So says this article anyway

"Acting as an accelerator, the Internet maternity forum Mumsnet has grown over the years to become a hub for British transphobia. Many stay-at-home mothers have become convinced there of the danger that “transgender ideology” poses to their children."

Funny, I could've sworn I went to work yesterday, must have dreamed it Hmm

Hilarious.

Outraged that mothers might grow concerned about a movement that won't let children be children and play with or wear whatever they want without trying to push them into boxes? Incredulous that mothers might view with horror medical experiments done on children? Shocked that mothers would become political when politics results in children being harmed? Horrified that mothers might loudly object to a movement seeking to alienate children from their parents?

And 80% of us give birth. It's not like mothers are a minority amongst women. Our biological imperative is not merely to bear children, it's to ensure optimal conditions for their development. The doctrine of gender identity stands in the way of that imperative. And they're surprised that we might have a view on that?

I do love the idea of being coated in a “progressive veneer”. Can I get it with sparkles for the online team Christmas party? That line made me think of “men are who they say they are, women are who men say they are.”

They need to use the word mother in this context as it to most rational people means a biological woman. Sexism only is effective if it is aimed at biological women.

Scraggythang · 15/12/2021 10:28

That’s not misogynistic at all.

Just another dismissal of women thinking, conversing, organising etc.

Stick to your baking, bunting and darning of socks you bunch of irrelevant old fishwives.

DialSquare · 15/12/2021 10:27

It must be our husbands/partners giving us money to donate to all those causes then.

IncompleteSenten · 15/12/2021 10:26

Should they really be using the word mother? I thought they wanted to replace it with something less offensive.

Grin

They're just mummies! Prams and nappies! No internal lives, no brain because obviously that falls out of the uterus with the baby, no social worth of any kind, for the love of genderism will you please stop listening to them!

Sexism on crack as usual.

Doubletoilandtrouble · 15/12/2021 10:24

They need to discredit us somehow.

If they cannot find any hate, or make the argument that we are transphobic bigots, they will try to say that we are stupid little women overly protective of our children.

But the wheels are coming off I think. There are articles in mainstream media almost every day now.

WinterTrees · 15/12/2021 10:24

Can't see sex, can't recognise your own rank, stinking sexism. How convenient.

AbandonedCharacter · 15/12/2021 10:23

But work would just be for pin money, anyway....

SloeFox · 15/12/2021 10:23

And its just another form of misogyny. Women's views don;t count because of ... [insert reason here]

WorriedMumsDontSleep · 15/12/2021 10:23

Nothing wrong with stay at home mothers if your circumstances demand it.

#Mum work is work doesn't quite have the following it should though, does it.

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/12/2021 10:23

Are they clear on what a mum is?

SloeFox · 15/12/2021 10:22

well, considering the TWAW lot think that people can change biological sex based on their say so, it is hardly surprising they are incapable of identifying the nuances and diversity of those who are on MNet.
