If a scarf is more your bag (remember the Mumsnet scarf?), these popped up in my recommendations:

David Lammy recently said this in an interview: “Churchill replaced Chamberlain just days before the Second World War, Lloyd George replaced (Herbert Henry) Asquith weeks into Somme, (Anthony) Eden lost his job during the Suez crisis."

Wrong on all three counts, apparently. Great for someone aspiring to be foreign secretary.

ScreamingMeMe · 26/04/2022 12:21

I don't buy anything from Etsy now: they let people sell merchandise with violent threats against 'terfs' on their site 😑

SidewaysOtter · 26/04/2022 12:03

@Whingasaurus I think you need something like this for your lunch. Nice and subtle…

If you look carefully, JKR features in the opening credits as a statue in the middle of a tug of war.

Also, back in the days before I was really paying attention to all of this, I'm sure I remember HIGNFY featuring a picture of Jess Bradley which caused some mirth, along with a reference to a local Labour party official who was in trouble for saying (as a piss take) that he identified as a woman on Wednesday afternoons and every other Thursday, or something. Does anyone else remember this?

So, I rewatched the opening credits really carefully and yes - there she is....

This is fascinating to me, because they keep well away from this on HIGNFY, the last leg, mock the week..... They don't mention any of it, in any more detail than maybe a quick quip in passing and it is always anti JKR if it is mentioned.

A lot of people tell me they just aren't interested, they just don't care about the issue so I thought, is it because I hang about here and on twitter and we talk about it all the time and really, it's a niche issue?

But no. There it is in the credits. But they won't talk about it.

I might have to get that necklace at payday! I've got my eye on this too...

Ah! I noticed the dinosaur necklace and wondered what it was all about. Now I get it ☺️

BridasShieldWall · 22/04/2022 21:51

I find it ‘interesting’ that they don’t cover it - it’s ripe for parody

Ah thank you. Not a bad price either. May buy one when I get paid.

IcakethereforeIam · 23/04/2022 10:30

Thank you @WeWillLookBack I've seen that style of necklace in the past and they are lovely.
I think tras on twitter use dinosaur and dragon emoji because they noticed them turning up in gc accounts and women can't have anything of our own,

PronounssheRa · 23/04/2022 10:20

If you Google labour party head office, then select 'photos' 😂

I have Dino shirt and a jumper that I wear to work. And my very talented sister told me that she was shopping for fabrics to make some shirts and dresses - and bought some Dino print material for me!!! Very excited - hope it’s a dress…

Whingasaurus · 23/04/2022 06:47

I'm gonna need that necklace I'm having lunch soon with a group of friends I've had for over 30 years. All lecturers or teachers and one of whom tried to cut me out of the group when I said I thought TWATW or men but can't be women and don't belong in women's sport. I haven't seen her for a while it's going to be interesting to see if she doubles down esp as KS was a contentious topic between us. I'm happy to not discuss it but the necklace is a nic silent protest. Interestingly I'm also now happy to lose friendships over this something I found very distressing at first.

Ah, thank you @Hoardasurass and @MaryAndHerNet - and here was me thinking Lammy was one of the more credible ones 🙄

The brass necks on us, eh, thinking we should be allowed to retain/have any rights?!

History as it happened. Mumsnetters respond to Lammy's remarks

Oooh I need that necklace! Anyone know where it is from?

Saw some similar ones on Etsy.

With apologies for my ignorance, is the (any?) dinosaur necklace a feminist symbol or something…?

<cough> It's why so many of us namechanged to something that sounded vaguely dinosaur-related. 🤗

I had a name change at one point to "bubonic plague" when Alex Sharpe likened "exclusive feminism" to "bubonic plague" on Radio 4's Woman's Hour.

I think it's hilarious he tried to insult.wmen and women were.just like,
"We like that, we're having it..."

Now at protests and such, amazing women in inflatable dinosaur costumes. It's great.

I think Ian is GC judging by private eye.

Of course he is! He's the voice of common sense.

Loveacuppa · 22/04/2022 23:09

On Amazon there is a "Menagerie Dinosaur Geometric Necklace" that looks similar.....

AreWeNearlyHairnet · 22/04/2022 21:35

They just mentioned the book list published this week that omits JK Rowling, but they didn't go there in terms of making any jokes or commentary about it. 🙁

HIGNFY is recorded over a longer period then edited down to the programme length. It is possible they did joke about it but it was edited out.

MaryAndHerNet · 22/04/2022 23:06

Hopefully there is a picture attached of the wonderful Sonia and the necklace.
