James Gant brought us the 'Troll GP' article last week and seems to be on a roll

@Rightsraptor

Are they seriously trotting that Teddy bear thing around meetings with adults in work settings? It's so childish. Insulting as well as rubbish.

I do agree that sexual attraction is on a scale of 0-100 though. 100 being when you can't wait to rip someone's clothes off and 0 being when you can't wait to escape from some pronoun-touting, self-obsessed wanker.

😂😂😂👏

@Bosky - oops, I think I may be derailing the thread a bit.

@hardtobelieve - I've been on so many courses where we've all been complaining in the privacy of the pub or our bedrooms, but when the questionnaire comes round at the end - all is wonderful! Amazing course, terrific trainer!

I did it myself a couple of weeks ago. Hmm

Bosky · 06/12/2021 18:34

@KittenKong

Bosky - reminds me of my wedding. There we all were, dressed like princesses. The ground was muddy, we were in king dressed and heels and sinking...

A the very annoying photographer was leaping around ‘happy happy!’ ‘Happy happy!’ And acting like he was trying to get a small child to smile in a shopping mall photo boutique.

We were all smiling sweetly but my uncle was filming from behind...

I wish he’d shut the f up
What is wrong with that bloody man?
Take the effing picture before that camera goes somewhere you won’t be able to reach it
I need a bloody drink (one sister wandered off and returned with a bottle cold champagne)
I’m going to punch him on the nose if he doesn’t just stop it...
Lots of swears etc.

My mum was howling when she saw it.
@PaleGreenGhost: I know! It's astonishing. How do they keep quiet? I long to hear someone stood up and said 'what a crock of shite. I'm going back to my office'.

But then I've always wanted to be at a wedding when the couple are asked if they know of any lawful impediment to their marriage & someone shouts 'stop! He's already married!' Happens all the time in films. Never at the weddings I've been at.

Still hopeful though.
Presumably at the end of these (indoctrination) sessions, staff are given a feedback questionnaire. If you are too scared to openly challenge their nonsense during the session, surely that would be a good time to rate them: e.g. content 1 out of 10 or similar?

Signalbox · 06/12/2021 11:53

@justaftb

As an adult, I can't imagine sitting in a room in a professional setting watching someone (who I know is being paid a not insignificant amount of public money) use this graphic to explain what 'sex' and 'gender' mean.

In a way, I'd have to admire them for their grift.

God you'd think by now there would be some resistance to having to attend these courses. You get the sense that it is a load of zombie brain-washed civil servants just sitting there nodding along. But some of them must be resisting this nonsense surely.
ArabellaScott · 06/12/2021 11:53

Great article.

I had a boss who was made to see a consultancy that was supposed to train him how to motivate his team, how to sell the organisation... all about PR and business reputation - basically a consultancy telling him how to do his job.

I sat in on one session and it was all a load of hot air and completely impractical for our business. I think their boss was a pal of our Big Boss.

My boss stuck it out for the minimum 3 sessions and couldn’t talk it any more.

He stood up and said ‘let’s go!’. He then walked them to the front door and said to the security guard ‘Hi Phil. See these two guys here? Never ever allow them into the building again.’

He’d had done the same with the rainbow biscuit crew.

I came close to that when my train was held up then my taxi got stuck on traffic then the Council Reception denied that there was a wedding taking place in the Registry Office that day, so I was late finally arriving at the room.

I do not recall saying this but apparently, in that quiet space of anxious anticipation, I stood hidden in the doorway behind a sea of suits and wedding hats and the breathless, whispered words, "Oh Shit!" wafted over the silent crowd! Blush

@Whatwouldscullydo

Its hilarious that people actually take any notice of this stuff when no one can answer questions, define their terms, and there's about a gazillion Contradictions that are never addressed

Spectrums ffs. What's transition then? What are people transitioning too or from?

What are all these multiple genders and how can there be non BI ( which means 2) nary when there's over 100 genders.

Excellent point re spectrum/transition - thank you for pointing this out!
Rightsraptor · 06/12/2021 10:55

I'm glad I've made at least two people laugh on this grey morning.

PaleGreenGhost · 06/12/2021 10:53

The genderbread person seems designed to misinform people with low IQs. Which is a really bad thing in itself.

But I expect better from civil servants than to just swallow this kind of crap.

Gender identity is the chemistry that composes you?

What chemistry?

And there are dozens of different gender identities?

It's such patent nonsense.

It really worries me the people who run our country aren't questioning this absolute crap. None of it makes the slightest sense and it contradicts itself every five seconds, even as an ideology.

Global butterflies website appears to be down globalbutterflies.com/about-us/

And their twitter has also disappeared 🤔

Who’s that then?

We're being conned. We don't live in a democracy, our public servants are on a path which is out of touch with the majority of voters and there seems to be no way to get them back to one of the tenants of being a Civil Servant which is impartiality. As we know, the trans/women's rights debate is now political. Who is going to stop these people? Our elected MP's don't seem to have the ability to make change e.g. Liz Truss and the Foreign Office signing up to continue with SW despite her views.

FindTheTruth · 06/12/2021 05:21

The workshops claim that gender, attraction and sex sit on a spectrum of 0-100
Interesting theories out of East Coast American colleges which have no place in Education, Politics, Policy making and public life.

Masdintle · 06/12/2021 00:58

Oh well if it's chemistry I finally understand. I'm a carbon-based life form Grin

WeeBisom · 06/12/2021 00:10

Mooscow, it's even more nonsensical than how you put it. Gender identity is "how you think about yourself in your head" (as opposed to thinking about myself in my spleen?) AND 'the chemistry that composes you (eg hormones)" AND "how you interpret what that means." I literally do not understand what this means. Also, it seems there is an internal contradiction in this definition. How you think about yourself in your end could be very different from your body chemistry and what you think about that. The two things seem to be entirely distinct phenomena. I literally have no clue what the chemistry that composes me is (no idea about my hormones) and I couldn't begin to interpret what that means, even if I did know. How on earth can anyone know their gender identity?
