Stumbled accross this on twitter. Matt Walsh, an American political commentator is on a chat show and confronts transactivist to define a woman and tells him that he is appropriating womanhood.

Then after being told that he has 'traumatised' the activists... He provides this response!!

Wow. He says sh*t straight.... Haha!

@nolongersurprised

Imagine being that father: 1) your daughter is anally raped by in boy in a skirt in the girls’ bathrooms. 2) the school says they’ll deal with it “in house” and no police, ambulance are called. You involve police yourself. 3) you attend a school board meeting where gender neutral bathrooms are discussed and promoted and are told that no reports of misconduct have occurred 4) when you dispute this you are called a bigot and when you shout a bit you are arrested. Pictures of your stomach falling out of your clothes are taken while you are dragged on the floor by officers and these are pictures circulated on line as an example of a right wing bigot 5) you are vilified in your community and your business suffers 6) newspaper articles say your daughter is a liar 7) when your daughter’s attacker is convicted of raping your daughter said newspapers don’t issue an apology.

Evil indeed.

And then a man brings it to wider attention on a TV show with a huge audience, leading to a University professor dismissing it and say she didn’t think it was a safety issue, but we shouldn’t give him any credit because he’s previously said other stuff that is not in line with the “correct” way of thinking 🙄.

To those who don’t like Walsh and therefore dismiss what he’s done here, what is more important to you?

That Walsh keeps or is kept quiet, isn’t given a platform for his questionable other views but it means fewer people know about what happened in Loudoun County? Or

That Walsh gets some praise for being right on this even if he’s not on other things, but it’s worth it because more people are now aware of that awful event?

This thread compliments the other current one about whether left leaning parties are more seen as morally good...

Good point.

I’ve often heard people lament that men, fathers aren’t engaging with how harmful gender ideology is to women, girls and children.

And then when a father does (bravely) leap into it and is subjected to abuse as a result people say - not you.

Well, I don’t see the wokebros standing against trans activism.

Womanhood is not mine to define, I just want you to call me a woman, cos that is what I am, but actually no, I am not, I am summink summink!

And they clapped that crap?

Appropriate womanhood got silence, actually a single clap. And the TW got quite aggressive, until remembering 'herself'!

What a load of bollock, real and facsimile!

Thoughts from Walsh after the Dr Phil appearance.

I disagree with Matt Walsh on his views on abortion but he has been consistently brilliant in this issue for a very long time. He is married and has daughters. I think he does care. I agree with every word he said on the chat show and in his follow up. It’s depressing to hear the audience clap this absolute drivel.

As he says, he stands in the truth. It’s important to remember that.

NotBadConsidering · 21/01/2022 09:04

Agreed. The Loudoun rape is a good example of the evil. Not only the evil of the rapist, the profile of whom the judge described as one of the most disturbing things they’d ever read, but the evil of the silence from the Left around reporting the events. They KNOW what happened and say nothing. Same as the Wi Spa. The Guardian KNOWS what happened and didn’t retract their article claiming otherwise.

They KNOW and say nothing. Why is the right wing political commentator the bad guy for bringing that to mainstream attention? The Left, politically and media wise have completely ignored a rapist raping two girls because of the ideology was not able to be challenged openly. Who’s evil here?

Whatwouldscullydo · 21/01/2022 09:01

Sadlywhatwouldscullydo. That is the point of which their identities rest on. Being free to define any word as they wish to, whether it is woman, man, any word they want to adapt to their individual desire

But they don't define it even with the scope of being able to re define it any way they want 🤣

You can always tell when people have been forced to go " off script" there's a certain look of panic and desperation for reassurance from the presbeters or the crowd. I mean even found myself wondering if the audience were clapping to show their agreement, whether they were clapping to enjoy them to keep going for entertainment purposes or whether it was just to painful at that point to keep watching so it created a distraction.

nolongersurprised · 21/01/2022 08:58

For many viewers this will be the first time they’ve heard about what happened at Loudoun County (sp again).

The Washington post wrote an article who said that the girl who was raped wasn’t raped because she was in a consensual relationship with the GNC boy, but when he was actually convicted of rape - not a peep. No apology or retraction or anything

Matt Walsh has done something important here.

CeilingWax · 21/01/2022 08:58

Isn’t there some similarity between not being able to state scientific facts that hurt some people’s feelings and not being able to say that a person doing bad things is a bad person?

I understand the argument that we ought not to necessarily condemn the whole person for one bad act and be careful especially with children, and do believe that we need to leave the door open for genuine remorse and rehabilitation, but actually there are some people out there who struggle to accept norms and morals values because they want to do what they however they want it regardless of the consequences for others, but they still want to be seen as a ‘good person’.

They don’t want to develop a conscience and feel appropriate guilt or shame in-line with common moral values because they would mean facing restrictions and unfulfilled desires and the inability to deal with that leads to “boohoo, that’s so unfair and mean”, “why are you controlling me”, or worse.

I think with people like this we need to be clear, with them, that actually committing a multitude of bad acts does mean that you are in fact a bad person. Saying please and thank you politely does not undo the bigger harms.

