Stumbled accross this on twitter. Matt Walsh, an American political commentator is on a chat show and confronts transactivist to define a woman and tells him that he is appropriating womanhood.

Then after being told that he has 'traumatised' the activists... He provides this response!!

Wow. He says sh*t straight.... Haha!

We are talking about far right regimes where being cancelled doesn't mean you lose your consultancy post or decide to resigm from your university because students were being mean to you or even facing a quiet chat from the police to check your thinking. It means being disappeared, possibly along with your family and thrown in jail without trial if you're lucky or a mass grave if not. It doesn't mean isolated and indeed unpleasant examples like Wi spa but the systemic torture and rape of women who dissent. It means women and their children forced into refugee camps, gays and lesbians executed and jailed, immigrants deported or massacred.

This is such an strenuous sparple attempt, I am just reposting it.

So, Maya, Dr Stock, Marion, Ceri, the woman/women being visited because they wrote to GG about their concerns are not worthy of our attention wims! Just let what happened to let happen (isn’t the rhetoric that they deserved it all anyway).

Instead, you need to focus solely on fighting dictator regimes. You cannot care about both. You CANNOT fight both at the same time. Because barely said so.

Because they have also said that just watching a link that features Matt Walsh will plunge the USA & the UK into far right regimes as well.

Nothing totalitarian or authoritarian in that action right there. Gosh. Imagine if women said that about any one - they’d be labeled as ignorant echo chamber inhabitants who couldn’t listen to anything ‘unsafe’. And needing ‘safe’ dissemination of all information via prominent activist accounts and never, never ever read an original source. Only safe regurgitations.

And this nugget.

You've got to have some sense of entitlement to think this is in anyway comparable to trans women being included in women's spaces or maternity wards using language that annoys you.

After calling a transitioned male’s semi erect penis being proudly displayed within metre of the face of nine year old girl (and one earlier in front of six year old girl that may have even been the same transitioned male) ‘unpleasant’.

After all the downplaying of the clearly sexualised nature of a GG divisional leader.

After stating no female in a UK prison today is sharing prison space with a non-fully transitioned male (without defining what ‘transitioned’ even means) to be proven wrong within hours of posting that completely false assurance. (Because anyone who had been arguing that it happened was made out as ignorant).

After claiming that feminists abused so many first wave detransitioners, that they retransitioned.

We get this little nugget.

Same old. Same old.

Focus on the sinister regimes, wims. Can’t do both. To discuss something else means you don’t care enough.

Do you ever feel ashamed to have utilised people’s horrific situation to silence women who simply won’t obey and STFU?

You overstepped on this one barely.

Sophoclesthefox · 24/01/2022 09:09

I forgot that bit notbad (but it looks like that poster did too, so…)

And fair point re fundamentalist religions not being automatically anti trans by any means, purgatory.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2022 09:01

However, because Matt Walsh also has some terrible opinions about abortion, his opinion on everything else is not just null and void, but actively dangerous. Any woman who agrees with him that humans are sexually dimorphic must also agree with him on everything else he believes, AND will be single handedly responsible for the inevitable decline of all Western civilisation into a dystopian hellscape of forced enslavement of women (although we are not entirely clear on who women are in order to know who will be subjugated).

You forgot to include Cheese’s contribution of simultaneously believing that agreeing with him will bring about such dystopian right wing hellscape and at the same time his views being of no relevance to the UK or UK politics because not many people know who he is or who Dr Phil is.

More mud to be clear as there.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 24/01/2022 08:58

This idea that fundamentalists of any Abrahamic religions are automatically hostile to gender identity ideology doesn't hold up.

Here's Pink News, parroting a story that was broken elsewhere.

Iran has been accused of forcing hordes of gay people to have gender reassignment surgery in an attempt to rid the country of homosexuality.

While the Islamic Republic legalised being transgender in 1987, homosexuality is still illegal in Iran and LGB people are often subjected to horrific public executions if their sexuality becomes known.

