Well, sort of. I've come to the end of my time on MN. I've been here under various names for the best part of two decades, and it's been transformational. I've met some of my best friends, received great advice about raising my kids, dealing with abuse, and most of all, shifted from being a mousey submissive wife Christian into a complete gobshite feminist lesbian.

I haven't been a regular for quite some time. I'm active and busy doing other things tbh. But I do occasionally pop in to see what's what. The past few times reminded me why I stopped visiting that much in the first place. I am often deleted now, and the feeling of walking on eggshells in case I'm reported by TRAs is no less unpleasant now than it was when this was the only platform available to talk about women's rights, albeit in a highly controlled manner.

It's not the only platform anymore, not by a very long way, so I'm making the decision to not submit to that feeling ever again. So, sort of flounce, yes, but mostly it's a fond farewell to the many women whom I've been helped by on MN and FWR whom I don't know offline. Keep speaking up in your own sphere, be more JKR, be more Magdalen, be anonymous and know that whatever you do makes a difference.

Women and girls matter, including you, so take good care of yourself.

Sincerely wims, go well.

Floral, you won’t know my name but I know yours and thank you for all you many important and helpful posts. Sorry to see you leave.

MistandMud · 23/11/2021 14:39

But Floral, how will we know when you've done the next Strike podcast?

Yeah, yeah, I'm a selfish so and so (who isn't very good at tech).

HereticFanjo · 23/11/2021 14:36

I'm really sorry you are leaving, I have nothing but gratitude to all the women who have put their heads above the parapet and posted here and elsewhere. If there are other spaces you recommend please please pm me? I'd like to do more.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 23/11/2021 14:30

Thank you for all your posts. You helped me see more clearly.

PankhurstConnection · 23/11/2021 14:23

I understand Floral - I am the same. I've been here under numerous names for many, many years now. I took the decision to post less here a year ago because I didn't like the feeling of being stifled so I do see where you are coming from.

You will be very much missed, you are an excellent poster but I know you will be continuing the fight elsewhere like I have. I too love the women of FWR but not the arbitrary rules which don't apply to the rest of the site.

Keep up the fight Floral and you 'go well' too with my greatest respect and admiration x

Saisong · 23/11/2021 14:19

More power to your elbow Floral. Thanks for wiseful posting x

gailforce1 · 23/11/2021 14:19

You will be greatly missed Floral, best wishes for the future.

DaisiesandButtercups · 23/11/2021 14:15

Much love to you FloralBunting. I have enjoyed and learned from your posts. Thank you for your contributions. You will be sorely missed here. Wishing you all the best. FlowersCakeWine

MonsignorMirth · 23/11/2021 14:13

You'll be greatly missed, love your posts. I've noticed a few other voices haven't been around recently, as well. Hope to 'bump into you' elsewhere online...

catzwhiskas · 23/11/2021 14:13

Sad to see you go, you have contributed hugely here to waking up so many. There will be others who will pass on the baton and in other ways the picture is changing, although it is ironic that we still cannot speak plainly, here of all places. Hope to see you elsewhere.

highame · 23/11/2021 14:05

You've been great Floral Gin 🍷🍸

CreepingDeath · 23/11/2021 14:05

I'm sorry to see you go Floral, I have lurked here for a few years and learned so much from you and other wise ladies.

I understand your frustration, when even a site that is meant to be for women doesn't allow open discussion and biological reality, it really is infuriating.

I keep hoping we'll all just decamp somewhere else, if enough of us leave then we could keep the momentum going and build something better.

lovelyweathertoday · 23/11/2021 14:03

I too am sorry to see you go floral, I always like reading your posts.

Despite the restrictions I do love the brilliant women on here, I came to laugh at/with AIBU and now I spend my time emailing MPs etc about this issue. Definitely radicalised by Mumsnet!

Do let us know if we can find you elsewhere.

RoyalCorgi · 23/11/2021 13:56

I'll miss you, Floral. But I take heart from the fact that this forum has played a huge role in changing the conversation on this issue, to the extent that Helen Joyce even mentions Mumsnet in her book as one of the reasons the UK is so far ahead of the US in fighting trans ideology.

SenselessUbiquity · 23/11/2021 13:55

Thanks for all you've done here, @FloralBunting, I love your posts.

Abitofalark · 23/11/2021 13:53

You miss them when they're gone. A couple of posters I've noticed missing recently are Michelle of the resistance and Rowantrees. Don't know when they left, assuming they've left.

TheABC · 23/11/2021 13:51

Hugs @FloralBunting

Another lurker who is sad to see you go, but respects your reasons why.
Thank you for your posts. I have learned so much from them. I started out as a mouse squeak for feminism, but it's getting louder by the day.

MrsMadderRose · 23/11/2021 13:42

Oh no Floral! :( I've been here many years too and I do know what you mean. But I've really appreciated your posts and learned from so many of them. This space and these discussions, where women can think through and debate what this all means and what's happening to us, are so important.

Good luck to you and see you in the feminist future. We will get there. And yes pop back in!

littlbrowndog · 23/11/2021 13:38

Aw floral. You are awesome.

Much kisses and hugs. From me to you

Go well as been said to some of us 🤣

VeryLongBeeeeep · 23/11/2021 13:36

I love how the wisdom of the women who have been banned or driven away has been absorbed by the many lurkers, who gain confidence and gradually become the wise women who will in turn inspire the new lurkers.

Not so much vipers but the hydra...get rid of one of us and two more spring up in their place.

Take care Floral, you will be missed but your wisdom will remain here.

Beamur · 23/11/2021 13:33

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

Don't be a stranger! Take care and au revoir.
This. Pop back sometime Wink
OhHolyJesus · 23/11/2021 13:20

Take care Floral, your time here as been invaluable. I have learnt a great deal from you and hope to cross paths in another realm.

May the odds be forever in your favour 💪🏻

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 23/11/2021 13:19

You'll be sorely missed, but I fully understand your reasoning. There can be many strong reasons to remain in a relationship that has turned abusive, but nothing compares to the feeling of lightness, freedom and possibilities that comes with leaving and regaining control over yourself.

I love how the wisdom of the women who have been banned or driven away has been absorbed by the many lurkers, who gain confidence and gradually become the wise women who will in turn inspire the new lurkers.

TheWeeDonkey · 23/11/2021 13:11

Aw Floral I'm gutted. I've learned a lot from you and I enjoy your posts, but I understand your feelings. Take care of yourself 💐

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/11/2021 13:08

Don't be a stranger! Take care and au revoir.
