New business on the block selling organic tampons via post and so on, called Yoppie. This is their instagram.

Text of instagram post:

'Most bleeders know how they are impacted by their period, but unfortunately aren't in touch with their feelings & symptoms in the other phases of their cycle. We are here to change that.'

I just can't stop laughing at this one. Grin

To be fair I think the post is taken out of context. Look at the rest of the posts on the Instagram page and they seem to be a very women friendly and empowering company. When you look at it in the context of the rest of their brand, I genuinely don't think she was meaning anything other than women who have periods as appose to women who don't have periods (menopause/contraception.. lots of women aren't actual 'bleeders') . This is a classic example of why you shouldn't pile on without looking a bit closer first.

tkwal · 15/03/2022 20:31

I do know that tampons are sometimes used on severe nose bleeds...does that count ? Grin

stimpyyouidiot · 15/03/2022 20:19

What the actual fuck

NotMeekNotObedient · 15/03/2022 20:14

Bleeders, Shitters and Jizzers - this tread has given me a good giggle.

I mean, I'm offended by this absolute nonsense of course.

homeappliances · 15/03/2022 20:13

I'm clueless to what this message even means. WTF Is Daniella Peri (menopause) even saying?

Bunnyfuller · 15/03/2022 20:08

First post here I’ve ever gone ‘eh’ to?

How does a tampon tell your feelings when it’s not in? I suspect it’s more about trying to be super knowing it all (they don’t) than gender fancy.

It’s like if a tree falls and no one hears it..,

😂😂😂😂😂🙈

I thought it was my bowel that gets impacted?

doublemonkey · 15/03/2022 20:01

Also there's this. I think maybe she's one of us. Maybe we need to hold off the pile on.

Women's Health is being censored. This #InternationalWomensDay we've joined The Menstrual Revolution with our friends FEWE to actively seek change for women's health censorship.

"Vagina" is one of the most frequently flagged terms by Facebook and recent research from the Centre for Intimacy Justice in the US found that 100% of the women's health companies surveyed had experienced Facebook/Instagram ad rejection and 50% had experienced suspension of the entire account.

We experience this censorship in the UK, day in and day out. Together we’re committing to gathering evidence of our collective experiences of Meta censorship to enable us to work to solve the problem. And now we want you to help us show Meta that our vaginas are not a violation and that language restrictions need to be lifted to allow women to talk openly about their bodies and health.

We have signed an open letter to let Meta know that a v@gina is NOT a violation - re-post this today to spread the message!

doublemonkey · 15/03/2022 19:57

Judging by one of her Linkedin articles she is fully aware of the difference between men and women in business is seems. I hope she can take the feedback and adjust because there is a huge need for better sanpro products.

Fundraising as a female founder

According to Just Entrepreneurs, “in 2011, female-founded companies received just 1.2% of all European VC investment. By 2020, this total had grown to 2.2% before falling to 0.7% in 2021.” There’s no doubt the pandemic has negatively impacted funding for female entrepreneurs and FemTech, but this is already rising to come back stronger.

The majority of decision-makers in FemTech are men, and currently, only 14% of VC investment goes to women-led startups. However, there has been a significant increase in funds (often championed by women) allocated to fund women's health enterprises.

As a female founder, I refuse to be viewed as a charity investment. No one should be investing in female founders in order to fill a quota. There is a real opportunity in backing the frontrunners who are tackling the massively underserved space of female-specific problems, from healthcare to hormones and beyond - and yes, many founders in this space will be women because we face these issues every day.^

Lesperance · 15/03/2022 19:56

Well, there we go. Isn't it nice when companies help us make easy choices with what not to buy?

On another note, interesting that they are marketing tampons as some kind of sticking plaster.

Seema1234 · 15/03/2022 19:38

It's just disgusting and dehumanising. We don't see products aimed at men described in such derogatory terms so why do they think we want this.

If they're trying to appeal to non binary people then why not say Women and people who menstruate. Bleeders is unnecessary and crude.

CrossOldWoman · 15/03/2022 19:37

Bleeders? Marketing written by clots more like...

MarshaBradyo · 15/03/2022 19:32

It is dehumanising

I feel so annoyed just reading it it’s hard to articulate

Ladybyrd · 15/03/2022 19:32

Blessed be the bleeders.

Bleeder!!?? The word makes me think of someone who’s had a horrendous injury and is bleeding out. Not very sensitive with regards to the current Ukraine situation.
Women, suffering the ways of men, but they don't bleed - only women do.
Ah thanks for that. A trip down memory Lane. Such a beautiful ballad.
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 15/03/2022 19:27

Bleeders?? I can remember that word equalling a term of abuse, as in e.g. ‘Tell that little bleeder to shut the fuck up!’

lemmein · 15/03/2022 19:18

It's a shame that they've just offended their whole customer base and those whose feelings they are pandering to don't need them 🙄

undermilkjug · 15/03/2022 19:17

DH has a bleeding disorder. I will inform him that there is a new product available to meet all his bleeding needs.

And yet many of these same people refuse to accept that the consumers of porn hub etc are invariably wankers?

Luredbyapomegranate · 15/03/2022 19:05

Fuck me. The misogyny is flowing out of that.

I just love being de-humanised.

What fuckers
