Child protection crises in NI (Stonewall partner The Rainbow Project & others)

Stonewall partner with The Rainbow Project in NI. Remember Yaniv's all-ages topless swim events? Here's The Rainbow Project asking for donations to keep theirs going (they say 'wear whatever is comfortable'). We're putting in a complaint to the PSNI (who are captured) and to the Charity Commission (who we hope are not). Please share this far and wide. Shocking breach of child protection, and no-one seems to be noticing.

Odd isn't it - no matter how many times the Intersex organisations ask, demand, plead with transactivists not to appropriate them in tra battles, they are always ignored. On and on it goes - the disrespectful treatment of the intersex community.

@Linguini

Anyway, I believe the correct turn of phrase has moved past "intersex" and onto "people with a disorder of sexual development" which I agree is more accurate.

People can't be "half way" or "in between" the sexes.
People of either sex can have developmental disorders.

Most intersex organisations still use the term.
barleybadminton · 04/02/2022 20:12

@Linguini

All intersex people are either male or female and most of the time obviously so. Intersex people should use facilities designated for their sex, trans people should too.

It really isn't complicated.

Well it is if your appearance is not inline with whatever we've decided constitutes biological sex this week. Hence services like this, where intersex people can go swimming without having to worry about people accusing them of being in the wrong space.

@Triphazards

It's not exactly going to be packed out with crowds of "intersex" people.

They just stick the intersex word in everywhere, to try to give transgender etc. some sort of medical authenticity by association.

Maybe intersex people would like to go swimming too without people gawping at them or accusing them of being in the wrong changing room?
SexNotGenderNI · 04/02/2022 17:07

@Triphazards We're very annoyed about that too. We've been sent 'training materials' (using the term loosely) by activists spreading awful nonsense about 'intersex' conditions too.

@FOJN we have all the same questions. Shocking failure of all concerned - can't believe we're as bad as Canada on this one! Plain sight.

@theinebriati People are so scared of being accused of -phobia they don't question men in women's spaces even in places that don't have self ID. People have been sending us stories of that in NI leisure centres, for example. We're on to the press about it.

How many of these events have there already been? The promo says they need funding to keep it running. How has this just come to light?

Are the people who organise these events DBS checked and are any of them required to undertake safeguarding training.

DomesticatedZombie · 04/02/2022 16:57

Oof.

Thelnebriati · 04/02/2022 16:50

Whats the deal with single sex sessions in countries with self ID? I assume they are effectively illegal.
