poo at work.

Every man I know seems happy to go for a long poo during work time with no embarrassment at all. Most of my female friends (and myself) are far more inhibited about this. I cannot imagine - in the absence of IBS or some kind of medical need - ever happily doing this.
