One rule for women and another for transgender women.

Having long green nails and heavy makeup, breaches Hertfordshire Police Forces uniform policy, unless of course you're trans! Then you can do what you like to "feel like a woman".

@NoNotMeNoSiree

That's a thread about a gay man and his hat! Not one about someone called Jane Fae like was claimed. As I knew I hadn't been on that one if there was one. What, so I'm supposed to remember and see every single post about something unrelated to the thread and title just in case several months down the line someone says '' it was mentioned on this post, why don't you remember? Hmm Ridiculous.
Is that because you're too close-minded to bother reading subsequent posts? Because someone making fun of a mixed-race woman for her skin colour is very memorable. What kind of person would forget someone doing that? Especially a person from the side with which they ally themselves.

I certainly remember you ignoring direct questions on that thread... hmm. It all comes together now.

NoNotMeNoSiree · 09/01/2022 19:10

and you sure as hell don't have to imagine what it might be like as a woman prisoner locked up in a cell with a male rapist eh?
What has that got to do with the thread?!
It's about make up being applied and whether it's fair for trans women to be allowed to wear a bright shade of lipstick or whatever whereas other women apparently aren't allowed as bright a colour.
How do prisons come into it?
Unless you mean be wary of all trans women because, trans?

VestofAbsurdity · 09/01/2022 19:08

@NoNotMeNoSiree

You were Yes, I know. To say it's not OK to police a trans women's make up or any women's but people only have a problem about it when it comes to trans women and what they're wearing.
Once again as you seem to be either lacking in comprehension skills or being deliberately obtuse:

The issue is not make up, the issue is adherence to the rules in place regarding make up and nails

lucky no one here was policing anyone's make up then

the discussion is about the way make up rules seem to apply differently to men and women

perhaps some sort of interpretive dance would help you?

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 09/01/2022 19:07

@NoNotMeNoSiree

to tell posters off about being judgemental about a womans make up That was the whole point though - that nobody is discussing other women's make up, that's reserved especially for trans women.
god give me strength

@NoNotMeNoSiree

do you think red or green are neutral nail colours?

you seem to struggle to see some posts

And as usual, you don't read what people type, and just go off half-cocked, high on your own righteousness

this is so true

believing so strongly that you are right means you don't have to read what other people say, and you sure as hell don't have to imagine what it might be like as a woman prisoner locked up in a cell with a male rapist eh?

it can also lead to you doing bloody stupid things like

  1. implying wearing fake tan is some sort of failing
  2. assuming someone's skin is dark because they are wearing fake tan

good heavens!

You have yet to provide an example of a Herts Policewoman flouting the make up rules.

Again it's not about make up it's about the unfairness in applying the rules. But keep swerving.

No the point which you are deliberately refusing to acknowledge is the fact that there are Dress Code Rules and these are not being applied to one particular officer. It doesn't matter whether or not you care about make up wearing or non make up wearing, it matters only that for that profession there are rules, rules everyone should abide by, no exceptions, no ifs, no buts, no maybes.

You can't or won't provide any evidence to the contrary that this particular officer is not being given special treatment.

In your desperate attempt to protect your sacred caste whom you believe can do no wrong all you do is highlight your own prejudices and confirm that in your view TW do not have to abide by any of the same rules and restrictions a woman in the same role has to.

And yes, you were on the thread where we discussed that. I have a memory, even if you haven't. Ok, I think you've definitely got me mixed up with someone else now as I know I wasnt on a thread about that.
There you go!

And again - really would never.
Pretty Envy not envy that that's where people immediately think that's what I was referring to.

Sophoclesthefox · 09/01/2022 18:49

This is desperate stuff, even by your standards nosir.

Hypocritical, too, when the purpose of you wading in was (by your own lights) to tell posters off about being judgemental about a womans make up, then at best your post about the other special constables did exactly that…and arguably was much worse, if it was indeed as racist as it seemed.

Give it a rest.

lovelyweathertoday · 09/01/2022 18:46

@NoNotMeNoSiree

I'm not the one making it about race. I was talking about make up

I must have missed the post where you linked to the easily found photo of a woman wearing excessive makeup. I couldn't see anything excessive.

Surely giving us the example makes more sense than argue over an imaginary photo.

VestofAbsurdity · 09/01/2022 18:45

@NoNotMeNoSiree

The very top post, the first one you might see is a photo of a police officer discussing the racism she's encountered as a "mixed heritage" officer.

Again, that absolutely was NOT the tweet and I would never do that.
NOT in capitals as it seems you need it saying louder.

Frankly, I don't believe you. You have fucked up and are back pedalling as fast as you can hence being unable or unwilling to clarify which picture you were talking about.

Let's have a link then. Cos I have a twitter account and I have checked. It's the top post, posted today.

Put the bloody shovel down, and go and reflect on your behaviour.

P.S. if you bothered to read people's posts, you'd have remembered the Jane Fae incident where she mocked a mixed-race woman for using too much fake tan, and learnt from it. And yes, you were on the thread where we discussed that. I have a memory, even if you haven't.

VestofAbsurdity · 09/01/2022 18:43

Why won't you post a link to the picture you deem as a woman wearing heavy make-up or fake tan, NoNotMeNoSiree? Or at the very least tell us which picture on the official Herts Police Twitter feed you are critiquing? What are you afraid of? You are arguing that the woman police officer you saw on the Twitter feed was wearing heavy make up or fake tan, it's up to you to show evidence of that.

@NoNotMeNoSiree

Oh come on, you can tell what's make up and what's natural skin tone! God this conversation is fucking horrible, it's policing women's looks and its sick.
Yes. We can.

You can't. And as usual, you don't read what people type, and just go off half-cocked, high on your own righteousness.

This is what you said.

Well just a quick look at Hert police twitter account you don't have to scroll far at all see pics of other women officers being shown.
The first one I saw was someone looking like they're heavily tanned and like the fake tan bottle a lot or foundation.

The very top post, the first one you might see is a photo of a police officer discussing the racism she's encountered as a "mixed heritage" officer.

I looked at that and saw a woman. As has been made very apparent to me over the past year, the trans activist movement is predominately white, very well-off, and they rarely tend to mix socially with people not from that background. This is often apparent, but the occasions when white trans activists see mixed race women and assume it is "fake tan" are particularly glaring. It shows they don't even know what mixed-race people look like, never mind associate with them.

Stop denying the raving obvious and resolve from now on to actually read what people say. It's January after all, month of the New Year's Resolution

Helleofabore · 09/01/2022 18:31

To be fair, blueberry also declared there were many other examples.

Although, they then indulged in negative generalisations about the posters on this board which meant their post was deleted. This was not a surprise either.

ArabellaScott · 09/01/2022 18:27

to post a link, Quaggars, you just need to highlight the address of the tweet in the search bar, do ctrl+c to copy, (or I think command+c on a mac), and then ctrl+v on your post here in Mumsnet. I can try and find a walk-through video if that would be helpful.

ArabellaScott · 09/01/2022 18:26

The tweets posted others are" wearing make up though.
which ones? please link, I can't see anyone with make up on
