I saw this on Green Feminists on Facebook and, well, blimey! On top of Shahrar Ali and Emma Bateman's recent (and long term) treatment it seems a big purge is being touted.

"Sign the Women's Declaration International declaration on sex-based rights for women and you may run the risk of being thrown out of the Green Party.

Green Feminists who are also members of the Green Party of England and Wales need to be aware of the late motion being brought by Ani Stafford-Townsend co-chair of the Green Party Women committee which is given below:

Late Motion: Developing an intersectional approach to diversity in the Green Party

Synopsis:

GPEW accepts the damning results of the 25th January 2022 Council of Europe report “Combating rising hate against LGBTI people in Europe”. GPEW accepts that it has been subject to hard-line anti-trans activism for some time; issues cannot be tackled without understanding; and oppression of marginalised groups intersect.

Motion:

Insert into Record of Policy Statements:

RR539:

The Green Party recognises the need for civil, open dialogue between party members on the topic of Trans Rights, in order to enable the party to make the most informed policy decisions possible.

The Green Party accepts that the “Gender Critical” movements in most UK political parties have been infiltrated by hard-line extremists, who advocate for the wholesale removal of virtually all trans rights as currently enshrined in the Equality Act 2010, and routinely share platforms with those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people. These extremists have also been linked with attacks on women’s abortion rights, misinformation designed to provoke hatred towards trans people, and have benefitted from funding from the far-right.

The Green Party condemns hard-line anti-trans activists, including signatories of the “Women’s Declaration International”, which calls for the following:

A total ban on all trans women from entering any and all women’s spaces, including toilets, changing rooms, etc.

A ban on all internationally recommended trans healthcare of any kind on under 18s.

A ban on organisations that recognise Gender Identity (including policy that merely accepts the use of preferred pronouns) from having any involvement in children’s healthcare.

Legally protect the right to misgender trans women.

Ban trans women from being legally recognised as mothers, and trans men form being legally recognised as fathers.

Ban scientific research into fertility treatment for trans women.

Ban all trans women from misogyny combating measures, such as all women shortlists, scholarships, etc.

Ban all trans women and girls from women’s sports at all levels of competition, irrespective of the wishes of the organising sporting bodies.

Ban all trans women from women’s prisons.

Require all collected statistics to refer to trans women as male, and trans men as female.

Legally protect parents who seek to deny healthcare or therapy to transgender children.

The Green Party recognises that while many moderate gender critical party members may wish to discuss or debate some of the WDI demands, that collectively they represent a hard-line extremist view, involving what would be some of the most extreme anti-trans legislation in any country in Europe. The Green Party expresses regret that the Council of Europe report deems the UK as being on par with Russia, Poland and Hungary when it comes to LGBTI rights, and wishes to oppose any further worsening of our position.

Conference instructs :

Conference instructs GPRC to suspend signatories of the WHRC/Women’s Declaration International.

Conference instructs GPEx to provide intersectional equalities & diversity training to elected members, internally & externally, and to local party officers, in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the challenges to the rights of all marginalised groups intersect.

Insert into the Code of Conduct:

10.11:

Members should under no circumstances sign or have signed public declarations calling for the explicit removal of LGBTQIA+ rights, as enshrined in the Equality Act 2010 (under “gender Identity” and “sexual orientation”), in particular the WHRC declaration/Women’s Declaration International. Those members who do or have done so should be suspended from the party permanently."

Of all the insanity, is this the most insane thing to have an issue with?: Require all collected statistics to refer to trans women as male, and trans men as female.

Not one person benefits from telling lies. No one at all.

Rightsraptor · 12/02/2022 15:05

When Kathleen Stock was interviewed on radio by Iain Dale there was a TW who phoned in about KS having signed this letter. TW first said about the withdrawal of necessary healthcare but quickly moved on to stating that the declaration signatories are against uterine implants for TW. Too damn right we are. KS said as much, but it wasn't really picked up on beyond that, as it should have been.

It must be made clear that objections to trans 'healthcare' is absolutely not about denying them appropriate treatment for the medical conditions we can all have, but it is about not going down experimental routes. Especially not for children.

DontLikeCrumpets · 12/02/2022 14:54

@Deliriumoftheendless imo it is a clear reference to womb transplant research

Signalbox · 12/02/2022 14:12

@Rightsraptor

I'm a Green Party member, not remotely committed to it, but just so's I could vote. I have also signed the Women's Declaration.

I've always wanted to be thrown out of something or somewhere. I'd have preferred to be thrown out of a bar for dancing on the tables, but hey ho, any port in a storm. This will do.

Who do I message to admit my sins to?

I also have a sudden urge to 'fess up :D
anothersmahedmug · 12/02/2022 14:06

I suspect that sone people would get great joy from knocking women and green support in one paternalistic capitalist sweep

Helleofabore · 12/02/2022 13:55

Hello!?? Daily Mail????

That list in the OP needs to be published widely.

