Can't see another thread yet.

I just want to say thank you for everything you are doing. Thanks

@Apollo441 I have nothing to apologise for.

Thelnebriati · 02/04/2022 14:51

Stop pretending a fake account is genuine.

soregums · 02/04/2022 14:46

@devildeepbluesea apologies for having a life and not immediately responding, some of us have things to get on with other than posting on threads all day.

@NeinDanke disingenuous? How? For having an opinion different to yours? Twitter banned an account ages ago. He may very well have another account. Twitter have a pretty high threshold before banning users so I wish I had seen those comments to draw my own opinion.

@NecessaryScene what makes you think I'm a new poster? I've been a regular poster on MN for about a decade. I change user names to protect my privacy. Any of the MN admins will happily look at my account and verify that for you.

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 02/04/2022 14:15

I very much enjoyed the Rebecca Harry’s description of one of the TRAs that has been litigating against Glinner in that piece.

I understand that there has been recent legal actions between the DM and that TRA too.

Apollo441 · 02/04/2022 14:05

Is @soregums going to come back and apologise for posting TRA disinformation? Or just scuttle off having been revealed? I'm with GL and I am grateful for his unswerving courage in the face of the unrelenting harassment.

DrLouiseJMoody · 02/04/2022 13:48

Whether or not one agrees with Graham's tone isn't the point here: he was doxed and harassed by the very people that, lacking any insight, consider themselves victims. Adrian Harrop, as the entire world now knows and as any new employer will see the moment they research him, was suspended for one month (which is precisely what the GMC asked for) for abusing me and three others. He was not "defending trans rights", but rather, being a deeply abusive individual who thought it normal to dox, threaten, and cyberstalk (which is stalking). He has no recourse to complain when anyone states this since it is quite clearly spelt out in the GMC determination.

This behaviour does impact upon one's personal relationships and we don't always act in ideal ways (what is the ideal way when you are plunged into insanity?). My wife, for example, was frightened when our address was posted on-line (I was just angry since I consider the abusive personality disordered not especially bright man who did it an absolute joke). After she died, the same TRAs had / have the gall to post that she was a victim of "domestic abuse" - the only people that abused her were TRAs and certain "friends" who saw her as a prop to use in their campaign against "Terfs" (and by extension me).

I completely understand his anger. Of course, we should introspect upon our own responses (I could have been less reactive dealing with some things but then the invasion of my life was / is extreme and there's no "script" for when abusers abuse). It's clearly much more nuanced than "Graham lost the plot" or "TRAs are 100% to blame", but he certainly has legitimate complaint about what has been taken from him. I see nothing incorrect in the DM article. If others do, they might contemplate suing.

Again.

@Calpolly

That's what happened to Glinner and why he was given a harassment warning following a dispute on Twitter

That's just his side of the story, who knows why they really seperated? TBH it's none of our business and him repeatedly blathering on about it in the national press and on TV as the reason they split is disrespectful to his ex.

Believe it or not, he IS entitled to his side of his own fucking story. A certain TRA did indeed post his wife's address online and when these people who have previously been in jail for assault know where you live and publicly post it, it is fucking scarey
DERFDogmaExlusionary · 02/04/2022 12:18

Flowers thanks Graham Linehan

crumpet · 02/04/2022 11:13

No-one knows the insides of another person’s relationship, but it would be very surprising indeed if the stress, harassment (both of GL and his family) and financial troubles wasn’t a contributing factor.

He has done a huge amount to help lift Women’s rights issues to the surface, at a great personal cost. Doing what is right is not always the same as doing what is easy - thank you Graham.

Calpolly · 02/04/2022 11:08

Sorry my mistake @embarrassingHadrosaurus

I wasn't commenting on anything but the harassment warning aka Police Information Notices: the non-contestable nature of those is profoundly anti-democratic.

The Mail are doing sterling work covering this issue:

@Calpolly

TRAs maliciously reporting people to the police is 'disrespectful and unfair'

What's that got to do with his ex?

That's what happened to Glinner and why he was given a harassment warning following a dispute on Twitter: it's non-contestable and remains on his record (and those of other people who've had one which is very concerning).

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 02/04/2022 10:21

I'm not without a sense of frustration that it could well be the DM / Mail Online that acts as a key instrument in shaming our Tory Government into actually doing something about the way this deranged woo ideology is pervading all aspects of our society.

What a bloody farce.

NeinDanke · 02/04/2022 10:19

That's so obviously a fake account - but then, the interview you claimed to have read also mentioned his well-known Twitter ban. Somebody is being a bit disingenuous...

@soregums are you going to respond to the PP who have pointed out he’s no longer on Twitter? It’s just another TRA-created fake profile.

NecessaryScene · 02/04/2022 10:17

I wish he'd stop mentioning his seperation in these interviews, it's very disrespectful and unfair to his ex-wife.

Grin

Well, this thread is certainly bringing out some new posters with novel takes.

I do admit to being a little bit jealous of Graham managing to wind people up so much that they have to come up with this stuff.

I think the TRAs doxxing her was 'disrespectful an unfair'.

TRAs maliciously reporting people to the police is 'disrespectful and unfair'.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 02/04/2022 10:15

How can Graham have a Twitter feed when he's been banned for years?

More gobshite smearing him?

Anyway, it was a very powerful article about an equally powerful interview. The below-the-line comments are very supportive of Graham and his ex-wife Helen and their family.

Adrian Harrop gets a mention.

Wasn't Graham banned from Twitter ages ago? It's a fake account - do you have a link?