According to British news outletThe Sun, LGBT activists have now stated that some of the ‘trans surgeries’ that occur are part of a sinister programme designed to eradicate queer people.

‘They are trying to cleanse the country of homosexuals’, says activist.

Shadi Amin, an Iranian-born activist, toldThe Sunthat this homophobic Iranian regime is controlled by religious extremists who view being gay as an “illness”. They believe that the only way it can be cured is by changing gender.

“The government believes that if you are a gay man, your soul is that of a woman and you should change your body,” Amin said.

“We think this is a way [for them] to fight the existence of homosexual people because you change their body and you solve the problem.

“The regime gives gay people two choices – to be arrested as a homosexual and risk punishment or even execution, or change your body.”

Government data shows that around 4000 gender reassignment surgeries are performed in Iran each year.

Amin, however, claims that those numbers are actually much higher in reality.

“They are trying to cleanse the country of homosexuals,” she added.

“They would rather carry out mass surgeries than executions because they know the world is watching them.”

“After forcibly getting individuals operated on, the government turns a blind eye to them,” said Agrima Tikader, writing for theInternational Business Times.

“Amin pointed out that most transgender people lost support from their families [after having surgery].

“Without the prospect of employment, transgender people turn to prostitution.

“The state offers very little protection to transgender people, and they are often subject to discrimination and physical violence,” Tikader added.

Not long ago, prominent activist and transwoman Charlotte Clymer framed Iran's provision of cosmetic surgery in rather positive terms. The fact that the alternative to surgery could be execution is apparently a mere bagatelle.

Clymer: Iran literally pays for trans-affirming medical care with state funds. Soooo... not exactly a great way to make your point there, Sweetie.

Sophoclesthefox · 24/01/2022 08:52

Absolutely, notbad and helleofa. We could continue to play a game of “pin the authoritarian tail to the activist donkey” for quite some time I dare say Grin

So to summarise the thread thus far: Matt Walsh explains the basics of biology- a woman is an adult human female. The rebuttal to this is some wafty airy fairy circular (non) definition of “a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman”. So far, so inevitable.

Clear as mud!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/01/2022 08:49

No-one thinks the bulk of posters on this board are right-wing, no matter how loudly or repeatedly they say it. "Right-wing" is used as an accusation against people thought to be left-wing, because those are the only targets who would ever worry about it.

Imagine going up to the conservative party conference and shouting accusingly, "you're all tories!" They would stare at you and say, "um, yes, I know?"

Excellent point.

55Jumbo · 24/01/2022 08:49

Saw the Dr Phil thing and thought Matt was great. Unbelievable that the oddball got the cheers but that's just symptomatic of the usual vocal minority.

Thanks for sharing his Twitter response. It's a bit strong in parts but so what? Nice to see a strong stance on the other side to restore some balance! Wishy-washy, "kind" responses don't seem to be helping women!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/01/2022 08:44

We're a tiny and diminishing group that nobody agrees with, but we somehow have the power to bring about some kind of far right apocalypse.

Quite Grin

Helleofabore · 24/01/2022 08:29

Plus sophocles, the silencing tactics that are ever revolving but are constantly deployed to silence ‘the other side’ by a very small group of posters.

Including trying to provoke fear that posters have become the ‘monsters’, have become the very things they are fighting against, have become supporters of the far right, have become complicit in the torture of women and children.

barelys ludicrous behaviour seems to have escalated to such accusations. While conveniently ignoring the evidence of abuse by trans activists and abhorrent views of prominent trans people against women. Because, the intention is to get women to STFU and stop us pointing out what is happening, what has happened.

Actual events. Documented events. Ignored because they are uncomfortable truths. Look there is a squirrel, while declaring a poster to be an ignorant privileged far right supporter. Sparple! Sparple! Sparple!