Psychologically it would be better to help people to process shame in a healthy way, to enforce boundaries, demonstrate natural consequences and help develop more empathy so people can make better choices rather than to react with ‘be kind’ appeasement where we can’t hurt their feelings, Also to understand that arguing with some people about empathy and boundaries is sadly a pointless exercise.

I don’t think I would agree with Matt Walsh on many other aspects, but I always think that whilst misogynist men do not value women as they should, they do know full well what men can be like and this makes them very qualified to oppose men in women’s spaces.

Helleofabore · 21/01/2022 08:54

Thanks old crone for the longer clip.

Helleofabore · 21/01/2022 08:53

Sadly whatwouldscullydo. That is the point of which their identities rest on. Being free to define any word as they wish to, whether it is woman, man, any word they want to adapt to their individual desire.

Individualism at its finest.

OldCrone · 21/01/2022 08:52

The shorter of the two TRAs was a transman, I’m pretty sure.

There's a longer clip from the show here which makes that very clear.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=iw075B9iqxw

There's also a piece by two parents dicussing what their children are being taught about gender in school and the mother of a 3 year old who is letting her child choose their own 'gender'.

Whatwouldscullydo · 21/01/2022 08:43

I also wish I knew what it was that possess people to go onto a TV show completely unprepared and unable to define their terms.

Then cry/get angry and play the victim when as a results your arguments are easily debunked amd you make yourself look stupid.

If you want to " win" prepare better.

ScreamingMeMe · 21/01/2022 08:40

So more than one select group of people believes gender ideology is dangerous nonsense. Why is that a bad thing?

Helleofabore · 21/01/2022 08:39

The shorter of the two TRAs was a transman, I’m pretty sure.

Sorry. You are right. Missed parts of that clip.

So…. Three males and a female who rejects being a woman discussing what a woman is.

Still a ‘Meh!’ from me.

MiladyBerserko · 21/01/2022 08:39

It's the same bollocks, different version that the Head Girls come up with in their opposition to Posie, because she apparently has the wrong opinions on some topics.

No thanks. I'm perfectly capable of independently holding opinions on a range of topics. I don't need to be told off for being in the wrong camp. Fuck that.

NotBadConsidering · 21/01/2022 08:36

@AdamRyan

It's not about sides at all. It's all more nuanced than that. If I was sharing something with friends, to introduce them to the gender debate, I wouldn't share his response as he seems quite aggressive. I'd share JKR or Peachyogurt or Magdalen Berns - they are assertive.

This is an opinion thread. Someone posted the video and asked for opinions. My opinion is this man has the hallmarks of a transphobe, driven by religious ideology. I can't support that, despite agreeing that the trans ideology (TWAW) harms women and girls.

I also can't support calling a couple of people who've been on a panel show debating the ideology "evil" and "bad people". They were expressing their opinion, which they are perfectly entitled to hold. Its like me calling religious people "evil" because I'm atheist and can give (many, many many) examples of the harm religion does. I'd never do that though, because the individual people who follow the religion are 1) entitled to their opinion and 2) on the whole, not influential at all on what the religion does (unless I happened to be talking to the pope).

I feel like someone needs to break out the Venn diagram

Your opinion is much more worthwhile with your 3rd paragraph, where you have actually addressed what he did - directly call activists he was on the show with “evil” for the ideology they push. Prior to that your opinion was based on something he didn’t do, more it was based on your inference.

Personally I agree with him. Every time someone publicly opines this nonsense, they are directly contributing to the proliferation of treatments harming children.

nolongersurprised · 21/01/2022 08:31

Meh! Another group of males discussing what the word woman means

The shorter of the two TRAs was a transman, I’m pretty sure.

deadwildroses.com/2019/10/07/handy-venn-diagrams-the-radical-feminist-position-on-gender/amp/

I guess I am very reluctant to use the term evil anyway. Its not helpful really

Totalwasteofpaper · 21/01/2022 08:30

👏👏👏
Yes matt!

Thank you

Agree with @Whatwouldscullydo I legitimately believe some of things things being done to children now are reprehensible, immoral and certainly bordering on evil.

MiladyBerserko · 21/01/2022 08:30

Purity spiral bullshit again.

I don't give a shit if he is against abortion. People are are allowed opinions. Abortion is a difficult subject.

I'm happy genderism is getting proper light so that the public can see what they want. The women represented the genderists'position well - they don't care about the safety of women and girls, that is to be sacrificed for genderism.

Let the public hear more of their shit.

Helleofabore · 21/01/2022 08:29

@ItsCoachBombay

I watched this clip and the man in question is a conservative political speaker.

I put my head in my hand when he explained rightly so what a "woman" is refering to anatomy and the other person came back with "but what if a woman is born without those organs" the words "well she'd be a infertile woman, but still a woman" slipped out 🤦🏻‍♀️

Infertile women are still women...does the other side not get this.

They actually don’t care. Other people’s medical conditions are a tool to progress their political goals.

Hence the inclusion of the ‘I’ in LGBTQI. We know many people with DSDs absolutely don’t want their medical conditions used as a tool for promoting the belief people can change sex.

But still the activists persist.
