I would have loved to see Nehanda there

Needmoresleep · 11/04/2022 19:17

The Mail is one thing, but Tatler’s society pages would be more appropriate.

Appalonia · 11/04/2022 19:15

Isn't it amazing that a few years ago pp on this board were wondering what JK Rowling thought, and now we have this! Such fantastic progress 😁

Staffy1 · 11/04/2022 19:07

They forgot Kellie-Jay Keen, I think she deserved to be there.

bellinisurge · 11/04/2022 19:03

@BigWoollyJumpers yes I did. Revolting paper - no illusions about Daily Fail's motives - but eventually they will all have to cover it and they will all have to start listening.

bellinisurge · 11/04/2022 19:00

I love the love and support radiating among them. Just fantastic to see

@DoYouSeaWhatISea

Looks like an amazing get together!
This is like the authors' photo for the Annals of The Terf Wars

Could you not send one of your little wingéd cherubs with a message, Datun? It would be a bit like owl post.

Grin Suzanne Moore’s said she’s going to write about it in the Telegraph tomorrow.
SirSamVimesCityWatch · 11/04/2022 18:33

@Datun

I so hope they're cooking something up.

It was only last week that I wanted to telepathically ask J. K. Rowling to set up something that we could all contribute to.

Glorious stuff !

I'm so envious. Where's my invite JK?

Stomps.

QueenSue · 11/04/2022 18:18

What a bunch of total legends. Wine

@MaMaLa321

I loved the photos, but I wonder how those who were left out felt? Posie Parker has kept this going through sheer bloody-mindindness. But she seems to be the wrong sort of Feminist for some people. And Graham Lineham, who has sacrificed his career to the cause. Heather Brunskell Evans, who did a great talk at Bristol University.

It's great to see all those wonderful women, but there is also a trace of those horrible facebook posts of people having a great time when you weren't invited.

How do you know they were left out? They may not have been available. Please don't look for negatives. This is lovely!

The thing is they may have just not been available on the day or something, I really don't think it means they were deliberately excluded.

Hopefully this was just one of many lovely boozy meetings (with more to come) and I can understand why it was probably held in secret, lest some angry bloke in a skirt tuned up to flash them through the window or something - all in the name of being 'progressive'.

BigWoollyJumpers · 11/04/2022 17:22

@bellinisurge - Did you see you were namechecked in the Daily Mail??

DomesticatedZombie · 11/04/2022 17:17

The thing is, though, that I've just never seen women in politics talk about other women like this. It doesn't happen. It just isn't fucking relevant.

WinterTrees · 11/04/2022 17:12

Thanks for that photo Domesticated. Heather doesn't look at all how I imagined Heather would look, or like someone who should be passing judgement on the appearance of 'other women'.

DomesticatedZombie · 11/04/2022 16:28

Ah, I think sometimes archive links are auto-hid, Fluffy.

Fluffymule · 11/04/2022 16:23

I just posted a link to an archive of Heather Herberts twitter post, I noticed someone else had archived it late last night.

I didn't think it was against mumsnet rules, apologies if it is.

DomesticatedZombie · 11/04/2022 16:08

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

Is that allowed? I thought parties were pretty hot on expecting loyalty and longevity of allegiance.
I think it's all a lot more ... fluid .. these days.
SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 11/04/2022 16:03

Have The Monitors arrived?

I missed Fluffy's post but was expecting more pushback than we have had... so far!

ZaraSizeMedium · 11/04/2022 16:01

I’m not sure why @Fluffymule post was deleted MN? Nothing in it breaking any rules.

Nnique · 11/04/2022 15:59

What a fantastic bunch of women!! To see them all together like that is absolutely wonderful, powerful stuff.
