Just read through this (and I have watched the video), and I am astounded at the tenacity with which a certain poster, who looks like they’ve done nothing but engage with this thread for the best part of two days, is arguing that the trans woman was the victim in this situation. It’s really very illuminating.

Well what can I say. I have a heart. I think the delivery driver was impolite by asking a question about the provocative signs on KJKs window but also think she did not deserve to be deliberately misgendered, have their gender identity denied, given a GC lecture which involved demanding they stay out of spaces they have every right to access, or subjected to “colourful language” which we all know is an euphemism for swearing.

MarciaDidia · 11/06/2022 08:34

They do now deliver indoors again. I have a delivery most weeks and have a choice as to whether they bring stuff in or stay outside.

Discovereads · 11/06/2022 08:30

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 11/06/2022 07:40

The driver was at all times outside her home on the doorstep.

Waitrose delivers into your home according to your preference. Before there's more of a run away with the doorstep version of events, can somebody point me to where KJK says that, please? Or is this someone filling in the gaps for their preferred version of events?

KJK has referred to "in my home" both in the original video (approx. 4 mins) and in a recent one, so clarification would be helpful. Original video also has "confines of my private property" several times.

Not since covid. I get Waitrose deliveries weekly.

Bloody hell @Discovereads you, a mere woman, can stand up to threats of having your face ripped off with total equanimity and yet here you are, stoutly defending a man who can't hear the fact that he is male without literally dying!

Have you ever stopped to think about that?

The waitrose delivery driver has given no indication that she thinks she can’t be misgendered without literally dying. So, no I’m not defending such a person because they are a figment of your imagination.

How on earth do people have the time and patience to listen to videos that are not professionally edited? I couldn't get past the first 30 seconds of her waffling on about her internet connection.

As I said earlier, she had intended to talk about something else and bits of that and her usual promo stuff kept leaking through. However every time she went off on tangents and then came back to precisely the right point in her story. And people used to pay good money to see Billy Connolly do the same thing!

Yeah, its a tad annoying at first but when you can see her trying to explain what happened, why she is so annoyed, remembering she is running a business, has another message she intended to give out, and then remember to get back to the new point, she is funny, amusing and consummately professional in that she doesn't miss a thing!

If you don't like it, move on! Find yourself a corporate feminist to follow.

That you don't see that "I'll take my time" is threatening makes me think Discovereads that you are not a typical female. A man that wants to show he can do as he wishes because a woman is smaller and weaker than him is a threat.

Yes. This.

And I have watched the video twice.

A male saying this is threatening behaviour and I am quite astounded anybody is trying to parse it anyway else.

KookaburraSits · 11/06/2022 06:19

This thread is funny. TRAs decide that PP has literally kicked the Waitrose delivery man off her property. On finding she didn't, it becomes "verbal assault" instead.

Just to explain @Discovereads, I cannot go to sleep with an unknown male in a hospital setting, for example. I was highly uncomfortable waiting with in the same space with a male in a unisex loo. If a male would've told me they'll 'take their time' getting off my property my adrenaline and cortisol would rise, and I may be triggered into a cPTSD episode you must know all about. Is that acceptable to you? What is your solution? NB Have been having therapy for years, just not succeeding just as well as you clearly are. Must be pathetic and unworthy of consideration/empathy. If only I had a cock

LK1972 · 11/06/2022 01:04

I have as thick a skin as any with the same diagnosis. Do not fucking shame me for my physiological reactions and my therapy progress.

Discovereads · 11/06/2022 00:53

LK1972 · 11/06/2022 00:38

And you know @Discovereads, sometimes it's difficult to get that thick skin you so wonderfully have, and good for you! Some women may have mental health issues relating to trauma inflicted by males, repeatedly. So do you suggest I 'reframe my trauma' or do you have a slightly more humane alternative in mind?

What makes you think you do not have thick skin?
(I am diagnosed with and medicated for cPTSD trauma is no stranger to me.)

LK1972 · 11/06/2022 00:35

@Discovereads No, it's not funny, it's statistically accurate guess. Your incident was a highly unusual one in my experience. Women have never made me fear for my life in my 50 years. Sadly it's very much not the case with men. That's people with cocks, just to clarify for you

Discovereads · 11/06/2022 00:28

LK1972 · 11/06/2022 00:15

Meh, we should all apparently develop thicker skin and not we worried about threatening males unless they tell us they're about to rip our face off, like our brave hero @Discovereads.

Meanwhile, our poor 'sisters' literally will die if we misgender that, but that's ok, because they are extra womanly and vulnerable, so no need for that thick skin that we must develop. Quite educational really

Well, it is nice and freeing to not feel threatened and intimidated by low level annoyances. Not gonna lie. Highly recommend thick skin.

For the record, it was a fellow woman that said she was going to rip my face off. (And no, she wasn’t a transwoman.) Funny how you assumed it was a man….

There is no such thing as a typical female. I'm 5'11, strong and athletic, hasn't stopped me being a victim of male sexual violence more than once. @Discovereads is extremely lucky or has been a target in her male-dominated environment. One way to deal is minimize-'i'm fine, it's ok, it's just banter, I'm one of the boys actually'. And worse still, then accept that male entitlement and become an apologist. Those women are the worst

Maybe they are passionate about their rights being questioned and attempts made to take them away, and appreciate someone spending their time fighting this, even if their videos are not professionally edited. But that's just a wild guess, what do you think?

yep. Refusing to adhere to an ideology which she thoroughly disagrees with is 'harassment' apparently.

I'll take my time is definitely am aggressive dominance thing for a man to say to a woman. It's bullshit to suggest it's not.

I honestly don’t see it as threatening. I’m not sure about what a “typical” female is, but I do admit I have developed a thicker skin than most other women I know. I worked in a male dominated industry which required it. So, someone saying “I’ll take my time” in such a situation where I’ve said to get off my property strikes me as a feeble, must have the last word type childish statement. It wouldn’t faze me in the slightest.

Last time I found someone threatening was when a person told me they were going to rip my face off.

I’m distracted by wondering why KJK still shops at Waitrose after all that poster thing, where the W=AHF billboard was taken down. Or was that a different supermarket?

Different company. It's on the tip of my tongue which one.
