I saw this on Green Feminists on Facebook and, well, blimey! On top of Shahrar Ali and Emma Bateman's recent (and long term) treatment it seems a big purge is being touted.

"Sign the Women's Declaration International declaration on sex-based rights for women and you may run the risk of being thrown out of the Green Party.

Green Feminists who are also members of the Green Party of England and Wales need to be aware of the late motion being brought by Ani Stafford-Townsend co-chair of the Green Party Women committee which is given below:

Late Motion: Developing an intersectional approach to diversity in the Green Party

Synopsis:

GPEW accepts the damning results of the 25th January 2022 Council of Europe report “Combating rising hate against LGBTI people in Europe”. GPEW accepts that it has been subject to hard-line anti-trans activism for some time; issues cannot be tackled without understanding; and oppression of marginalised groups intersect.

Motion:

Insert into Record of Policy Statements:

RR539:

The Green Party recognises the need for civil, open dialogue between party members on the topic of Trans Rights, in order to enable the party to make the most informed policy decisions possible.

The Green Party accepts that the “Gender Critical” movements in most UK political parties have been infiltrated by hard-line extremists, who advocate for the wholesale removal of virtually all trans rights as currently enshrined in the Equality Act 2010, and routinely share platforms with those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people. These extremists have also been linked with attacks on women’s abortion rights, misinformation designed to provoke hatred towards trans people, and have benefitted from funding from the far-right.

The Green Party condemns hard-line anti-trans activists, including signatories of the “Women’s Declaration International”, which calls for the following:

A total ban on all trans women from entering any and all women’s spaces, including toilets, changing rooms, etc.

A ban on all internationally recommended trans healthcare of any kind on under 18s.

A ban on organisations that recognise Gender Identity (including policy that merely accepts the use of preferred pronouns) from having any involvement in children’s healthcare.

Legally protect the right to misgender trans women.

Ban trans women from being legally recognised as mothers, and trans men form being legally recognised as fathers.

Ban scientific research into fertility treatment for trans women.

Ban all trans women from misogyny combating measures, such as all women shortlists, scholarships, etc.

Ban all trans women and girls from women’s sports at all levels of competition, irrespective of the wishes of the organising sporting bodies.

Ban all trans women from women’s prisons.

Require all collected statistics to refer to trans women as male, and trans men as female.

Legally protect parents who seek to deny healthcare or therapy to transgender children.

The Green Party recognises that while many moderate gender critical party members may wish to discuss or debate some of the WDI demands, that collectively they represent a hard-line extremist view, involving what would be some of the most extreme anti-trans legislation in any country in Europe. The Green Party expresses regret that the Council of Europe report deems the UK as being on par with Russia, Poland and Hungary when it comes to LGBTI rights, and wishes to oppose any further worsening of our position.

Conference instructs :

Conference instructs GPRC to suspend signatories of the WHRC/Women’s Declaration International.

Conference instructs GPEx to provide intersectional equalities & diversity training to elected members, internally & externally, and to local party officers, in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the challenges to the rights of all marginalised groups intersect.

Insert into the Code of Conduct:

10.11:

Members should under no circumstances sign or have signed public declarations calling for the explicit removal of LGBTQIA+ rights, as enshrined in the Equality Act 2010 (under “gender Identity” and “sexual orientation”), in particular the WHRC declaration/Women’s Declaration International. Those members who do or have done so should be suspended from the party permanently."

My traditional cut and paste of what I wrote before about womb "transplants":

I'll write what I always write when this comes up. This business of uterine "transplants" into men appears to be about science but it is not. It's about getting the idea out there that men can give birth too, but not just yet, there are a few technical details to be sorted out first. So while we're waiting for the inevitable, let's get on with the social sciences side of things and accept that since men can give birth too (not yet, but soon, soon, it's bound to happen), then there are no real differences between men and women in terms of things that are material and significant, they're just bodies with an interchangable set of parts. The actual differences are surface ones like the chosen forms of appearance.

It is about trying to change how people think by assuming a medical horror is a run-of-the-mill thing just round the corner. It's Overton Window stuff, not science.

Please feel free to point out the erroneous smears against Emma re sterilisation on twitter. A number of individuals proclaimed it recently.

WarriorN · 12/02/2022 18:19

I signed it yonks ago. Pre green membership.

This is along the lines of "check your thinking" or a "if your name's on the list you're not coming in" bouncer mentality.

@YetAnotherSpartacus

Hang on - "those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people" - who is doing the sterilizing?
That's what I thought Spartacus. Has anyone here ever seen anyone advocating for the forced sterilization of trans people? I thought this was what we were objecting to with kids being medicalised?
AnnieLobeseder · 12/02/2022 18:17

That transmen appear absolutely nowhere in that diatribe speaks volumes.

WarriorN · 12/02/2022 18:17

I've just signed that declaration, thanks for the link. I'm a Green Party member, joined to vote for Shahrar Ali Smile it's not a real fit for me but I felt politically homeless. Is it worth staying as a member?

That's the spirit Grin

CompleteGinasaur · 12/02/2022 18:12

Someone should bring this to the attention of Labour's heads of policy as a graphic example of where Labour will end up in the not too distant future if they don't rein in/expel their own TRA Militant Tendency.

WarriorN · 12/02/2022 18:10

@anothersmahedmug

And I though one of our common concerns was the sterilisation of young transgender girls

How dare they pretend we support sterilisation

I think this is around self ID. I don't know for sure but It could be that they want men to be able to say they're women without surgery.

Which is fine but keep the fuck out of women's spaces and don't gaslight everyone. And wot JKR said.

WarriorN · 12/02/2022 18:07

@Ereshkigalangcleg

They just sound like a bunch of narcissistic, angry children, not a responsible political party. Purge all the GC people then, and your party will turn into Lord of the Flies.

