Well, that's a refreshing take.

I think he's arguing for single sex spaces. Or the complete opposite.

Someone hand the man a biology textbook.

Tbf, Douglas Ross is easy to confuse.

It illustrates some of the problem quite well. Many, many people still struggle to understand wtf is even being discussed.

As ever, the language is confusing.

I htink he's just got confused. The manifesto, however, seems pretty clear.

Sorry, Fenlandia.

He's made a bit of a muddle of his answer.

But that is what he said. A transwoman has changed sex not gender.

I'm really confused, the tweet says ""Is a trans woman a woman?" "No. She is a male who has changed her sex but she has not changed her gender" so the thread title is misleading, as is the politician's attempt to explain this!!

'Many women have raised legitimate
concerns about their rights and safety
following the publication of the SNP
Government’s Gender Reform Bill. We
believe that these concerns should
be heard and acted upon rather than
dismissed. Scottish Conservative
councillors will seek to ensure that
there are single-sex spaces available
in all council-run facilities, including
schools, parks and swimming pools.'

Newsreader: 'Is a transwoman a woman?'
Douglas Ross: 'No'.

  • but based on the manifesto promise for single sex spaces, the Scottish Tories look like they will be supporting women's sex based rights.
