www.spectator.co.uk/article/has-the-good-law-project-been-dealt-a-blow-

“It cannot be supposed that the GLP now has carte blanche to bring any claim for judicial review no matter what the issues and no matter what the circumstances.

In other words, the Good Law Project is now the No Legal Standing Project. What a shame.

@nauticant

It most likely involves someone's child. Which is why speculation would be unhelpful.
And unfair, of course. For the record, I would never want a child subject to public attention, particularly one navigating tough issues

But JM is raking in thousands for a cause in which he clearly has a massive personal stake which has a bearing on his judgement, and I think that should be acknowledged somehow.

"I think we all bloody know but saying it on here would get you deleted and too much speculation will pull this thread."

It can't be the obvious because if he was trans he would literally never shut up about it

donquixotedelamancha · 17/02/2022 13:42

I'm still waiting for someone to say out loud why JM is so obsessed with this issue. There have been so many hints and all these outlets must know, but nothing said outright.

Just returned from a farm hole. As I suspected when I realised he was 50 and not well into his sixties as I had assumed from photos. Why do these men insist on inflicting their mid life crisis’ on everyone else, especially women?

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 17/02/2022 12:08

Oh yes indeed!

PronounssheRa · 17/02/2022 12:04

@TheAbbotOfUnreason

It’s very recent in the Harrop one (worth keeping up with for all sorts of reasons).
There are some very interesting recent updates 😀

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/02/2022 11:45

Is there a JM thread on there?

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 17/02/2022 11:36

The farmers have recently dropped heavy hints.

Pennox · 17/02/2022 11:04

Yes why are they so invested? Someone must know?

PronounssheRa · 17/02/2022 09:36

This is why I never contributed to anything GLP. You donate thinking you are doing one thing only for your donation to be diverted elsewhere and to something you might fundamentally disagree with.

The GLP should have engaged someone independent to JM to scrutinise where money is directed otherwise it may appear the GLP just funds JMs areas of interest

DomesticatedZombie · 17/02/2022 09:00

'It’s only buried in the small print of their crowdfunding pages that the GLP admit donations may be funnelled elsewhere, though not with any specific details. If the money is going to be spent on virtually anything that takes Jolyon’s fancy, the GLP could quite easily just promote their general donation page with no reference to specific cases. They don’t do that, because they know it would be far less lucrative...'

I get the feeling GLP have managed to piss people off left, right and centre.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/02/2022 08:18

That is appalling.

DdraigGoch · 17/02/2022 00:30

Anyone contributed to the fund to force the police to investigate "Partygate"? Well since the police already were investigating, your £100k will instead be going towards hounding the EHRC for their crime of asking the Scottish Government to "give more detailed consideration" to its plans before implementing them.

Whitefire · 16/02/2022 19:50

Where are the usual suspects who have a thing or two to say about money being donated to unsuccessful projects?

DomesticatedZombie · 16/02/2022 19:18

Moles are sort of browny coloured?

SeaRabbit · 16/02/2022 19:18

Currently advertising for a Financial Controller.

Any accountant willing to take one for the team, dye her hair blue call herself Carl, and become a mole?:

DomesticatedZombie · 16/02/2022 19:15

None of these people?

donquixotedelamancha · 16/02/2022 19:08

Out of interest, which regulatory body should be taking a look at this sort of thing?

None.

The charity commission would probably have issues with the honesty of how the fundraise, which is why they aren't a charity.

They pay tax on the money they gain because it goes on salary and 'legal fees'.

They aren't selling a product so trading standards won't touch it.

They avoid paying for advertising media so the ASA can't do them for fibbing.

They won't be stupid enough to reach the threshold of obvious malfeasance needed for the legal profession to step in- hence the apology when caught in a lie.

The UK (rightly) doesn't give government bodies the power to shut down organisations just for being run by a dick. People are allowed to give away their money.

Sophoclesthefox · 16/02/2022 18:02

And JM has the nerve to accuse GC women who are having to crowdfund of being on the grift

From a certain type of person, accusations are admissions.

I wouldn’t imagine this abject failure will make JM reconsider anything. As donquixote outlines, it seems that failure is already baked in.

DdraigGoch · 16/02/2022 17:20

People are donating in good faith off the back of this 'win' as spun by GLP

Fools and their money are soon parted.

terryleather · 16/02/2022 17:20

Oh how I adore the downfall of a sanctimonious prick prig...cannae come soon enough....

ScreamingMeMe · 16/02/2022 15:47

Well. This ia all very eye-opening.
