Stumbled accross this on twitter. Matt Walsh, an American political commentator is on a chat show and confronts transactivist to define a woman and tells him that he is appropriating womanhood.

Then after being told that he has 'traumatised' the activists... He provides this response!!

Wow. He says sh*t straight.... Haha!

Wiki. Yikes.

Always worth a bit of a Google this stuff.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Walsh_(political_commentator)

Some excerpts-

'Walsh has written three books: The Unholy Trinity: Blocking the Left's Assault on Life, Marriage, and Gender (2017),...'

'Walsh opposes abortion.[17] He does not believe in marriage between people of the same sex,[verification needed] and does not believe that it is possible to be transgender.[verification needed][15][18][19]

Some of his commentary has been described by media outlets as trolling'

'When South Dakota governor Kristi Noem declined to ban businesses from requiring a COVID-19 vaccine for their employees, he criticized her by writing that she was only considered a 2024 Republican presidential contender because of her physical attractiveness.[2] After Noem called his comment misogynistic, Walsh said he had no regrets but would "accept apologies from all of the performative idiots pretending to be offended by it'.

I have no idea who this man is.

What I would say is-

  • Posters say vv right assuming Christian USA. Given that, assuming true, I very much doubt he's raising rape etc for any reason other than argument point. If his beliefs are v anti abortion in way blokes USA v right Christian usually are.

  • How did he get any trans people on there? They must have known what in for. What attitude did he display? I mean. Was he a bit/v nasty?

Because again. USA v right Christian etc. And I don't know anything about him except posts on here. Generally though means homophobic, patriarchal max etc. Trans people. Obv. Against beliefs. Not to do with concern for women. But about those who violate (v confining) sex roles.

Loads of posts on here recently saying yay look at this (bloody awful person) nail this! Isn't he great everyone!

Just... FYI. Worth proceeding with caution rather than throwing bunting around. IMO.

Wow! That's direct!

allmywhat · 21/01/2022 00:47

@CaptainCarp

I can't believe the word salad of trying to or not define women, got clapped 🤦‍♀️
I think it’s because the magic “trans women are women” catchphrase got mumbled somewhere in there.
allmywhat · 21/01/2022 00:46

Wow. I vaguely know that he’s some kind of extreme conservative but I guess that gives him the social leeway to say it like he sees it.

It’s startlingly rare to see an online beardy man who actually thinks rape is bad and gets angry about it. I appreciated that even though it made me realise how low the bar is.

TurquoiseBaubles · 21/01/2022 00:42

It is evil. Anyone who thinks that the rape and trauma of a woman is less important than the feelings of a man is evil, in my opinion. Anyone who tries to remove safeguarding on the grounds that some people may be upset is evil. Anyone who thinks it's ok to allow (or even encourage) girls to have their breasts removed is evil.

Evil is a strong word, and I'd be reluctant to say to an individual "you are evil" but I am happy to direct the generic "you are evil" to the proponents of such a harmful movement.

In relation to his opinions on abortion - I don't have to agree with anyone about everything; I can agree with them on one thing and profoundly disagree with them on another. In this instance is he correct.

Crustypiepants · 21/01/2022 00:29

Completely agree with him on this issue..However, Matt is very anti abortion and is against same sex marriage . He would happily take those rights off us women in a heartbeat!

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 21/01/2022 00:14

I think evil is the perfect word to describe what is happening tbh.

It's ridiculous to be expected to continue conversations with people who think that you can't define a women unless you are one and that you can define in circular ways (a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman). Both of these are indicators of a significant issue in your classification system, the point of which is to have some significant degree of coherence of understanding - otherwise what the hell is the point in a category?

Thirtytimesround · 21/01/2022 00:13

Very depressing to hear the audience clapping the nonsense bit. Brainwashed suck ups.

Huge respect for Matt.

CiaoForDiNiaoSaur · 21/01/2022 00:11

Way to go Matt!

Sonex · 21/01/2022 00:01

Spot on. Great to see a man being so on point about what we already know.

oxalisRed · 20/01/2022 23:51

I don't know what Matt Walsh normally comments on. I did watch a snippet of the show earlier where he stated his opinions, opinions with which I mostly agree. Except to declare that "you're evil", no I don't agree with that. There's no need to descend to such depths.

Particular people maybe, all people who don't agree with him, no.

TurquoiseBaubles · 20/01/2022 23:44

Wow, I'm so glad I saw that because I suspect it won't last very long, either on here or on Twitter.

He is absolutely spot on. He is right, and that's why people don't want him to say it.

I especially liked the bit "... the rape, trauma and abuse that happens ..." is worth it. Because that's exactly how activists feel. They do not care about the rape, trauma and abuse of women, as long as they can have what they want.

UserBot999 · 20/01/2022 23:41

Ha, good for matt.
