"aren't that bright"
Yep, the stupid mummies comment.
Does that come along with "echo chamber" or have we had that one already?

Artichokeleaves · 05/12/2021 16:12

There have been extremely butch women, lesbian and otherwise, since the 20s.

If and it's a fairly big if since this is only ever thrown around by TAs in the past couple of years, it happens at all, you know what?

It's happening because female people can no longer trust that male people are not entering their spaces. And they are voicing that they are uncomfortable, angry, that they do not consent. They now have to worry about who is who, because male people have created the situation where there's no trust in female spaces. This goes with the 'you probably won't know they're male' kind of argument - females never used to have to care what a female person looked like before males wanted what they wanted and took it without the faintest care or consideration for females.

The answer is not for females to give up, lay down and let male people and anyone who looks male do whatever floats their boat without conscience or consequences. Because that would be sexist batshittery, wouldn't it?

The answer is for males to respect females and their boundaries. Easy fix. If you're worried about butch women having a bad time then there's your answer!

@Theeyeballsinthesky

Yep it’s pretty easy to tell a butch lesbian from a man
From that photo I can’t tell if second from left is xx or XY. Genuinely. I’m guessing xy only because I think you are trying to compare the two people on the left to each other to show one is female and one isn’t in spite of both wearing masculine clothes but maybe I am misunderstanding you.
littlbrowndog · 05/12/2021 16:11

I never understand this.
Did women and girls suddenly demand mixed sex toilets. Mixed sex changing rooms. Mixed sex sport. Mixed sex jails. 🤷‍♀️

Cordyceps · 05/12/2021 16:09

@YourVagesty

Have fun I guess, this seems like a game for you and I made the mistake of thinking you were serious.

No, you made the mistake of thinking we came down in the last rain shower.

All of the 'bingo' comments are demonstrating your lack of originality. We've heard it all before.

The fact you’re accusing me of unoriginality is amusing. This entire thread-nay, topic- is a case study in logical fallacies committed by people who aren’t that bright but still trying to defend indefensible positions.

And what if you have a buggy and a toddler with you. Yo can’t keep curtains closed

Or are we just meant to stay at home now so men can go wherever they want

Batshit crazy

in cubicles next to one another the next thing you know the men will have installed spy cams behind every mirror and will have sexually assaulted everyone’s teenage daughter

Even one camera and one teenager daughter is one too many.

YourVagesty · 05/12/2021 16:02

what happens when my daughter’s butch lesbian girlfriend is sent to the men’s dressing room? Are you ok with that?

I would bet my house that 1000 people picked at random could instantly and instinctively, recognise the difference between a man and a butch lesbian.

Because its always really fucking obvious.

EricCartmansUnderpants · 05/12/2021 16:01

She is regularly told to leave the women’s toilets and has been threatened by women that they will go get their male partners to drag her out of the toilet by force if she doesn’t leave. I also have a friend who is a tall woman with a large nose (and four naturally birthed children that came from her own vagina) who has been asked to leave female spaces by people who refuse to believe she is female.

Bollocks.

endlesswinter · 05/12/2021 16:01

I actually agree with @Cordyceps I have had butch friends questioned in single sex spaces.
But this doesn't mean single sex spaces aren't needed.
I also think that the questioning is more likely to increase if males are allowed into female spaces because females will have raised anxiety.

Artichokeleaves · 05/12/2021 16:00

Echo chamber! Yay!

House!

Cordyceps · 05/12/2021 15:57

No @gogohm you don’t understand, if you let men and women change clothes in cubicles next to one another the next thing you know the men will have installed spy cams behind every mirror and will have sexually assaulted everyone’s teenage daughter, somehow, in spite of the fact that there are approximately 36,000 people milling around every Zara changing room that has ever existed which means that it is probably the safest place to change your top in the world aside from your own home.

gogohm · 05/12/2021 15:48

Zara has cubicles, the bit in the middle is for people waiting of either sex not changing, same in every shop I can think of - 20+ years ago there was communal changing in shops but haven't seen it more recently. Lots of shops have cubicles that can be used by anyone, I don't see the issue

Cordyceps · 05/12/2021 15:43

I’m clearly not consumed by the online sex/gender wars like the lot of you are because I’m absolutely confused by these bingo card comments and this nutty idea that masculine women don’t suffer from being misgendered (Mis-sexed?). I’ve obviously stumbled into the wrong internet box because this isn’t a discussion, it’s an echo chamber and the only way you know how to respond to ideas that don’t line up with your ideology and which you can’t actually understand or refute is to shut down the conversation by calling me a liar or talking about bingo. Have fun I guess, this seems like a game for you and I made the mistake of thinking you were serious.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/12/2021 15:42

Asparagus!!

Oooh have we had “but intersex” yet?

EndoplasmicReticulum · 05/12/2021 15:36

I was waiting for the "butch lesbian turned away from women's changing rooms" square on my card too - I think I have a full line now.

Is this the sort of thread where I'm going to get clownfish?
They're my favourite.

Waiting for Nemo.

Cordyceps · 05/12/2021 15:34

You don’t believe that butch lesbians get accused of being men in women’s toilets? Ok then. I didn’t realise I had stumbled into an alternate reality.

Whatwouldscullydo · 05/12/2021 15:32

Yeah I regularly mix up butch lesbians and men....Hmm

Cordyceps · 05/12/2021 15:31

I wasn’t talking to you, @gunnersgold, It’s a general statement and question not a personal insult. I didn’t even read your previous comments but I have now, everyone is quite pleased with you so that must make you feel good.

The stories are getting wilder.

Seconding that.

Artichokeleaves · 05/12/2021 15:28

Oooh we got the 'butch lesbian exclusion' one!!

My card's nearly full Grin

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/12/2021 15:26

I’d put my bingo card away but it seems I was premature

Deary me……

No men don’t belong in womens changing rooms. No men can’t have everything they want. The answer is no