Some of it is overly dramatic. Some of it is really saying the quiet bits out loud. And the MSM need to amplify those saying the quiet bits to full volume.

If they are prepared to expel and ban anyone for disagreeing, privately or publicly, about most of those then the entire UK need to see this in action.

With this and Stonewalls latest move against the EHRC they are back to no debate but just under subterfuge. Because they still have no strong evidence to support them.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 12/02/2022 13:44

What a load of bollocks.

WellThatsMeScrewed · 12/02/2022 13:40

How does this apply to the environment?

As our world is destroyed by climate change, as our natural world is torn apart we need a party focused on making the governments across our national accountable for their actions that directly impact the environment.

That’s what I thought the Green Party stood for.

Instead we have this?

Artichokeleaves · 12/02/2022 13:33

What a lot of fictionalised, over dramatic tosh. They still haven't clicked that shouting something a lot doesn't make it true. It's honestly like trying to deal with a young teenager in a strop.

highame · 12/02/2022 13:32

I imagine any women thrown out of the party for signing a document in support of women's rights might get themselves lots of interviews in main stream media.

Deliriumoftheendless · 12/02/2022 13:27

@Ereshkigalangcleg

Ban scientific research into fertility treatment for trans women.

If they mean "uterus implants into males" it's already illegal.

This stood out to me as well.

What exactly does it mean?

What fertility treatment do they refer to? If a transwoman wants to impregnate their female partner would they not have the same opportunities as other men if they weren’t successful?

Realistically what are they saying because womb transplants aren’t exactly something the general public would associate with the Greens are they?

It’s not exactly clear is it?

ScreamingMeMe · 12/02/2022 13:15

@BoyGirlDogCatMouseCheez

I think it's accessible on the WDI website, albeit with just name and country and in a very user unfriendly format. It is absolutely bonkers. The mindset is baffling to me.
Iirc, Katy Montgomerie was doing some work on identifying the signatories.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/02/2022 13:08

Ani Stafford-Townsend

Is this the woman who works for Gender GP or am I misremembering?

lovelyweathertoday · 12/02/2022 13:06

@YetAnotherSpartacus

Hang on - "those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people" - who is doing the sterilizing?

It's brilliant isn't it. I think it comes from women thinking it's irresponsible to get pregnant when on testosterone due to possible adverse effects on the baby. It's not anything women are campaigning for, we are mostly just asking for the law as it stands to be implemented.

titchy · 12/02/2022 13:03

When will this motion be proposed?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/02/2022 13:03

“lovelyweathertoday

That level of authoritarianism is scary. Not to mention how utterly barmy it is. Of course a father shouldn't be recorded as a mother on a birth certificate!“

It has just been allowed after all in France I saw. I’ll try to find a link.

ScrollingLeaves · 12/02/2022 12:55

A ban on all internationally recommended trans healthcare of any kind on under 18s.

For ‘healthcare’ read mutilation by surgery, and holding back development and causing physical harm with puberty blockers.

A ban on organisations that recognise Gender Identity (including policy that merely accepts the use of preferred pronouns) from having any involvement in children’s healthcare.
In reality not setting confused children onto a path towards transition when they are already confused and troubled.

Legally protect the right to misgender trans women.
? Does this mean by not agreeing that they are lesbians?

Ban trans women from being legally recognised as mothers, and trans men form being legally recognised as fathers.

Or, in other words, being against telling children a lie and pretending something biologically impossible is true.

Ban scientific research into fertility treatment for trans women.
I don’t know what this is about. Transwomen do not have a womb and ovaries. Are trans women banned from having fertility treatment for their male sperm production?

Ban all trans women from misogyny combating measures, such as all women shortlists, scholarships, etc.
In other words stop people who have had the advantages and experiences of being male from taking the places of women whose different experiences and disadvantages mean opportunities to them have formerly been closed, or that their diverse experience could benefit a community.

Ban all trans women and girls from women’s sports at all levels of competition, irrespective of the wishes of the organising sporting bodies.
This is because it is ludicrous for a male body to compete against a female body. Testosterone alone does not rebalance the difference.

Ban all trans women from women’s prisons.
Because men are not allowed in women’s prisons. Woman have a right to safety from men, and women in prisons are amongst the most vulnerable and abused in our society.
More men than women are violent, or have committed sexual crimes. Some trans women are among that number.

Require all collected statistics to refer to trans women as male, and trans men as female.
Statistics are used for scientific and social analysis. They are useless if they do not include biological facts.

Legally protect parents who seek to deny healthcare or therapy to transgender children.
Of course parents should be legally protected when they seek support their child without them resorting to things which could well harm them. Most parents are crying out for talking therapy for their children to explore their unhappiness.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/02/2022 12:49

Where do I find gender identity in the EA 2010.

They are insane. Sharing this far and wide is the most useful thing we can do.

We want dialogue

But we are big going to listen because we have decided what you are saying

anothersmahedmug · 12/02/2022 12:01

And I though one of our common concerns was the sterilisation of young transgender girls

How dare they pretend we support sterilisation
