Stumbled accross this on twitter. Matt Walsh, an American political commentator is on a chat show and confronts transactivist to define a woman and tells him that he is appropriating womanhood.

Then after being told that he has 'traumatised' the activists... He provides this response!!

Wow. He says sh*t straight.... Haha!

Barley, having raised the subject of homophobia-motivated violence against lesbians, would you like to address why trans activists picketed FiLiA and drew pictures of male genitalia on the pavement, as the women inside listened to livestreams of persecuted lesbians speaking from other countries?

Goatsaregreat · 23/01/2022 22:05

Thank goodness the gender critical movement has remained so tiny and seems to be slowly petering out
Yet here you are barley - regularly posting so many sneering anti women comments, defending the indefensible with attempted smear after smear. Your lot are rattled as the appalling excesses associated with an ideology built on lies are finally being detailed by journalists and courageous women and men the world over. And citizens are waking up in their millions looking in horror at what is happening to children, women and society.

Sophoclesthefox · 23/01/2022 21:59

If it’s people who can get pregnant, including men then why is a threat to reproductive healthcare a threat specific to women?

You know who women are when you want to berate and scare them, barley.

barleybadminton · 23/01/2022 21:55

So, on one hand… democratic destruction by males who want to force us to be trad wives and keep us as slaves.

On the other hand …. destruction of free speech through coerced decisions affecting our democracy, ie, compelled democratic = destruction and some males who want to be trad wives and we are kept as women without any free voice and restrictions on what we do = slaves.

I think posts like this are more worrying than the support for Walsh and really reveal the privilege behind the gender critical movement. We are talking about far right regimes where being cancelled doesn't mean you lose your consultancy post or decide to resigm from your university because students were being mean to you or even facing a quiet chat from the police to check your thinking. It means being disappeared, possibly along with your family and thrown in jail without trial if you're lucky or a mass grave if not. It doesn't mean isolated and indeed unpleasant examples like Wi spa but the systemic torture and rape of women who dissent. It means women and their children forced into refugee camps, gays and lesbians executed and jailed, immigrants deported or massacred. You've got to have some sense of entitlement to think this is in anyway comparable to trans women being included in women's spaces or maternity wards using language that annoys you.

Even in the context of Walsh we are talking about the removal of reproductive healthcare, the eradication of welfare, an extention of immigration prisons and deportations and the destruction of LGB lives and relationships and many of his political fellow travellers would go much further. We are talking about millions of lives destroyed. That you can even entertain an arsehole like that simply because he thinks trans people are evil is pretty chilling. This is how tyrannies emerge, when the so called liberal middle classes are prepared to tolerate atrocities to get rid of the Jews/Communists/Trans people whoever the targetted minority of the day is.

Thank goodness the gender critical movement has remained so tiny and seems to be slowly petering out because there are some monstrous attitudes within it and thankfully more and more people are waking up to that.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 23/01/2022 21:42

Women who dissent are already being psychologically and physically tortured in prison with the threat of male violence. Accounts are coming out now from formerly incarcerated women who were told that if they reported incidents of sexual assault in the communal areas, they would be assigned as a cellmate to the perpetrator.

“We are working with a woman who was punched in the face so hard by a new transfer that she couldn’t chew for three days. He was taken away and released back in a different yard with no restrictions."

“He was her cellmate. She had to sleep with him.”

[quote PurgatoryOfPotholes]Hang on a flipping minute. Trans activists constantly use the "you'll lose your access to abortion" card to keep women in line, and tell us we're empowering the far-right. I honestly think they need to take a look in the mirror, because Jack Posobiec, an American pro-lifer and right-wing commentator with 1.5 million followers on twitter keeps making comments like this:

Men can pass abortion bans bc we can get pregnant now too

twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1484546070139002882?t=KOOgnmYDivQUrjBkiwVqgA&s=19[/quote]
Yes.

I am sure barely will be along to tell us why a group of transitioned males keep going on about getting abortions once they are pregnant, including one prominent academic.

Why a group have pregnancy photoshoots with fake bumps? And why a group insist they should be able to breastfeed and also access different support groups for mothers.

We shall wait.

Helleofabore · 23/01/2022 21:31

Should such a regime emerge again then all this fretting about who can call themselves a woman, and toilets and what words maternity clinics should use, and people being 'silenced' and even prisons and sports, will fade into insignificance as women are once again turned into unpaid domestic and sexual servants and women who dissent are tortured in prisons.

Can the hyperbole get any stronger and more unbelievable?

So…. If women agree with Matt Walsh on this issue, a dictator regime will take over our countries, eradicating our well established democracies!!!!!

Wims! Unless you side with extreme trans activists, you will ruin democracy in the known world. And we will have brought it all onto ourselves because….. we did not want males to force themselves into the definitions of the words we use to describe ourselves.

Hyperbole can work both ways… but my examples have more than a grain of truth to them.

Yeah I don’t get it, all barley is doing with that post is pointing out that the assault on women’s rights is coming from everywhere, both sides of politics Confused.

Although I do understand why barley would be trying to persuade people not to forget about the Right’s assault on women’s rights, because barley seems to think if we all focus on that we won’t have the mental capacity to also focus on the Left’s assault on women’s rights, which would make barley enormously happy, I imagine.

Unfortunately for barley we are all more than capable of dealing with the assault from both sides at the same time, because really, it’s nothing new.

Helleofabore · 23/01/2022 21:20

Do trans activists believe in racial hierarchies?

Fake tan accusations anybody?

Here on MN and by prominent trans activists on social media denigrating women for the colour of their skin.

allmywhat · 23/01/2022 21:15

Do trans activists believe in racial hierarchies?

