Excellent guidance here from Transgender Trend to assist in directly responding to the UK Government Conversion Therapy Consultation.
You can cut and paste most of it and/or add you own comments on the link.

Bumping this thread as I do mine! Only a day or so to go! It's really important.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 02/02/2022 08:54

they have STILL failed to seperate gay conversion therapy from gender identity 'conversion therapy'…… I cannot 'strongly agree' with [banning] both at once but that is the only option given.

I agree, Rabbitwoman. That shows how strong the trans lobby’s influence is. That’s why I put that I “somewhat agree”. I made it clear in the longer answers that I strongly oppose gay conversion therapy, but I strongly support proper professional counselling for anyone confused about gender. Especially if they’re at risk of harmful drugs or surgery.

rabbitwoman · 02/02/2022 07:02

I filled in the consultation last night but was completely struck by how they have STILL failed to seperate gay conversion therapy from gender identity 'conversion therapy'.

The consultation has surely been brought about by people campaigning that they are two very different, in fact opposite, things? I cannot 'strongly agree' with both at once but that is the only option given.

How hard would it have been to have separated the two, or given an option to do so? Are they trying to make it inaccessible to people?

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 01/02/2022 22:28

It’s important to tell government that counselling aimed at helping people live happily in their natural bodies is not the same as trying to ‘cure’ gays and lesbians. Homosexuality causes no harm. Unnecessary drugs and surgery do cause harm.

LangClegsInSpace · 01/02/2022 21:30

Three days left to respond to this consultation. Closes on 04/02/22.

MsGoodenough · 09/12/2021 18:07

Extension thanks to FPfW!

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/12/2021 17:09

Redshoeblueshoe · 08/12/2021 18:36

Did you say Friday is the deadline Malaya ?

I was only bumping !

2319inprogress · 08/12/2021 18:00

Bumping - I've just had a reminder email from sex matters & used their "10 minute" response took slightly longer as I had a bit of a rant

MalagaNights · 08/12/2021 17:52

Bumping this as I'm using it now to get my rsposne in and it helps so much.

Reminder to all Friday is the deadline. I'm always running late!

Please respond, do it briefly, make the imporatnt points, just get a response in. That's what I'm doing.

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/12/2021 12:11

@oldwomanwhoruns You’re an absolute Star

oldwomanwhoruns · 08/12/2021 10:58

I got rather carried away, I kept putting 'KEEP GENDER IDENTITY OFF THE STATUTE BOOKS' wherever I could. And I kept mentioning detransitioners, and and Trans Widows. And WOMEN.
Get those sound bytes in there!

Needmoresleep · 08/12/2021 10:42

I have not idea why auto correct gave me “womanised” not “worried”. Good one though. Politics should be more womanised, or women centred.

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/12/2021 10:38

The Gvmnt need to understand the epidemic of influence through social media and perpetuated in schools. Such a high percentage of girls now saying they are non-binary and trans. It's a perfect storm and potential catastrophe if this bill is not seriously re-written, and gender/trans needs to be handled in a very different way to sexuality as leading to medicalisation and surgery - irreversible serious harm.

Needmoresleep · 08/12/2021 08:41

It looks as if ordinary parents writing in has caused a bit of a panic behind the scenes. The consultation will, apparently be extended.

More important than ever for people to contribute their views. This is an important way to help the Government understand that outside their political bubble women, in particular, are womanised about the impact the Stonewall agenda is having on the safety and welfare of vulnerable women and children.

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/12/2021 07:01

Bump.

No-one in the UK can be complacent :(

Redshoeblueshoe · 07/12/2021 21:52

Bump

malloo · 07/12/2021 17:00

Thanks for the reminder, going to do this tonight.

DoubleTweenQueen · 07/12/2021 14:47
