Well this is all very surprising.

A former SNP campaign manager who is also a celebrated drag queen took photos of a half-naked drunken friend who was sleeping at his home, a court has heard.

An interesting thread from Malcolm Clark

1./ A cautionary Scottish tale? In a twist no one could have predicted a leading LGBTQ+ activist is in court. Nathan Sparling was one of the loudest of the loudmouths that defamed @JoanMcAlpine and spread untruths about @ForwomenScot and @ALLIANCELGB.

Strangely enough the guy's Twitter profile is still unlocked, though not used recently. Wonder if his devices were confiscated & he can't access his sm

I am as shocked to read such a thing about someone campaigning to remove safeguarding as I am to discover a drag Queen is a misogynist Hmm

Thanks for the share token!

That is not good. But wow, the wheels of justice turn slowly.

The incident allegedly took place in September 2019 and was reported to the police some months later. Sparling is presumably in court today (2 years later) and the hearing has been adjourned until next month for lack of court time.

Not keen on some of the victim blaming language used in the Times article tbh:
"The man told the court he had been left “confused” by the alleged incident and admitted he told no one or did anything about it at the time."

There is a very enlightening thread on Twitter joining the dots about the various unsavory, dubious & frankly criminal behaviour of some SNP politicians & their employees.

'Sparkling Creative Ltd'

PearPickingPorky · 28/03/2022 17:09

What is the 'PR firm' he now works for?

Apparently the photos were of the man's genitals. What a creep.

DomesticatedZombie · 28/03/2022 17:04

Is Angus Robertson not tipped to be the next leader of the SNP?

DomesticatedZombie · 28/03/2022 16:52

a former campaign manager for Angus Robertson, the constitution secretary, who was then the SNP’s Westminster leader

Shock

Sounds like a really distressing and disturbing incident.

'“If I had taken any photos it would have been as a joke.'

Hmm

From that Twitter thread:

"10./ Nathan's story matters because he was a member of an influential coterie of LGBTQ+ activists who whirl through revolving doors between Scottish lobby groups, institutions, charities and government ...promoting and then reinforcing distinctly dodgy policy."

Says it all really...
