One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

@CheeseMmmm

Just catching up and saw this transphobic comment.

'Spend two seconds on twitter, you can find countless pictures of non-trans women police officers wearing make-up and nail polish'.

How the hell do you know if they are transgender or not?

  1. Trans rights supporters are having to spend loads of time pointing out that most of the time, no one can tell that a transwoman is trans and not cis.
  1. Unless their trans status is included with the pics? Assuming gender is also a huge no no and transphobic.

I think sharing the links would be best. Or telling us the info you have, that explains how know they aren't TW?

I'll be happy to retract this post and apologise.

I felt I had to say something, as we all know both casual and intended transphobia are rife.

Yes! This!

How can anyone know these other officers weren't trans?

ArabellaScott · 09/01/2022 21:43

I'm not linking to tweets to invite people to pull on people's looks

The only person "pulling ' on anyone's looks here is you, NoNot, with your unpleasant comment about fake tan.

The post is about adhering to dress codes.

I think you will find that the poster was deleted for such a post. And their usual negative generalisations at MN FWR.

They have not returned to the thread.

TInkyWlnky · 09/01/2022 21:40

I've already said why I'm not.

The lines are wide enough to read between dear.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 21:38

Well. without evidence and your very tenuous refusal to even note the date and time of the tweet you insist is a women ' looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation. '

in this post

' Ah, Ok.
Well just a quick look at Hert police twitter account you don't have to scroll far at all see pics of other women officers being shown.
The first one I saw was someone looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation.
Is anyone commenting on her appearance (apart from me now obviously which feels a hmm thing to do.
Why aren't they?
Can anyone think why that may be?
Or is it just saved for what make up a trans woman is wearing? '

People are not likely to believe you without this proof. you did not have to double down and did not have to engage in this 'I am not going to show you because...' game.

You can call for us to 'honestly' believe you, but you would absolutely demand another poster to provide proof of such a vile statement.

And join in demonising them with a 'yes! this' type of post with the first and probably only other poster that would post a comment similar to yours.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 09/01/2022 21:35

oh hey @NoNotMeNoSiree

do you think red or green are neutral nail colours?

i'd really like to know

i know you're very literal, so I'm not really all ears, but I am a big, metaphorical ear, listening for your answer

Fieldofgreycorn · 09/01/2022 21:34

Just critically examining the different points of view Helleofabore.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 21:34

I've already said why I'm not.
On this very page in fact, and again a bit further back.
Because this conversation is shitty enough without dragging other people into it for their photos to be linked and commented on.

TInkyWlnky · 09/01/2022 21:32

@NoNotMeNoSiree

It can not wash all you like. It is why I'm not linking though.
Because..racist.
TInkyWlnky · 09/01/2022 21:31

@NoNotMeNoSiree

am not going to admit I was really offensive. Well no, because I'm not about to say I was referring to a tweet that I honestly was not!
What one were you referring to then? Why so coy?
NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 21:31

It can not wash all you like.
It is why I'm not linking though.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 21:30

TInkyWlnky · 09/01/2022 21:28

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Anyways. This is ridiculous. I've said why I'm not linking, and people are free to look themselves at Twitter, it's hardly some secret corner of the Internet. People say I'm ignoring questions but funny how no one's pulling up on the male rapists in prisons bit by another poster. On a completely unrelated thread about trans women police officers wearing make up.
Nah. This doesn't wash. We know the reason why you're not linking it. And so do you.
ChetChet · 09/01/2022 21:26

Your question dodging abilities, NoNotMe, are at an Olympic gold level! Incredible!

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 21:24

@Fieldofgreycorn

or in connection with your religion/faith.

Many posters on this forum claim that trans is a religion.

I’d say Cherry is very in keeping with The Faith, no?

Excellent.

Let’s do that.

Let’s treat this like all other religions.

fieldofgreycorn said we should.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 09/01/2022 21:24

@NoNotMeNoSiree

No, I'm not. You can believe what you want which you're going to do anyway, but I was not referring to that tweet. And I've already said why I'm not linking to tweets to invite people to pull on people's looks. People not getting that isn't very surprising though when they're perfectly happy to comment on a trans women's looks. The '' laydee'' comment just before this shows its not just a concern about make up policy on police officers, is it.
And I've already said why I'm not linking to tweets to invite people to pull on people's looks.

So why on earth did you specifically mention a female officer you said look liked they'd used loads of fake tan?!

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 09/01/2022 21:24

Oh, I never believe what I want to believe. Thinking that one's own beliefs can shape material reality isn't for me. If I believed what I wanted, I wouldn't believe there was such a thing as subconscious misogyny, homophobia or racism!

Instead, I feel morally compelled to consider evidence, and concepts like Occam's Razor.

Fieldofgreycorn · 09/01/2022 21:20

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 21:20

This is ridiculous.
I've said why I'm not linking, and people are free to look themselves at Twitter, it's hardly some secret corner of the Internet.

Another classic move of ‘I am not going to admit I was really offensive. Instead I will continue to minimise it and make out everyone insisting on the proof I said was plentiful.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 21:17

Hilarious.

It is YOU who has commented on someone's looks. YOU.

People not getting that isn't very surprising though when they're perfectly happy to comment on a trans women's looks.

People have commented on the application of make up in the two or three photos that we have now seen. And in all of them, they are not following the Dress Code for the Hertfordshire Police.

But do crack on trying to twist this to being about us 'commenting on a transitioned male's looks'.

It is a very clear example of how false your argument has been consistently been throughout this thread, and how you resorted to an offensive statement as a 'gotcha'.

So, again, around we go.

This thread is about the unequal application of the dress code for the Hertfordshire Police. Any distractive technique you choose to deploy, will not actually show this unequal application in a positive light.

ArabellaScott · 09/01/2022 21:16

NoNot I do almost admire your persistence in the faux naive and disingenuous posts.

Few people are willing to continue digging themselves such a deep hole when it is abundantly clear to absolutely everyone reading that you're talking piffle.

Which tweet did you mean?

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 21:10

No, I'm not.
You can believe what you want which you're going to do anyway, but I was not referring to that tweet.
And I've already said why I'm not linking to tweets to invite people to pull on people's looks.

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 21:09

siree

do you think red or green are neutral nail colours?

Sorting this out might show how this could be a misunderstanding, instead of an unwise doubling down.

Sophoclesthefox · 09/01/2022 21:07

Why would they do that?

Nobody is buying what you’re selling anymore, no. You get that, right? Your bad faith engagement is just too obvious now.
