As an aside, re the “fake” Twitter account. Anyone able to give more insight? I’m not on Twitter, si don’t understand how it operates. How is a fake account like that still available for all to see? WTF hasn’t it been deleted?

Furries · 03/04/2022 03:03

@soregums - seriously? I saw your first posts earlier today, but wasn’t able to respond. Having come back to the thread, I now see your early posts have been removed.

It was a “nice” try re smearing GL further, but obviously not successful.

chilling19 · 03/04/2022 00:31

Soregums - 'Twitter have a pretty high threshold before banning users...'

Now we know you are trolling - feminists have been routinely banned from Twitter for stating the obvious, beginning with Meghan Murphy a couple of years ago. Not sure who you think you are talking to on this board, but you will get pretty short shrift. This is not Twitter - instead it is a well reasoned, comprehensive discussion of the issues that are affecting the rights of women. Plopping a sentence, telling us all off (a la Twitter) really doesn't work here because you are up against a host of adult human females who know what the issues are and also know how to debate them.

keeptalkinghappytalk · 03/04/2022 00:13

Principled and brave as well as a comic genius… thank you Graham you’re just marvellous and all the girls and women you fight for know it xxx

Thelnebriati · 03/04/2022 00:06
@SpinningTheSeedsOfLove that one post has been deleted because I quoted a twitter post. That ironically wasn't deleted from twitter despite twitter apparently having a very low threshold to delete users.
BraveBananaBadge · 02/04/2022 19:42

The monstering Glinner has been getting on Twitter for this has been utterly horrendous, and I know it's nothing new, but today it really hit me how completely grotesque these people are. They really don't see him as a human being. I get how frightening it must be now.

Tonight he says it has brought lots more supporters his way though, so something of a slight silver lining there.

Twitter have a pretty high threshold before banning users

Funniest thing I've read today Grin

Be fair: you have to post an awful lot of rape and death threats to get banned from Twitter. Most of the misogynistic twits can’t get to that banning threshold no matter how hard they try. Just look at all the tweets that stay up.

Politely ask about women’s rights though and it’s straight to a ban.

@DrLouiseJMoody

Whether or not one agrees with Graham's tone isn't the point here: he was doxed and harassed by the very people that, lacking any insight, consider themselves victims. Adrian Harrop, as the entire world now knows and as any new employer will see the moment they research him, was suspended for one month (which is precisely what the GMC asked for) for abusing me and three others. He was not "defending trans rights", but rather, being a deeply abusive individual who thought it normal to dox, threaten, and cyberstalk (which is stalking). He has no recourse to complain when anyone states this since it is quite clearly spelt out in the GMC determination.

This behaviour does impact upon one's personal relationships and we don't always act in ideal ways (what is the ideal way when you are plunged into insanity?). My wife, for example, was frightened when our address was posted on-line (I was just angry since I consider the abusive personality disordered not especially bright man who did it an absolute joke). After she died, the same TRAs had / have the gall to post that she was a victim of "domestic abuse" - the only people that abused her were TRAs and certain "friends" who saw her as a prop to use in their campaign against "Terfs" (and by extension me).

I completely understand his anger. Of course, we should introspect upon our own responses (I could have been less reactive dealing with some things but then the invasion of my life was / is extreme and there's no "script" for when abusers abuse). It's clearly much more nuanced than "Graham lost the plot" or "TRAs are 100% to blame", but he certainly has legitimate complaint about what has been taken from him. I see nothing incorrect in the DM article. If others do, they might contemplate suing.

Again.

Flowers I know it has been hard for you too xx

More than 1,000 comments now. The vast majority supportive and top comments receiving thousands of likes.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/04/2022 17:44

I saw the full interview as I’m a subscriber to Glinner’s substack. I don’t know how anyone could see his pain and not be moved. Thanks to some amazing people, some sunlight is shining through. Incidentally he’s just had an influx of new subscribers off the back of the DM article.

@DrLouiseJMoody
I’m so sorry for the way you’ve been treated and for the loss of your wife. I hope you’ve found peace. Flowers

JoodyBlue · 02/04/2022 16:53

He is speaking of deliberate harrassment and stalking that threatened his family resulting in the loss of that family. He hadn't committed any crime. But he received no protection and notwithstanding no support is allowed to be publicly villified. Any decent person's heart would go out to him. This should not be allowed to happen. As a society we have a very long way to go in understanding the consequences of the internet for our personal freedoms and for the ability to arrive at a consensus as to what truth is. It is a worrying and peculiar world we are in at the moment. But I don't see how any decent person can't feel sympathy for Glinner.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 02/04/2022 16:32

Twitter have a pretty high threshold before banning users so I wish I had seen those comments to draw my own opinion.

Twitter has banned /suspended women for quoting Hansard. You might want to rethink your thoughts about that threshold.

Yes you do.

NecessaryScene · 02/04/2022 15:59

what makes you think I'm a new poster?

I was quoting Calpolly. If you're Calpolly too, I'm not sure using two names to shitpost on one thread is accepted practice.

You've been deleted.

I'd guess because your post was defamatory of Graham Linehan.

LauriePartridge4Eva · 02/04/2022 15:51

@Thelnebriati

The DM stop any comments trying to explain the situation, so all you are left with is a load of non factual opinions.

I posted around five comments explaining the situation but only one was posted....a reply to someone being a dick.

LauriePartridge4Eva · 02/04/2022 15:48

Matt Lucas is a dead loss. He signed that ridiculous letter along with other gay men, demanding that women give up their rights to men. And he did that AFTER women spoke to him of their concerns around it. It's hard to be let down by someone you thought was a friend, but Glinner is better off without a gutless man like that as his mate.

IsadoraQuagmire · 02/04/2022 15:46

@NeinDanke disingenuous? How? For having an opinion different to yours? Twitter banned an account ages ago. He may very well have another account. Twitter have a pretty high threshold before banning users so I wish I had seen those comments to draw my own opinion

Twitter ban users at the least provocation! They banned Graham for saying that men aren't women (they gave ME a temporary ban a couple of days ago just for being rude about Lia(r) Thomas Grin)

Abhannmor · 02/04/2022 15:39
@Circumferences that is not satire. I generally love his humour, father Ted and IT crowd are my two most favourite comedy shows. There's a difference between satire and being grossly offensive.
Not satire because its not Glinner.

HermioneWeasley · 02/04/2022 15:38

I can’t believe what he’s given up to stand up for women. I’m very grateful.

I can’t believe how he’s been abandoned. Spineless hypocrites.

I find it strange that they have an article on someone who has had their free speech stifled and life ruined by harassment and bullying for factual statements, and they then stifle free speech and factual statements on that article.

I wish the DM would stop moderating comments on any article vaguely related to the subject. There would be a lot more supportive comments for Graham without the moderation. The DM have had a few other very positive articles recently, other people who support womens rights and Sarah Vine’s sensible columns. Let’s hope it’s the start of noticeable change.
