'if you don't want a world where the borders of what it is to be a woman are policed why are you trying to police the border of what it is to be a feminist?'

Clymene · 07/04/2022 10:39

Go Emma!!

Oh fuck off Grace. We see you

Threadbaretoe · 07/04/2022 10:39

around 91% of males and 88% of women can conceive during their fertile years. No fertility issues come from not knowing one's role in reproduction. How is which role one plays an idea of patriarchy?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/04/2022 10:39

It would be great if Lavery could definitively peak Emma.

tabbycatstripy · 07/04/2022 10:39

Go Emma. Go Emma. Go Emma.

Clymene · 07/04/2022 10:38

@ginghamstarfish

I've been half listening to this, don't know who the interviewee is, but what a load of bollocks, doesn't seem to believe in biology or science so not sure why the public might be interested in his views. The interviewer is crap too, and poor at challenging him. She's asking the right questions but that's all.
Oh it's quite deliberate. Hoist by their own petard I believe the phrase is.
WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 10:38

Oh jesus... my head just exploded at the Caitlyn Jenner bit.

And now the sex-based rights BULLSHIT.

It was funny and now I'm getting angry.

As is Emma.

LittleSnakes · 07/04/2022 10:38

Looolllllll!!!!

DomesticatedZombie · 07/04/2022 10:38

'how can you say that with such surety'

God give me the confidence, etc ...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/04/2022 10:38

I hope Helen Joyce is listening to this!

DomesticatedZombie · 07/04/2022 10:38

Please to be the naturally occurring organic type of woman.

A profound historical novelty? Fuck off, mate. You cheeky revisionist bullshitter.

tabbycatstripy · 07/04/2022 10:37

The notion that there is a natural organic type called “female person” is a novelty, apparently.

'There are those who will believe that you will never fully become a woman'

Grin those meanies.

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 07/04/2022 10:37

Tits, not ties!

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 07/04/2022 10:36

Did Grace say earlier that women are basically just a pair of ties?!

Clymene · 07/04/2022 10:36

Grace is making the point again that gender critical views are shaped by patriarchy. This is such a batshit argument.

Bobnotpop · 07/04/2022 10:36

I love Emma saying “(she put it ) cis gender’.

Lynnthesearesexnotgenderpeople · 07/04/2022 10:36

Can you imagine this conversation on the radio 2 or 3 years ago?!

tabbycatstripy · 07/04/2022 10:36

Getting testy...

Patriarchy tells us (apparently) that there is a naturally occurring organic type (female).

Ha ha ha.

“Difficult to think one’s way out of structures...”

Ha ha ha.

DomesticatedZombie · 07/04/2022 10:36

'A naturally occurring organic type' Grin

Mind warped by patriarchy! Ha!

terryleather · 07/04/2022 10:36

@tabbycatstripy

This is the most middle class thing I have ever heard. It’s a work of staggering bourgeoisness.
Luxury beliefs and pseudo realities imposed on us lessers by the most privileged in society - why the fuck does anyone fall for this arsewash?
WinterTrees · 07/04/2022 10:35

Grace thinks that dropping the word 'patriarchy' every 40 seconds makes her the most womanly oppressed woman ever to be a womanly woman.

nauticant · 07/04/2022 10:35

EB now asking GL about sport and Harper's comment that transwomen maintain their advantage and so women are concerned about fairness, and leads to her asking whether there's such a thing as the female body. GL's answer is untranscribable.

LolaLouLou · 07/04/2022 10:35

@bellinisurge

We need more of these wankers on mainstream programmes to show what a ridiculous pile of shite this is. More sunlight
Yes. This interview has really cheered me up after a crazy week. Love the use of the word 'penis' throughout.