Yes they do, they regularly say the most insanely racist shit I have ever seen in my entire life. In particular, implying or outright stating that black women are masculine seems to give lots of them some kind of sick sadistic pleasure, and it disgusts me to my core.

Are trans activists bombing abortion clinics?

No, they're nailing rats to the door of women's shelters, you must have got mixed up with that one!

Are trans people trying to ban abortion?

No, they're only trying to ban women from talking about it or protesting about it (thanks Munroe Bergdorf!), derailing the grassroots political movements for abortion rights and for women's rights with regular pronoun-related bunfights and arguments over what derogatory terms we're allowed to call women today, and ruining the credibility of organisations like Planned Parenthood by associating them with dodgy medical practices so they're easy targets for defunding.

But they haven't tried to ban it yet, no. Even the most gullible liberal feminists might start noticing TRAs aren't on women's side at that point.

ANewCreation · 23/01/2022 21:10

If the Wi-spa perpetrator is not trans, Barley, how about the perpetrator of this sexual assault on a ten year old girl in a Californian women's toilet?

www.yahoo.com/news/sexual-assault-10-old-sparks-130013570.html?guccounter=1

The story has had to be doctored by the Yahoo pronoun police, to the extent of putting words into the mouth of the LA County Supervisor, Kathryn Barger to indicate that the sexual offender identifies as a Hannah but is male.

"It’s useless to catch criminals like [Tubbs] if we don’t follow through and seek justice for victims such as the 10-year-old girl [she] sexually assaulted. She bears the burden of a lifetime of trauma," L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, whose district includes Palmdale, said in a statement. "[She] will be offered therapeutic interventions under the auspices of ‘restorative justice’ ... and possibly granted only probation or parole. Where is the justice for [her] young victim and her family?"

I would be furious if my words were changed as a genuflection to the altar of the gender religion, all to protect the feelings of a child abuser.

nolongersurprised · 23/01/2022 20:58

It seems very odd to me that when one side suppresses and lies about the events at Loudoun County and the other side exposes it women are told they would be better off sticking with their oppressors.

Helleofabore · 23/01/2022 20:53

Do trans activists believe in racial hierarchies?

Please tell us how this can be true when trans activists use mantra like phrases using black women as a comparator?

Are trans people trying to ban abortion?

Trans people are declaring that they may be the first transwomen who get pregnant and have abortions. Like it is something to fetishise. And transitioned males have photo shoots for pregnancy albums. And a transitioned male accessed a support group for still births with their intention of having a ‘still birth’ and forced women out of the group when they complained.

Are trans activists bombing abortion clinics?

They are releasing smoke bombs in Grenfell soon after a massive fire killing people. Smoke bombs meant to silence women discussing policies about women’s needs.

Not sure you have any moral high ground to claim here. At. All.

But please do keep going because it gives us all the more reason to bring up examples to show your empty rhetoric.

@ScreamingMeMe

How does ignoring events like Wi-Spa in case people you don't like profit from it (which could be solved at a stroke by not supporting indecent exposure in the first place) serve women and girls "of colour"?

It was a woman of colour who raised the alarm, only to be called a bigot and a liar.

I find that as much as they vaunt themselves as unable to see sex or race, these people magically become able to see both if someone steps out of line. Weird!

@barleybadminton

Just mentioning that, seeing as you brought up "people of colour" and implied it was our duty to accept gender identity ideology for the sake of "people of colour".

I have not suggested you should accept gender identity ideology whatever you think that means. I suggested that cheering on pro-lifers and misogynists simply because they attacked trans people will not work out well for women should that support help them gain power.

This was classic of Labour in the last UK election?

“The people who voted against us are so stupid! It’s their fault we lost in a landslide!”

ScreamingMeMe · 23/01/2022 20:28

No, in fact it seems to have nothing to do with trans women. And the idea this attack would have been prevented by a single sex space is equally false. Men who are prepared to do things like this are not going to be put off by a woman's sign on the door sadly.

Errr no. This person was allowed in the women's spa by the Spa management because they claimed a trans identity. JFC. Scores of TRAs and allies downplayed, excused or downright lied about it because the person claimed a trans identity.

At least you have acknowledged that it's women who have abortions. Watch you don't get cancelled and called a nazibigot for not being 'inclusive' in your language!

What gender ideology has in mind for women is far far worse. Bear that in mind and hold it there. I suspect the truth is that you're worried that it actually won't work out so well for you. And I hope it doesn't.

In that case, what's the point of transwomen seeking refuge from transphobic violence by using women's spaces? Men who are prepared to assault transwomen are not going to be put off by a woman's sign on the door. They'll just ignore the sign to assault the transwomen, surely?

TurquoiseBaubles · 23/01/2022 20:18

So wi-spa man is perfectly fine as long as he isn't anti-abortion?

How the fuck is this any level of debate?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 23/01/2022 20:17

On the subject of Wi-Spa, the woman who was maligned by trans activists across social media, including mumsnet, and by multiple newspapers, was a black woman, wasn't she, Barley?

Just mentioning that, seeing as you brought up "people of colour" and implied it was our duty to accept gender identity ideology for the sake of "people of colour". The man who lectured her on how she should accept the sight of someone's penis looked pretty damn white.

Funny thing, but the person alleged to have been the perpetrator at Wi-Spa has a record for exposing their penis in women's locker rooms. Can you explain how allowing this behaviour serves women and girls "of colour"?

Amazing you think you’re on the moral high ground here barley.

Whereas the truth is, how much lower can one possibly sink. Absolutely stinking appalling.
