Dylan, currently on 'Day 47 of being a girl' claims Tampax have been in touch.

Why?

'Dylan was using a public restroom when a fellow woman called out if she had a tampon, Dylan shyly replying ‘no’.
Afterwards, she decided to buy some to keep in the house and in her purse for all her girlfriends, ending the video with “women support women.” It seemed that Tampax were quite interested in working with Dylan afterwards. What an incredible outcome!'

I’ve heard of many a cis-gendered male carrying sanitary products in their cars or bags, just in case one of their friends gets caught out…they always get talked about like heroes for their understanding.

Yeah.

Never ever ever happens

It is NOT transphobic (which has lost all meaning anyway, as it's the battle cry of the handmaidens) to suggest that men who think so much about periods and period products, wonder who might be having their period and need products, like to hand out said products IN THE WOMEN'S bathrooms, have some kind of unnatural interest (unless they're a gynaecologist) in menstruation.
Why would that be?
As for the male "friend" who carries sanpro for their friends, while I would still suggest this is not the norm, the problem is that this "Dylan" person is doing it while women are in their OWN bathroom, at what is probably quite a vulnerable and potentially embarrassing moment.
Don't try to make out it's normal for men to frolic around with baskets of tampons for their female pals.
It's not.

Anyway, thread deletion imminent. The magic word has already been spoken.

It's utterly ridiculous for men to carry tampons. When your periods first start you use pads or teeny tiny tampons. When your flow is more settled you use different sizes ,plus pads or just pads depending on how heavy things are and how long your cycle is . By the time I was perimenopausal my periods were horrendous. A teeny tiny tampon would have last 2 minutes if that. When I was 14 a heavy flow tampon would not have gone in. Its just ridiculous play acting. I cannot think of any situation where I would ask a man if he had any spare sanitary products . Its just bollocks

BackAgain777 · 28/04/2022 22:08

Yes PriamFarrl, that IS what they think.

On the last thread someone (a woman) even said that their TW friend often complimented people on their clothes, shoes or lipstick shade whilst in the ladies bathrooms.
Because that's what happens, doesn't it?

Bollocks it does.

Cuck00soup · 28/04/2022 22:06

Things that have happened to me in public toilets.
Women offering me tissues when there is no loo roll.
Women apologising for the loo not flushing.
Women moaning about the queue.

Things that have never happened.
Anyone asking me for a tampon,

PriamFarrl · 28/04/2022 22:03

In my 47 years of being a woman I’ve only ever been asked by friends or colleagues, never a random woman in a toilet.

Do some men think this is what goes on behind the doors? That we are all chummy and having great time?

Pallisers · 28/04/2022 22:01

but by having a tampon on hand she is .... probably feeling more included by being part of the process.

yes you nailed it there Hutchy. I agree that this is what is going on. I wonder why Dylan wants to be part of someone else's biological process?

WeRTheOnesWeHaveBeenWaitingFor · 28/04/2022 22:00

Women are generally too socially conditioned to feel shame about tampons so don’t ask strangers. Also why is it ‘girlhood’ and not ‘women-hood’ on Dylan’s instagram? Who says ‘girlhood’ she’s a fully grown adult FFS.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 28/04/2022 22:00

Yeah.

Cluelessmouse · 28/04/2022 21:59

women have been penalised for centuries for having periods. Today many women still suffer in extreme pain, discomfort and period poverty due to periods. How nice for Dylan to get to be included in that, and if dylan is to be believed, also financially gain from that.

ickky · 28/04/2022 21:57

What is the huge attraction of a woman's toilet?

All my friends and me hate using public restrooms and always have, if I need to go, I try not to touch anything with bare skin and hover over the toilet and this was before I read the story of a wanking transwomen smearing their seamen everywhere.

I don't know any women that actually enjoy a public toilet.

Also never asked or been asked for a tampon, in over 35 years.

