Great article in Spiked Online about Mridul Wadwha's latest shenanigans:

www.spiked-online.com/2022/02/01/the-thought-police-are-here/

To briefly summarise:

  • Mridul was born male
  • Mridul is legally male with no GRC
  • Mridul is the CEO of Edinburgh Rape crisis
  • Mridul claims women who want female only rape crisis services are bigoted and should 'reframe their trauma'
  • The CEO of a domestic violence charity Nicola Murray stopped referring women to Mridul's rape crisis service due to Mridul's misogyny
  • Mridul reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime
  • The police actually visited Nicola Murray to question her thinking

And for further clarity,

Tell us barley do you think that Mridul Wadhwa has cares for women? Or do they always prioritise their own political agenda progressing trans people even when the conflict between the two groups is clear?

This person has been clear that women not agreeing that they are ‘a woman’ in any way, are transphobic. Hence the topic of their tweet.

Helleofabore · 05/02/2022 19:34

No ‘has’ needed.

Helleofabore · 05/02/2022 19:33

I will spell it out for the readers.

Twisting a tweet that also mentions transphobia, knowing Mridul Wadhwa’s historical opinion of women who don’t agree that Wadhwa is a woman, is a disingenuous move.

Of course people on this thread, including me, would not be questioning their discussions on racism. Well, maybe some would if they have information that is relevant. But it is not the focus of this thread which is this person’s attitude toward women.

And you barley are simply trying distractive measures yet again to derail a thread. Sparple, sparple, sparple.

Tell us barley do you think that Mridul Wadhwa has cares for women? Or do they always prioritise their own political agenda progressing trans people even when the conflict between the two groups is clear?

Oh how clever. You want me to say Mridul so you can say ha she's not a women. Bored of your infantile games now.

Not a woman neither are they Muslim, so not quite sure why they mention islamophobia?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/02/2022 19:25

They’re not a woman hth

barleybadminton · 05/02/2022 19:16

@OldCrone

Are you obecting to an Asian woman being angry about racism now?

Who is the Asian woman you're referring to barley?

It's apparent that many of the scolding posts on here from anti women posters come via google (other search engines are available) .
Which is why they rarely demonstrate any analysis or rationale and are certainly nothing to do with feminism or women's rights, they're more a series of attempted gotchas.

barleybadminton · 05/02/2022 18:56

@Helleofabore

It is just another one of barley’s twisting posts to suit their agenda. Which seems to be to shame women… but I could be wrong.
I'm not twisting anything. This is the quote you appeared to object to in which Mridul clearly articulates she is angry about the racism she recevies:

The goddess Kali destroys evil and she is violent. Evil can be destroyed without violence which is what I do. Kali is just the manifestation of that
energy. Your racist, transphobic, islamophobic trolling only keeps me going. keep at it, the hate burns you not me.

I just asked why you have a problem with that?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 05/02/2022 18:44

Sadly for Barley, I have seen enough racism from TRAs. Like assuming mixed race women are wearing fake tan and mocking them for it (repeated examples) which is both racist and misogynistic.

I am not sure why Barley is now attempting to educate us on Hindu theology, and I think Barley is gravely mistaken on some issues here. If MW had used a reference to a Christian deity, MW would have received a lot more pushback. There are various musicians whose careers will serve to illustrate that!

I don't believe saying that women have the right to request a female medical examiner after rape is racism (or Islamophobia), and posting pictures of art is not a convincing argument that it is so.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/02/2022 18:35

I find this case absolutely baffling.

A long, long time ago the UK Parliament legislated to make it illegal for employers to advertise a job and say they wanted a man or a woman.

They agreed at the time that there were a few very specific cases where they could see it was still OK for the employer to do this, and one of them was where a rape crisis service wanted a woman to work directly with survivors of sexual abuse. So there was a specific exemption for cases like that. This has survived through various changes in the law since then, replacing the original act.

Fast forward to two separate services advertising posts of this nature. In both cases they said the job was only open to female applicants. In both cases MW applied. MW is not female by birth and has no GRC. In both cases MW got the job. In the earlier case it may be that the service genuinely didn't realise that MW was male, as this was some years ago, before MW became quite a high profile figure in Scottish politics. In the case of Edinburgh Rape Crisis they most assuredly did know this, and yet they went ahead and appointed MW.

Why and how?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/02/2022 18:30

MW is a man - a man who has gone to great lengths to bulldoze their way into womens rape services seemingly entirely for their own benefit. MW patently doesn’t give a fuck about biological women and how they feel about it. So we will question away

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 05/02/2022 18:24

crikey

being able to tell what sex someone is isn't racism

give over with your bullshit

barleybadminton · 05/02/2022 18:21

@Helleofabore

Are you being your normal ‘rhetorical’ self, barley?

I think everyone sees your post for what it is. Playing down the actions of a person who professes to be working for protecting women when they are clearly not.

I am not sure why you are so determined to do so, that is your business. But I think many people when they see this person’s interviews over the years and their tweets and their actions can make up their minds whether they agree with you. Or not.

I'm sure they can. And I'm sure many people will come to their own conclusions about why an Asian women is being attacked for talking about her religion and being angry about the racist abuse she receives.

I don't know what a "male identified man" is but not sure why barley is equating MW with one.

barleybadminton · 05/02/2022 18:02

@Helleofabore

I think a deity figure holding a severed head and weapons is pretty clear. I believe that this was posted on the next tweet on 5 Nov 2020.

I think posters trying to spin this as not intending to send a ‘message’ are either disingenuous or ignorant of the twitter history of the person they are intent on defending at all costs.
