Apologies if there already a post on this.

Sex Matters has put together a survey about why single sex spaces matter if anyone would like to respond

Done but it was a massively biased and therefore useless survey.

@Whatsnewpussyhat - agree, obvs. The thread is interesting, they are actually talking about why they believe it's ok to have male people in their spaces - I have a counter argument for everything because I spend too long on here I am incredibly well read

It's allowed me to point out that there are no definitions of what "trans" is, and that is something for the TAs to do before we can make legislation. If Pip Bunce is an award winning woman twice a week then would Poorly Pip need to be on my ward on a Tuesday and my husband's ward on a Wednesday (caveat - I wish no harm on Pip/Philip and hope that they live a long and healthy life. Which means staying off the cross sex hormones as they'll give you a clot or a stroke or both, mate).

I think it's like here - I'm not going to change their minds, but there are lurkers. Who now know that "autogy..." (oops, can't post that word here!) know there is a thing to google and that a person who had that might be uncomfortable/scary for 13 year old girls to be around in a changing room.

I'll re post the survey on the thread. And add their criticism. And link to our chat.

Ripples work. It was a ripple that promoted me from Lib Fem to the hairy old bigot that I'm proud to be today.

Sunny morning bump :)

Dinosaurwoman · 16/02/2022 08:25

Filled in excellent, it’s good to feel that women’s voices are beginning to be heard

BettyFilous · 16/02/2022 08:25

I completed the survey and will now share it with my family and friends.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 16/02/2022 08:21

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

I'm getting some pushback on my social media from lib fems who say that the survey is biased because it only lets you comment if you want single sex spaces.

Which does, you know, seem a bit biased.

Anyone know why they'd do it that way?

Perhaps because a few women who are happy to centre penis havers, or penis havers wanting access to female only spaces, do not get to remove those safe spaces from the majority who want them to remain female only.

You protect the majority who are at risk because of their sex from those of the sex class who commit almost all VAWG.
The reasons why we are allowed female only anything have not magically disappeared because of the new religion of gender ideology.

It's all or nothing. You cannot allow 'some' males in. Especially with the absurdity of self ID.

Let the TRA's campaign for 3rd mixed sex spaces and leave single sex spaces alone because they give no shits about the females affected by their extreme male entitlement.

@YouSetTheTone

Done, and shared! My family have all filled it in. My DH, DF and DB appreciate single sex spaces too.. DM filled it in with grim determination as did my (millennial) DSis.

I don’t give a shit if a space is ‘mixed gender’ as long as it is single sex.
Teenaged girls who identify as boys? Fine. (And it is usually teens).
Men who identify as women? No thank you. (And it is usually men not teens…).

Done.

And I love that your whole family are backing this!

Thanks I’ve just completed this.

Graphista · 15/02/2022 19:22

Done

Glad to be able to DO something

One friend has apparently jumped on the woke wagon recently and 2 others are into the whole drag race crap! These are women I previously thought had their wits about them.

As per pps it feels good to be able to do SOMETHING!

As a woman living alone in Scotland sadly I'm not brave enough to risk the vitriol and harassment I'm seeing occur to others by being very vocal about this irl.

Does that make me a coward?

I do raise certain issues with my MP and MSP when I can but I find I have to be so careful how I word things - which also pisses me off!

I sort of feel like.... WOW.
Finally some grow ups have taken charge. There wasn't a "people with a cervix" in there or anything

Yes!

gave Girl Guides a right fucking pasting in my comments.

Me too!

It's fucking disgraceful what's happening with them!

My particular bugbear is how all this crap affects those of us who've experienced sexual assault (which imo and ime is most of us at some point!)

The way things have been going victims of Csa and rape have basically been told "suck it up" which is totally fucking out of order!

There are pockets of people with expertise who are organised and have a clear aim, and a massive, under recognised and growing swell of "WTF?" from women

Not just women thankfully my brother a FEW Men I know and feel safe enough to discuss this with when I've linked to certain incidents and they've seen stuff in the news etc they have very much been "wtf" and also "people saying it's no big deal generally aren't aware of these incidents/issues" which I agree with.

My brother for his sins, is a police officer but I like to think a good un. We don't agree on everything politically but on this he does - mainly because any legislation that makes it difficult to determine if someone did something wrong makes HIS job harder too!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/02/2022 13:28

I think it'll still say men can self-ID into women's single-sex facilities.

Yes I think it will keep the case by case nonsense which makes it meaningless.

EdithStourton · 15/02/2022 13:20

Done.

It was a pity that you couldn't comment on politics. I went back a box and wrote in that instead. I spoilt my ballot the last time I had the chance to vote.

PearPickingPorky · 15/02/2022 12:07

Sadly I don't have high hopes for the EHRC's upcoming guidance, despite recent shifts.

I think it'll still say men can self-ID into women's single-sex facilities.