But, regular posters on this board are ripe targets for being ‘monstered’ as we saw last night. For being blamed for propping up not only terrorist regimes, dictatorships that are deeply sinister, but supposedly the downfall of democracy in the UK, the USA and other European countries.

I mean. barely has admitted on other threads that they use exaggerated claims and hyperbole as ‘rhetorical’ devices. But last night’s takes the cake.

Last night was monstering from a poster that simply cannot tolerate women saying no.

And barley smashes out the ‘privilege’ card….

(Note: barely also has positioned themselves as the spokesperson for working class women, on the basis they say of knowing a few. And has deployed that tactic over numerous threads against … you guessed it.. working class women. Because that poster needs MN posters to fit into a box that we simply don’t fit into.)

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2022 08:25

Repeating mantras instead of thinking
Constraint of press reporting along certain lines
Encouragement of snitching on non adherents with the goal of having them censured or sacked
Concentration of power in the hands of a defined elite, who may not be questioned by the common person
Strenuous efforts to model language along the desired lines to make dissent harder

I would also add

Determination to implicate guilt by association, just for agreeing with the people on the “disavowed” list

Which has a distinct McCarthyism vibe about it, and a few posters have tried this one.

ShrillSiren · 24/01/2022 08:22

@nolongersurprised

I think it's more that authoritarian movements in general, whether the Christian religious right, fascists, Stalinists and radical Islamists are all deeply hostile to trans rights

Or maybe they’re just less tolerant of gender woo woo?

As a poster said on another thread, even Hitler knew how babies were made.

Watch out, they have you noted down as a nazi next, you agreed with Hitler.

I can’t decide if this is just an amusingly one-eyed and silly response from @barleybadminton to me, or if it somehow bends round from deeply silly to actually being perceptive Grin

Yes, I expect all of these movements/belief systems are both authoritarian and hostile to trans rights.

However, authoritarian tactics are also very much a tactic of much of what passes for mainstream transactivism.

See what I mean?

(No. You don’t. Of course 😆 but that’s OK)

ScreamingMeMe · 24/01/2022 07:29

"WITCH! WITCH! WITCH!"

ScreamingMeMe · 24/01/2022 07:21

@nolongersurprised

But can we stick to discussing Matt Walsh please. Let’s stay on the OP

Yes, it’s very good that the Loudoun County cover up is being given a wider audience, with more to come, from the sound of things.

Agreed. All this desperate finger-pointing and catastrophising from the usual suspects is an obvious tactic to try and get people to stop talking about it.
NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2022 05:36

@Enough4me

I would like to see the question asked...Will everything cycle around, to recreate lost female spaces?

In sports we'll have male(XY) and unisex(either), but then we need female (XX) categorisation. This will need to be added as females cannot compete with men, it will be an ongoing issue until clearer boundaries are redefined.

It’s an interesting question but will come under pressure from the propaganda around athletes like Caster Semenya and Mboma. The language around them is always about “female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels”. If women’s sport was ring fenced to XX (which it should be IMO) then those athletes and their PR teams would kick up a fuss claiming they are being unfairly excluded. It could backfire of course, because it would need to be made clear that those athletes don’t meet that criteria but I think someone will always find a way to make women budge over.

Oblomov 99.9999999% of the world's population know what woman girl boy girl mother are.

Have for our entire existence however many millennia.

I have no doubt that when humans developed speech. First words would have been along lines of in no particular order.

Food, danger, shelter, woman, man, baby, boy, girl, mother, water, etc etc.

And when it comes to mother baby. That's something all mammals know. Fed on milk, baby without mum vv bad thing.

All over the world the word for mum is similar. Because first sound babies usually makes is mumumum etc. If that's a construct, it's babies that constructed it!

Everyone knows what these words mean. No need for definition in depth. Because. Bleeding obvious. Man woman? Fundamental.