BackAgain777 · 28/04/2022 21:57

But THEY DO have periods.
Honest Guv.
Just not the bleeding part, but everything else.
Because......hormones innit?
Cramping? You bet. In their.............oh wait...........

BlueCookieMonster · 28/04/2022 21:56

I’ve never had a stranger ask for spare tampons etc, but work colleagues have. I always have stuff in my bag for myself and happy to share.

If someone in a public loo was stuck, and I had some I’d give it. But normally if in public, my default stance would be to just pop to boots or the supermarket. Isn’t that what everyone does?

AngelinaFibres · 28/04/2022 21:56

FrancescaContini · 28/04/2022 21:51

Yeah but sanitary towels - especially super plus plus - aren’t as, I don’t know, what’s the word I could use here?? - as a phallic-shaped tampon that you insert inside yourself.

Presumably Dylan thinks that all women wear tampons and all women wear the same size tampon. He isn't a woman so has no idea about the multitude of different needs and options that biological women have and that bodies change as you grow, have children, get older etc. If he knew these things he would realise why the whole scene he has in his head of a woman asking for a tampon would never, ever happen.

WhenDovesFly · 28/04/2022 21:55

If only it were possible to make these trans women feel the true experience of having periods. The bleeding for days, the occasional leaking, the cramps, the backache, the hormonal swings. They'd find 'being a girl' isn't the fun they think it is.

Kanaloa · 28/04/2022 21:54

@DolphinaPD

I thought that but unfortunately it’s not true. It’s not uncommon to use tampons as part of the validation.

Really common on Reddit too, to see stories from ‘girls’ about some lovely trans person who have them tampons in public toilets etc. Given the amount of trans people there are they must be really making the rounds hanging out in public toilets waiting to hand out tampons and pads.

Horological · 28/04/2022 21:51

Dylan shyly replied no

Maybe with a coy, lispy voice?

While fiddling shyly with his pink hair clip.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/04/2022 21:53

If the cost of living crisis gets too bad, I'll be outside the public conveniences with a cardboard sign: will validate tw for tampax.

SingingSands · 28/04/2022 21:52

But... Tampax have offered "sponsorship"? To do what? Stand in public toilets and dispense tampons? Isn't there already a machine for that?

Horological · 28/04/2022 21:51

Dylan shyly replied no

Maybe with a coy, lispy voice?

MadKittenWoman · 28/04/2022 21:51

I have actually been asked, and probably asked myself, but this is still bollocks.😄

AngelinaFibres · 28/04/2022 21:51

Imissmoominmama · 28/04/2022 20:48

I wonder whether Dylan carries a supply of Tena Lady, for us oldies with knackered pelvic floors.

Perhaps that would mess with his romantic idea of the sisterhood- wrinkly and smelling ever so slightly of piss…

And wearing some very big, practical, comfy pants.

FrancescaContini · 28/04/2022 21:51

nepeta · 28/04/2022 21:45

Sanitary towels would make more sense as everyone can use those but not everyone can use tampons.

I first mistyped sanitary towels as sanitary trowels...

Yeah but sanitary towels - especially super plus plus - aren’t as, I don’t know, what’s the word I could use here?? - as a phallic-shaped tampon that you insert inside yourself.

AngelinaFibres · 28/04/2022 21:49

lovelyweathertoday · 28/04/2022 18:47

Let me remember all those times I've heard women in toilets calling out for spare sanitary products.

... never ...

I have never ,ever, ever asked a stranger or a friend in any situation if they have a spare tampon. I can honestly say that in all my 57 years no one has ever asked me for any sanitary products. Biological women are either prepared and carry something in their bag or make a temporary pad with loo roll and go to a shop as soon as possible. Biological women, ie the humans who actually have periods, learn all this very quickly. Why on earth would a biological man think he should be carrying tampons or be in the female toilets.

DolphinaPD · 28/04/2022 21:49

It's so weird. This obsession with tampons.

I'm surprised they aren't taken with towels because they could actually wear those, but they can't even pretend to use tampons.
