which is why in the UK we currently are starting to hear complaints about uterus bearing cervixy kind of things are 'weaponising' justice and courts in a very unfair way to help them stand up for their rights. And it's damned inconvenient, with awful optics and it's leading to people saying things like 'bodies don't have a sex' and 'homosexuality is apartheid'. And everyone gets very interested in a most unhelpful way.

Bloody cervixy things wanting rights and access to legal justice instead of just obeying their betters.....

As the suffragettes knew; being imprisoned while appalling for them, did a huge amount to win their cause. The optics were very publicly awful for the authorities involved, and far too many people started asking serious questions about what was happening, why and the justice of it all.

Whichever way this goes, it will be a significant test. If she is sent to prison, I should imagine there will be other women angry enough to follow her. The laws in Norway, assuming they are applied zealously, are now sufficiently extreme that they are calling out for civil disobedience.

it looks as if these are the tweets in question. Very concerning if this is what triggers a police investigation

“Why [does] FRI teach young people that males can be lesbians? Isn’t that conversion therapy?”

Jentoft, who is male and an advisor in FRI, presents himself as a lesbian – that’s how bonkers the organization which supposedly works to protect young lesbians’ interests is. How does it help young lesbians when males claim to be lesbian, too?

and as for this:

Ellingsen was recently accused by Amnesty International Norway of harassing Jentoft after telling him on national television that he was male.

always nice to get confirmation that I was correct to cancel my membership of Amnesty

Legal systems generally work in men's favour, and even when those men claim to be women, the law continues to favour them.
Poor woman. I hope she doesn't get prison time.

I have tried to draft several mails in response to this thread.

I can't, I'll be deleted.

However this is not successfully making me any less angry or determined, because this is wrong. This is very, very wrong.

In 2021, a Norwegian man was sentenced to 21 days in prison and a fine of 15,000NRK after being found guilty of “insulting” and “misgendering” a trans-identified male on Facebook

Vs

Ellingsen faces up to three years in prison.

I'd say Norwegian judges still know who is a woman.

But that's that's endgame isn't it - no one can speak up against the wholesale dismantling of child safeguarding and women's rights - and then they are gone.

This is the first thread that I've started, so advice and constructive criticism is very welcome!