Go into any country. Pub, bar, workplace etc.
Ask what is a woman. Everyone knows. Because it's part of the most basic things there is for humans and mammals in general.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2022 05:10

@Oblomov22

What is a woman? Even I don't know. Has anyone seen a hood explanation? Please link. I've never seen a thread about trans issue before where the trans interviewed does give a good explanation. Mind you, as women we should be able to come up with a good explanation ourselves shouldn't we?
Not sure if you’re being sincere or not. It’s a straightforward definition.
CheeseMmmm · 24/01/2022 04:43

Oh and tits are extremely important always.

We are whatever any individual man wants us to be.
No more, no less.
Same as ever.

CheeseMmmm · 24/01/2022 04:42

Hello oblomov

Men seeing women as mysterious, ineffable, like men but lacking...

What is a woman? Ancient Greeks, poets through the ages, men in pubs, etc etc.

Have pondered this question.

Currently some solid answers from memory and put in own words CBA to look up again-

  • Formless
  • The ones that are sexually submissive and grow babies
  • The ones that get catcalled
  • something about... Something, an expectant arsehole and blank, blank eyes
  • The ones who are the essence of Barbie if Barbie was real
  • I mean so many
CheeseMmmm · 24/01/2022 04:36

Left wing political parties, MEN. misogyny.
And like I mentioned earlier.
Men who often IME extremely sexist safe in knowledge they can't be because always brilliant.

Male created systems created for men by men.

As you say. Right wing people. When they are being arseholes. They know they're being arseholes and are ok with that.

No political party here gives a flying fuck about women/ girls.

And in USA too from what I can see as outsider.

In the end this is not party political. It's about women/ girls. All of them. Left/ right/ whatever.

CheeseMmmm · 24/01/2022 04:31

Have insight?

Into what?

By the way I'm the one who has been chastised as closed minded, childish, purity spiralling, um. Etc etc. Putting IDPOL before whatever. And all that stuff.

Just in case didn't realise!

And TRA lefties? Come off it. There are many different drivers for engaging in gender > sex activism.

Obviously they're not politically left. Ideology wise. They are chancers, opportunists. Who latch onto and steamroller any movement / group/ etc that they are able to/ see an advantage in.

Left here have supported men who were... Not on the level shall we say. Before. Seems when it comes to misunderstood men poor dears they seem to forget how to think.
The whole must be right thing comes into play here.

Anyway.

The overwhelming messaging from the activists, that gets copycatted and spread.
Are-

  • Very very racist
  • Show in neon lights don't even see women/ girls as people
  • Zero fucks about helping anyone having a bad time in real life in their own group. IE trans people struggling
  • As per previous poster zero thought about LGB people
  • Using medical condition as they see fit even thought been told not to repeatedly
  • Using children to own ends
  • Actively encouraging fear, MH issues, as far as self harm suicide
  • Vv USA centric and make no sense here
  • And etc etc.

@nolongersurprised

It’s been difficult for me to come to terms with how the only people who are pushing back against the TRA ideology are the conservative groups. The underlying misogyny of the left - when my expectations were that they’d support women and girls - saddens me
I agree. The underlying misogyny of the Left has been quite evident on this thread too, both from the typical TRAs, and those who wish to put identity politics above truth.

One thing I respect about the Right is that they don’t hide anything and have insight. There’s an honesty in their goals at least.

CheeseMmmm · 24/01/2022 03:22

No longer reading post again.

If UK.

No political party is doing anything.
Left all fuck you women.
Conservatives. Not interested. Stopped the gra thing. End.
Didn't want a hooha.
Not a thing they give a shit about. (Rights, equalities, women? No interest. Money, keeping masses at bay by banning protest. Immigration. Tax. That their sort of thing.).

They in power for yonks and still.
Males in women's prisons.
NHS mixed sex still in place I'm sure.
And so on.

Political systems created by men for men.
Still run by men for men.

Looking to political parties to help is waste of time.

Women/girls are ALL in this on our own.
Not a party political issue.
A women's issue that crosses all divides.
