This case v worrying because situation meant outrageous behaviour from those who should have totally focussed on victim.

IN GENERAL- Children esp girls told to be kind to everyone. Give chance. Understand some can exhibit unusual behaviour but that's not a reason to judge. In fact it prob needs need a friend more. Be especially understanding of those who might find harder to fit in. Be kind. Be helpful. Be accepting and welcoming. Acceptance without exception.

This is messaged CONSTANTLY to girls. It insists that ignore instincts, whether actually like the person, be constantly kind generous helpful. Feminine role. Self sacrificing, always put yourself last.

Victim dad kicks off when school not doing anything after rape reported.

He was reported widely as being bigoted arsehole for pushing for action. He got threats and character annihilation.

Police called to school around incident. To deal with angry parent -the dad.

SHORTLY AFTER all that.

School decided to propose change all single sex to gender.

Are they trolling? The dad? Making a point?
Or just monumentally thick?

Meeting to discuss. Bloke for all schools around there said definitely no attacks any our schools. Dad gets v angry. Police come he arrested.

And on and on. A litany of active hostility towards rape victim and her naturally angry parent. Lies from school. Victim blaming. Inc court 2nd victim lawyer said well you know they had consensual sex before... And on and on and on and on.

The widespread attitude to boys sexually assaulting girls in schools, and zero consequences. Is a massive issue.

The fact that so many times in so many situations, having a declared trans ID actively protects the male who commits sex offences (other offences this reaction way less prevalent).
The standard reaction is.

*Anyone supporting victim is a transphobe/USA style Christian right/wants all trans people to be executed by the state, or somehow otherwise got rid of
*Including victim. What's their motivation, paranoia, beliefs for making all this up
*Trans status irrelevant, all crime is people problem, female people rape too. MVAWG and similar is sexist and unfair

This adds to the already standard societal approach of. She's done something wrong. Innocent till proven guilty! False accusations common. Blah blah.

And it's wider than this one story, although obviously this case has certain things which raise even more massive problems.

How many rapes in USA schools get properly handled rather than brushed under carpet.
This sex offender had previous convictions and whatnot. I would need to see stats and decent analysis of probable incidence Vs reports, prosecution etc.

Because should not forget that here sexual assault / rape happen, across the school system paid state everywhere. And not long ago huge media coverage when girls who been attacked raised it publically. So many girls. Good as zero action.

Question if girl led on, misread things. Over reacting? Not remembering correctly? Etc.

Often suggest girl different class. No change for boy. She made feel in wrong. No police no nothing.

Boy attack girl way most common obv not 100% though. Addressing things girls would improve things for all victims though.

Heard/read loads girls told about primary school assaults. No action. Often told off by playground supervisor etc. Sure read a girl 6 raped two older boys toilets. Others assaulted. Bogs often seem to feature.

Massive issue for... Obv whole of society so WHY FFS is this seen as women issue only? (Rhetorical).

Really wanted to remind everyone that this is not a one off rare thing. And not just USA thing. It's massive issue around the place.

If I'm reading that right, the boy was sending nude photos when he was 10, by 14 he had a charge of 'forced sodomy' against him, the school were allowed to handle this internally (no police investigation but then why the ankle bracelet?) And he went to a new school and used the girls' facilities. The poor father nearly went to jail for defending his daughter. Now the school district is 'independently' investigating itself.

Seriously?

This whole case was absolutely sickening.
