Is something going on in the Green Party?

Joined to vote for Shahrar Ali, left when I realised they were beyond saving.

Got a member's survey this morning all about equality, diversity and protected characteristics. It actually mentioned sex at least once.

Had a lovely time with all the free text boxes but am wondering what prompted it...

I've been told that it was commissioned by the leadership as part of their equality and diversity remit, and has been sent to a random sample of members. I haven't got one.
If you have got it, I suggest making good use of the free text boxes! I hear the way it's worded is daft at best.

Thanks for the thread. I went back in my email ‘bin’ and found it. I had a lovely rant about the disgraceful way in which women have been treated.

I can't help wondering why there was no attempt to ensure the security of the webpage if it was for members only. How are the party ensuring the link isn't given to non-members generally? Or is it only MN threads which are subject to authoritarian monitoring?

DomesticatedZombie · 10/04/2022 13:49

I htink that's unlikely, OP, but you could email them and check. Usually you'll get an email if you've got a strike.

teawamutu · 10/04/2022 13:32

@MNHQ apologies for sharing the link, didn't mean to cause a problem.

Will this count as a strike, does anyone know?

I still haven't received mine, my name is in the middle of the alphabet, I've been looking out for it.

DomesticatedZombie · 09/04/2022 22:32

Apparently members were selected at random to complete the form.

luciatrope · 09/04/2022 21:24

Elections coming up? 🤔

Voice0fReason · 09/04/2022 21:22

I haven't had mine yet.
Looking forward to completing it.

Unfortunately I'm in Scotland so can never vote green again until that vile misogynist Harvie has gone. Glad to see a potential glimmer of hope for you southerners though.

StillWeRise · 09/04/2022 20:37

no- my surname is definitely in the first half of the alphabet
maybe they're starting in the south?

StillWeRise · 09/04/2022 20:36

I've just looked at the members site- nothing there

CrossPurposes · 09/04/2022 20:33

@StillWeRise

I just checked junk, it wasn't there maybe it just takes a while to email the whole party?
My surname begins with S maybe it's the first half of the alphabet first Confused
Barrawarra · 09/04/2022 20:31

I am a member who has recently left and I got the survey today, also enjoyed filling it in. It had some reasonable questions like ‘do you identify as cis or transgender’ and had an option ‘I use neither term’. And a free text to qualify that cis is offensive. But generally it was written with the tone of ‘silly transphobes are just uneducated and need training’ kinda thing.

Thanks for flagging, I'm in the same situation (Shahrar supporter) and had missed this survey. Filled a fun ten minutes putting the kids to be Smile

I'm a Green Party member. Why have so many of us not received this link, please?
yodaforpresident · 09/04/2022 19:42

I haven’t got it either and I’m a member. Maybe only some members are considered worth listening to.

Gosh, doesn't that sound like "No debate"? Good friend of mine is in middle of this mess-of-their-own making in the GP at the moment..accusations of wrong think and threats of expulsion if she doesn't follow the party line on gender ideology . She's an amazing woman-hard working and principled, also a life-long lesbian who's seen transmisogyny close up while trying to defend the right to same-sex attraction I care about my friend but I wouldn't waste my vote on this party.
glitterfarts · 09/04/2022 18:48

I was a lifelong green voter, but will likely vote Tory next election. As a mum to 2 daughters, women's rights is my number 1 issue and I will not vote for a party who refers to men as women and women as non-men.
I had a look at the survey and it looks to me like the same gender waffle which is trying to take away rights from women.

Somewhat unrelated, but why is it always the Green Party advocating the erasure of the female sex? I have examples from several countries.
