“ Women aren't allowed to have a separate campaign for transmen.”

I’m not sure this is it. From what I’ve seen TW feel invalidated if campaigns highlight women’s biology in a way that they’re not included in.
This is a male campaign that benefits male people.

Sounds great. Don't get jealous and angry about it. It's a step in the right direction.

It's not a step towards anywhere, because men never stopped being allowed to be called men. The TRA movement and the institutions catured by it seem to see no cognitive dissonance in thinking it's fine for men to be called men, but hateful for women to be called women.

Hahahahaahaha! Good one @skipperjonce

Hopefully now more women's charities and health services will be able to adopt this stance too.

When people asked the organisation why it wasn't "inclusive", they sensibly said that they needed the message to be easily understood, and that they had separate campaigns targeting transwomen and non-binaries.

And isn’t that what we have been saying and asking for?

Well bugger me if that isn't how the single sex exemptions in the Equality Act are supposed to work.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 20/12/2021 06:54

Well of course they do - this whole omnitastrophe is about men getting everything they want at all costs.

@334bu

The only reason for excluding the word " woman" is because when the word woman is used in reference to female biology, then males who identify as women feel excluded. It has absolutely nothing to do with including transmen and non binary people born female.
Exactly

Imagine that, a healthcare organisation prioritising saving lives instead of worrying about not upsetting anyone.

Women aren't allowed to have a separate campaign for transmen. That would leave the campaign for actual women to be based on their biology. Alongside one for women who identify as men, using tweaked language.

That's not allowed.

Female biology must be separated from the word woman, across the board. That's why the word is never mentioned in relation to their biological health.

I'd love to see women's health campaigns following the advice of ProstrateUK, but they wouldn't be allowed.

(Although it would be interesting to see the crackpot reasons).

Speaks volumes doesn't it

Timefortea4 · 19/12/2021 23:20

The contrast with the current language around women's health is so stark.