Hmm I was just reflecting on when I'm only allowed to refer to my 3yr old as a chick.

This can be stopped. Spring conference online is going to be dramatic.

"Spring Conference is 4 - 6 March, entirely online and there are important motions to support - Disaffiliation from Stonewall; Ensuring Sex & Gender are Not Conflated. And to oppose - Queerphobia. Cost is £45; £25 low-waged; £10 unwaged. So do attend if you can! And would be great to see you all at Green Party Women events and EGM."

The implanted uterus was again foisted on us by a tra visitor last night. It is coming up more regularly now. And each time it is terribly sad to see some posters actually believe it to be possible. And one last month declared a pregnancy in the implanted uterus was just a few year away.

The medical researchers pushing this as a legitimate possibility should be ashamed of the harm they are doing. Carrying a baby in an implanted uterus is extremely u likely until they can implant all the female processing centres and delivery mechanisms to monitor and grow a foetus.

With so many females suffering losses due to the incredible complexity of pregnancy, it blows my mind that any person can think this is actually possible.

And that the amount of synthetic drugs and substances needed to be taken in by that foetus would be ever healthy for it.

But then I remember. It is never actually about the child in these cases. Is it?

PronounssheRa · 12/02/2022 17:44

At a time where the green party should be most relevant it's being driven off a cliff by extremists who have no interest in environmental issues. But I'm not surprised, after the challenor mess.

The people driving this and the leadership should be fucking ashamed that they are making the greens unelectable. those in the party who do actually care about the environment might have to split and form a new group.

Toseland · 12/02/2022 17:42

Blimy I think they are bloody furious after EmB’s speech at Speaker’s Corner.
This bit about sterilisation was one of the accusations levelled at EmB when she was suspended. I think they mean Posie. ”routinely share platforms with those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people.” (they use US spelling oddly do you think that’s copied and pasted from the orders from Trans High Command?).
This bit is a threat: they always mention ‘attacks on abortion rights’.
”These extremists have also been linked with attacks on women’s abortion rights, misinformation designed to provoke hatred towards trans people, and have benefitted from funding from the far-right.”
It’s mostly hysterical nonsense.
Go Posie and Emma!

drum123 · 12/02/2022 17:29

On the subject of a baby being born from an implanted uterus, how would it be reported i? 'A man has given birth' - nope, that's transphobic as TWAW. 'A transwoman has given birth' - transphobic again for the same reason. 'A woman has given birth' - well, that's no good, no one would pay any attention to that. 'A person who is a man, but says he is a woman, has given birth' - that's the closest to the truth and perfectly covers the batshit craziness of it all. I suppose it would depend on how much attention the new uterus haver craved - and we all know how much that would be!

VelvetChairGirl · 12/02/2022 17:23

routinely share platforms with those who advocate for extremist positions such as the mass sterilization of trans people

Erm that'll be the TRAs themselves as thats what medical transitioning does Confused

@Rightsraptor

Katy was it? I had no idea of Katy's voice, so didn't recognise it (for the benefit of the moderators and the wrong-think detectors, the 'it' here refers to the voice, not Katy).

I'd love that aspect of their beliefs to get more airtime - it's so stark, staring bonkers and I'd stake the farm on it being utterly repellant to the vast majority of the British public.

It all needs more airtime. The more bonkers stuff the better. So many people I know irl have peaked recently. The ones still doubling down are the heavily invested previously very vocal ones. If there was a way they could retreat whilst saving face I think many would take it. Too many people don't seem able to put their hands up and say, "I was wrong. I didn't think this through enough."

Looks like the bit about suspending members (permanently) has had to be removed from the motion. Interesting list of co-proposers.

CatsOperatingInGangs · 12/02/2022 16:11

@Rightsraptor

When Kathleen Stock was interviewed on radio by Iain Dale there was a TW who phoned in about KS having signed this letter. TW first said about the withdrawal of necessary healthcare but quickly moved on to stating that the declaration signatories are against uterine implants for TW. Too damn right we are. KS said as much, but it wasn't really picked up on beyond that, as it should have been.

It must be made clear that objections to trans 'healthcare' is absolutely not about denying them appropriate treatment for the medical conditions we can all have, but it is about not going down experimental routes. Especially not for children.

I’m pretty sure it was Katy Montgomery who called up.
yetanotherusernameAgain · 12/02/2022 15:46

I thought the point about "mass sterilisation" is in response to people highlighting the large proportion of transwomen who keep their male genitalia. TRAs try to claim that people who are uncomfortable with TW having male genitalia in effect want to force TW to have surgery, even if they don't want it (ie against their will). Hence the hyperbole about "mass sterilisation".

yetanotherusernameAgain · 12/02/2022 15:36

@WellThatsMeScrewed

How does this apply to the environment?

As our world is destroyed by climate change, as our natural world is torn apart we need a party focused on making the governments across our national accountable for their actions that directly impact the environment.

That’s what I thought the Green Party stood for.

Instead we have this?

It doesn't apply to the environment. The Green Party ceased being solely focused on environmental issues years ago. As they developed into mainstream politics they had to broaden their issues to include everything that government is involved in (education, health, taxation, foreign policy etc). They're now a very left wing party, bordering on batshit crazy.
DomesticatedZombie · 12/02/2022 15:20

This'll definitely make the green party seem more reasonable and electable.

I would say this motion is extremist. Also discriminatory on the grounds of sex.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/02/2022 15:18

Yes I'm not sure implanting uteruses into males is really in tune with the Green ethos.

Deliriumoftheendless · 12/02/2022 15:11
@Deliriumoftheendless imo it is a clear reference to womb transplant research
Is this really what Green voters want?

Or any members of the public?

No.
