@Rhannion

In the words of Mandy Rice Davies “ they would say that wouldn’t they? “
I very much doubt The Times would have erased all references to this story and issued a correction if they had doubts the police were telling the truth.

@MidsomerMurmurs

The police have now confirmed she was not the subject of a complaint or investigation

Um. Ok. But did Police Scotland enter her home? Did they talk about checking her thinking? Are they saying they did not go to see her? This is really odd.

Who knows, but it certainly seems like the claims any police action was instigated by Mridul Wadhwa were a complete fabrication.

@Helleofabore

They tweeted that they reported it a week or so ago. I will see if I can find a link.
Did you find that link because The Times are now saying this story wasn't true?

"Our article “Police interview charity chief after tweet ending referrals to rape centre” (Jan 29) and subsequent articles reported that Police Scotland interviewed Nicola Murray, the head of the Brodie’s Trust domestic abuse support group, about a reported hate crime. The police have now confirmed she was not the subject of a complaint or investigation."

Helleofabore · 02/02/2022 13:01

Well I guess admitting you use Scotlands police force as your own squad to fight things you don’t like to hear will mean you are likely to get unwanted attention.

I know there are pics floating around so it would not be hard to find it. It was around the 20th January or so. Whenever Nicola posted about it, MW then tweeted.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 02/02/2022 12:15

That is odd. MW's twitter does seem to have gone puff.

Not "page unavailable" or "blocked" - just absent.

aliasundercover · 02/02/2022 12:07

That's ok Helleofabore, I trust you. I just wanted to make sure it wan't something that was assumed.

It doesn't surprise me in the least.

aliasundercover · 02/02/2022 11:01

MW reported it?

I must have missed that bit. Is there evidence to support this?

OperationDessertStorm · 02/02/2022 10:39

We know domestic violence is predominantly male on female. We know miscarriage is 100% a female only life event. We know around 1 in 4 pregnancies naturally end in miscarriage. We know DV often starts during pregnancy. We know around 80% of single parents families are headed by mothers (with all the economic and social disadvantages that come with that).

What sort of miscreant attacks a charity that specifically supports women in this heartbreaking situation? Pick your fucking battles ffs. And maybe get some PR guru to teach you how to read the room.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 02/02/2022 10:22

This is a woman, a mother, running a tiny charity to help women suffering miscarriage after domestic violence.

And someone who is in a very prestigious and cushy job supposedly to help support and care for the victims of rape and violence REPORTS HER TO THE POLICE?

Other issues aside, this is the difference between grassroots women/feminists and professional women/feminists in a nutshell.

Meggie48 · 02/02/2022 10:19

Took longer to come than we expected but the 1984 thought police are here

ArabellaScott · 02/02/2022 10:15

@ScreamingMeMe

I'm sorry but I think there is something deeply wrong with someone who could report this to the police. It horrifies me that they are in a top level position in looking after vulnerable women, it properly gives me the chills.
For sure.

ScreamingMeMe

It says everything about MW though doesn’t it. That is a male who cannot stand it when women say no. Since that first interview describing the power they felt over distressed women seeking aid to feed their families, this person has shown themselves.

It is clear when you see the pattern but somehow those make decisions to keep this person in position cannot see the trees for the woods.

ScreamingMeMe · 02/02/2022 09:54

That's awful Warrior.

@TheCurrywurstPrion

I am unable to see either of the articles in the Times. Both links send me to screens that say the articles have been removed. Does anyone know what is happening?

There was a concerning message by Brodie's trust on fb.

It sounds like Murray has been harassed by both reporters and others. Details of her home leaked etc. I wonder if that's why the report has been pulled

The disappearance of the Times articles last night is being discussed on this thread, with screenshots: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4468324-Police-Scotland-accused-of-bias-in-battle-over-transgender-rights?pg=1

do they even write 'QED' in maths anymore???

No. Generally a little box is used instead, like this: □

bishophaha · 01/02/2022 09:36

This is such a weird story. I hope big things come of it.
Strength to Nicola's elbow.

Someone on twitter says that MW's twitter has been deleted?

Nichola has tweeted that she's getting a huge amount of bombardment from the press, including inappropriate friend requests.
